Installing 10g on Win XP. oui.exe will not come up, get error

I downloaded 10g rel 2 from website. I used the standard unzip (Extract All...) that comes with Windows XP. It looked like it worked, but when I tried to run the setup.exe, first it said that it was an unknown publisher, and then it just produced an error report which I sent to Microsoft about oui.exe. It never got to the GUI. What did I do wrong? I have XP Pro and am logged in with admin privs.

I have got the same error. I think this is due to installation folder pathname that contains spaces. I have just moved 'database' folder to hard disk root (eg. c:\dabase) and then run setup.exe and is works.

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT HD Audio Driver ( this will also reinstall the Beats Audio interface ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.

After the reinstallation has completed, restart the PC.

After loading Maverick iTunes will not launch. I get an error code: -45054. I am the administrator and have no groups or guests. Sharing options don't fix this. Also Fetch will not launch, I get error code: SSL error 9807. These worked perfectly before installing Maverick. Also everything that loads, all programs, take twice as long to load. I have MacKeeper and have cleaned and discarded all the garbage.

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
If you have incompletely removed MacKeeper—for example, by dragging the application to the Trash and emptying—then you'll have to reinstall it and start over.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Don't empty the Trash. Let MacKeeper delete itself.
☞ Don't try to drag the MacKeeper Dock icon to the Trash.

ADOBE READER 8.1 WILL NOT WORK-KEEP GETTING ERROR MESSAGE 1606: COULD NOT ACCESS NETWORK LOCATION %APPDATA%

Have tried to uninstall the Adobe Program but it will not let me. I keep getting the 1606 error message. I have went to the Microsoft Help site and it says that the registry may need to be modified. They also advised you that if you do not modify it correctly you may have very serious problems.

Some registry entry may have been corrupted, and it needs to be fixed. If you don't know how to edit the registry, do you have somebody who is confident enough to edit the Windows registry?
Anyway, for now I just want you to check something in the registry - don't modify anything yet!
Click Start | Run | type regedit [Enter]
Once the Registry Editor is open, drill down to the following subkey
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
In here you should see multiple entries, one being AppData - what is the data value on the right side? It should be %USERPROFILE%\Application Data.
Please close the registry editor now, and report back what you found.

Itunes will not start, always get error message

I had to reinstall Itunes and ever since I always get an error message stating "Itunes has encountered a problem and must be restarted" I have tried to restart computer, uninstall every Itunes thing several times, updated to newest Itunes program with out any luck. I have run virus scans, spyware scans and still nothing. The only thing that appears with error message is option to debug but that also does nothing.

Try putting it in recovery mode to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808. (Restoring it will also put iOS 5.1 on it.) If iTunes still won't recognize it see either http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 (windows) or http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 (mac).

Messages in Outbox (email) will not send. Getting error message.....

Lately I cannot get any messages in my email outbox to send (pics I take, then forward through email). I keep getting an error message, "A copy has been placed in your mailbox. The sender address "xxxx" was rejected by the server." It is the same email address (also apple id) for comcast I have used for years and it always worked before. Can anyone help me solve this problem? Running version 6.1.3 software. I am so frustrated.....

My iPhone 4S kept trying to reboot yesterday while in normal use. Now it is telling me to connect to iTunes to restore but it will not restore, I get error code 4013.

I have tried all of the suggestions in this forum, taken it to the Geek Squad and our local Apple Rep, I was even on the phone with Apple Support for 2 hours last night and we could not get my phone to reboot. I am at a loss, any more suggestions?

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes.
If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Update will not down load get error 103

Every time I get a notification that an update is available when I try to download it the download gets to some were in the region of about 97% then a message error appears unknown error 103 and the download fails.Can any one explain /help in solving this problem.tried turning off firewall but it doesn't help.

Forms 6i setup.exe will not run

I am trying to uninstall Forms 6i from a PC (Windows XP) and the manual recommends doing it via the installer.
However the installer (setup.exe) will not run. No error message, control just returns after double click.
I am pretty sure this was how we originally installed Forms 6i but for some reason it does not run now.
Tried a couple of things like turning DEP off, to no effect.
Anybody has an idea where the problem is?
Or should I just uninstall the hard way by deleting the folders and cleaning up the registry manually

In The Properties of the setup file, there is a Tab Named Compatibility. In that tick the Run this program in compatibility mode for:
and select the latest Operating system listed in the Combo box. (Eg: Windows 2000).
and Press OK.
then it will work.

History: Few weeks ago system was severely corrupted even though had McAfee Viruscan and Webroot Spysweeper. It was indicated every time an attempt to look at a video was made wherepon the computer would shutdown a few seconds afterwards. Working w/ Dell Support they determined the system was too far corrupted to save (7000+ files corrupted!!). They suggested that it would be preferable to install W 7 to replace then current XP operating system. Had disk formatted and XP operating system re-installed but only sufficient to allow operation of email. When Windows 7 arrived fully installed along w/ new Word/Excel 2010 S/W. Retrieved backuped files successfully. Everything is operating OK except for FP. Every attempt to load (after repeated uninstalls) shows it to be "successful" but still won't allow videos to play.
Based on perusal of thread, opened register to check on "kill-bit", found no indication it was set.
What should I do next?

Yes it was terrible, but Dell (Solution Station, paid support) made this sickening experience bearable. Right now I have McAfee Total Protection 2011 for what it's worth (ya gotta have something) and I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free version) twice a day to scan. The only thing it finds repeatedly is something in the registry defined as : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\...
So I can understand this, you now have Win7 on the computer? The backup files are from the XP that had the 7000 corrupted files?? When you reformatted XP, weren't those files lost? I guess what I need to know is how did those files get Installed onto the Win7 OS?
Here's the sequence of events: I back up periodically with a WD My Book Essentials external drive, assuring that the system is as clean as I can get it and otherwise operating normally. I don't do it continuously for fear that I could be backing up corrupted files right up to the point the disk crashes The back up that was used was about six weeks old. The 7000+ corrupted files were cleaned before reformatting but would have been lost regardless when the disk was reformatted. After it was reformatted and before installation of W7, the Dell reinstallation disk for XP was used. No backup files were loaded on this temporary XP system. When the W7 system was installed these backup files from the external drive were cleaned with Malwarebyes which found about 20 corrupted files. Since then only two have regularly appeared , they are in the registry defined as: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\def...
Also why wasn't the malware cleaned before reformatting?
As indicated above, it was cleaned but never used again since it was all lost with the reformatting. The reinstalled software came from a six week old backup which has worked well and shows none of the malware, except for the few Malwarebytes intially found.
One other thing, I revisited the "kill-bit" procedure. While I didn't find what you indicated, I did find these two entries with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ :
