Installing 10.6 to Win7-32 disables network driver

After installing version 10.6 my Win7-32 bit shows no network access, trouble shooter responds with driver corrupt. The only solution seems to restore the system.

I'd try the install again, and then apply TG10987's instructions from the following post:

  • Teredo Tunneling Network Driver. How to reinstall missing driver?

System Description: T60p 8244-J2U - Vista Business - Trend Micro
As the Lenovo ToolBox was indicating an error message (triangle) in Device Manager and I was unable to update the Teredo Tunneling pseudo (something) Network Driver, I uninstalled it thinking that it would reinstall automatically after I shut down and restart.  Unfortunately, that did not happen.  The driver is still missing and I am unable to go online (I am using another PC running XP to write this note) PS: If necessary, I can have access to a Lenovo X61 running Vista Business.
How do I go about re-installing the missing Teredo Tunneling Pseudo (something) network driver? Thank you.

Disabling the computer's security software (firewall and antivirus) usually resolves that error.

  • Officejet Pro L7580 appears as a network drive in Win7

I have a new Dell desktop with 64-bit Win7.  I have installed the printer with HP's latest 64-bit full software program downloaded from HP's website.  My L7580 all-in-one loads on my network as a disk drive.  When I click on the link it reports: "LOCATION NOT AVAILABLE.  Z:\ is not accessible.  An unexpected network error occured."  When I right-click on the link and select "Properties" it displays the properties of a typical disk drive and not the properties of a printer.  When I right-click the link and select "Disconnect" it disconnects this "Z drive".  The L7580 functions perfectly whether or not I leave this "Z drive link" in my network listing and whether or not I choose to disconnect the "Z drive".  At this point it is just an annoying anomaly.  However, I have a networked Lexmark black and white laser printer on this same network and the Lexmark does not exhibit this behavior.  I have a small home network (cable modem, Netgear 4-port router with two computers and these two printers plugged into the 4-port router.  The router assigns both printers their IP addresses and I can connect to each printer's internal web page with its respective information and settings just by typing their respective IP addresses into my browser (192.168.1.x).
Just curious if any of the technical forum members have any thoughts on this anomaly.  I can live with it but just don't want to if I don't have to.

I don't think this is an "anomaly". IIRC, the printer has memory card ports. So when you install the printer software, the network drives are created as a reference to the memory card slots. They will appear even if you don't have any cards inserted. Even if you remove them now, they'll reappear after you restart the PC. All I can suggest to you is to ignore it.

  • Update/Installation of itunes 10 disables network card

Installation of latest itunes version (10) results in disabling my network card. The only way I've been able to restore is a system restore. I own 3 ipods and am totally frustrated with support structure. I have tried the following with no success.
Uninstall all Apple software as per a support article. 1) itunes 2)Quicktie 3) Apple Soft Upd 4) Mobile Dev Sup 5) Bonjour 6) Apple Applic Supp. Followed by a manual cleanup of the associated program files director and system32 directories.
I finally located a version 9.1 download but get msg that later version is installed. I followed another support tip for renaming library. Tried with several previous library files and could not find one that would allow install to continue.
Does anyone have ideas? Please, please, please.

I am having the same problem here, and am EXTREMELY frustrated... I was so excited to download the new iPad OS. Argh, I hate iTunes. Have you found a solution? Okay so here are my details:
I'm operating a homemade PC on a FoxCon Motherboard, with a RealTek built in wired LAN port.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I first tried upgraded from within iTunes. needed to a computer restore to get network back up and running. Tested all the hardware first to ensure it wasn't hardware.
After retoring, iTunes was broke. I downloaded from the web and tried to install. iTunes was still broke, and the network died again.
Needed to do a system restore again.
Completely uninstalled iTunes from the system. Ran Windows Update to ensure I had all of the updated drivers.
Redownloaded and installed iTunes 10.1 again, and once again, it broken the network connection.
I downloaded the motherboard and LAN port drivers from their website on another machine, and installed them via a USB port on the machine with iTunes. No change.
    I uninstalled iTunes again.
    Called support
They had me setup a new user on the computer, then uninstall Bonjour, 2 Apple software (Mobile and serice), and Quicktime and restart the computer. When the computer came back on I logged in as the new user and the network was again broke.
Did system restore back to after I did the windows update earlier today.
He had me uninstall the apple services again, and then setup the new user. By the time I got to this point the network was down again.
He asked me to a restart, no fix.
He transfered me to a senior support person who didn't have any other ideas.
I tried using the iTunes installation file I saved from before to reinstall now that everything was off, hoping it might reset the network, it did not.
I've restored the system again back to the Windows Update earlier today and am very unsatisfyingly giving up and waiting for Apple's Support Engineers to get back to me in a few days. If anyone knows of any other solutions, my iPad will thank you after it gets updated.

  • How Disable Network Magic Splash Screen?

Can someone please walk me through the steps to disable the Network Magic startup splash screen? I purchased the software a few years back and saw a message how to do it. I did it, and it worked a treat...until a recent glitch on my computer forced a major restore, which brought the splash screen back. Now I (of course) forget how I disabled it in the registry. I know this question is small potatoes compared to the major probs others here are having, but I'm hoping someone'll still give me a bit of help.

    Hi Chris,
I am responding from Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 w/ Internet Explorer 7 installed on FAT32 File System.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled Network Magic Version 4.9.8225.0-Pure0
Unfortunately, while this installation is still unactivated, having just reinstalled it, I have not experienced the Network Magic Splash Screen.
My copy is set up for Network Reports as well as starting up at bootup. It has FullAccess going through my McAfee Personal Firewall.
I have seen the Splash Screen you are referring to. It was seen when the Network Magic License Servers were down or Network Magic  was not set up, right after it was installed. You need to set up Network Magic right after you install it, before you reboot. You don't need to activate it right away.
Uninstall Network Magic. Reboot. Reinstall Network Magic while it is connected to the Router and configured it, then reboot.

  • Creating/loading an iTunes library (.itl) on a network drive results in dummy error "The Disk you are attempting to use is full" [Win7]

I  have an 2TB external HDD attatched to my Asus router.  I have iTunes installed on 3 computers in the house (Bedroom, home theater, bar). Each copy of  iTunes accesses the same music folder on the external hard drive.
The problem is that iTunes creates a library file on each individual computer.  The library file gets out of sync all the time (as computer 1 doesn't know when files have been added via computer 2 and so on).
Obviously the answer is to just put the Library.itl file on the same network drive.  Hoilding shift whille double clicking the iTunes icon allows you to create or load a library from the location of your choosing.
All well and good so far.  However, when I attempt to save to my Network Attached storage Device (NAS) iTunes gives me the "The Disk you are attempting to use is full. Please delete..." error.  (There is over 1TB free on the drive.)
Creating the library file on a local HDD, moving it to the network one, and demanding iTunes access it via option start results in the SAME ERROR!!!
I'd really rather not rescan my entire library everytime I start iTunes.  Adding new purchases and songs via the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder, again, only adds the files to the database file saved on the computer where the files were dragged and dropped from.
I've used windows to "Map" the network drive, as well as typed in the \\192.168 etc address of the network drive.  Always get the same error.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly apperciated.

Also, tried this with itunes 10 (current build) iTunes 9.2.1, and itunes 8. Same issue.

  • Update to iTunes 10.6.3.25 disables network adapter

I am having a very difficult time trying to update to iTunes version 10.6.3.25 on 32-bit Vista Home Premium.  The installer completes successfully, but about 2/3 of the way into the install (I am assuming when the Apple network adpaters are installed), I lose my internet connection.  It doesn't matter if I am WiFi or if I am plugged into ethernet.  Not a problem, except that I can't re-establish it after the install is complete.
My initial update attempt was done using the Apple software updater.  However, that install crashed.  I removed iTunes completely and now have been using the installer program from the iTunes website.  I have downloaded the installer multiple times, each time with the same result.
The real PITA is that a simple uninstall won't restore the network adapter performance.  I have to use a restore point to get back to where I can connect to the internet.
Any suggestions about how to fix this problem?
    - Pete

I'd try the install again, and then apply TG10987's instructions from the following post:

  • Trying to install an Adobe program from CC (CC is on a network drive)

So I will try to explain this the best that I can.  Under our Adobe license we have enough to cover all of the computers in our facilities.  When we re-image computers it installs the basic Adobe programs that we need but some of the staff need other ones that we have access to but we install them on an as needed basis.
And this is where the problem arises.  Most of the time we install programs from the remote desktop rather than going from office to office for convenience but whether we are in the office or over remote desktop we have been noticing that the programs will not install.  We have the Creative Cloud install files on a network drive that we use for all of our other installs of Adobe programs but it seems that the ones in Creative Cloud just won't install.
To be more specific today we were trying to install InCopy and the installer would start, then it would prompt that it is going to need an update that would restart the system which we continued with, but then the progress bar would fill all the way and then the dialog box would disappear and nothing else would happen or the progress bar would go back down and then the dialogue box would go away.  I do not usually install Adobe products but a coworker of mine that has been working with this problem says that it is all across the board when it comes to install anything in the Creative Cloud folder.
They say that it might have to do something with an update needed for Adobe that it just isn't installing or one within the Windows system; although I don't think that is the case since we are trying to install on different Windows OS machines (Windows 7 32/64 bit, Windows 8 64 bit, Windows 8.1 64 bit).
So I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the subject or if anyone had any fixes.

    Hi Jonathan,
You would need to user Adobe creative cloud packager which creates an installation package and deploy to users machines. i assume, you are installing Adobe creative cloud desktop app from a network drive which is not recommended.

    15. Press Finish
    16. On Outbound Rules, right click and choose New Rule, select Next
    17. Choose only the following Rule:
    a. Network Discovery (NB-Datagram Out
    18. On Action choose Allow the connection
    19. Press Finish
    20. On Computer configuration, choose Policies, choose Security Settings, choose System Services
    21. Choose Computer Browser Service
    22. Select Define this policy setting
    23. Choose Disabled, choose Apply and Ok.
    24. Repeat steps (21-23) for the following services:
    a. SSDP Discovery
    b. UPnP Device Host
    c. Function Discovery Resource Publication
    d. Function Discovery Provider host
    e. Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper
After configuring the GPO, link this GPO to our target OU, and we can run gpupdate/force to immediately update group policy.

  • Trying to install on MacBookPro with Parallels and Windows 8.1. Downloaded the CreativeCloud.exe but says I can't install from network drive

I sometimes like to use Photoshop CC and Lightroom on the Windows side of my MacBookPro with Parallels. I had to reinstall Parallels and also Windows 8.1 recently and am trying to reinstall some of the software that I had previously on the Windows side. I downloaded the CreativeCloud.exe program and when I try to install it from the Windows side, get a message that I can't install Creative Cloud from a network drive. Where can I put the CreativeCloud.exe so I can install it?
    Thanks!

You probably need to check your drive setup for the Parallels environment. Nothing to do with Adobe.

Can I install itunes on a network drive? How?

Your virtual drive still needs a physical drive to live on. You can move your iTunes library to any drive big enough to hold it, e.g. an additional internal drive, an external drive, a network share, it's up to you. What you can't do is put a quart into a pint pot.

  • The checkbox (Install or remove Windows 7) is disabled in bootcamp.

Hi, I want to get rid of windows that was installed using bootcamp on my early 2011 macbook pro but the checkbox (install or remove windows 7) is disabled in bootcamp. I tried to format the drive using disk utility but failed, It says "couldn't modify partition map". What can I do to remove windows 7 and unite all the data in my HDD into one single partition?

2 things, the option is greyed out because (1) 1st 2 items are unchecked or (2) the USB containing Windows and the drivers is not detected.
The newer 2013 machines seem to be very picky about the Windows install, as keys that worked on 2012 machines would no longer work on the 2013s. If you want a painless install, do this
