Installing 9 over 8: how to remove 8
I installed 9 over 8 and now I have both versions on my Mac. I called Apple to ask how to remove 8, since it's taking up room.
They said, assuming that you didn't change ANY default folders when you installed 8 and 9, then simply throw away version 8 icons for Logic Pro, Logic Node and MainStage from the Applications folder. Don't throw any other things away from any other folders, as Logic 9 has overwritten the original files in those folders.
Easy.
Yes, as has been said in many threads here already, if you don't want to run the old versions, just delete the old application bundles.
However, it makes sense to keep them (for a while at least), in case you get an oddities showing up and need to revert to the previous version. It's not like they take up a huge amount of disk space...

I have uninstalled XI and re-installed LiveCycle Designer only. On re-installation, I chose not to uninstall version 9 and to do a customer set up (not installing forms central).
LiveCycle is now working along with Acrobat ProXILiveCycle Designer is no longer distributed as part of the Acrobat release. I think it is available as a separate product. At this point, Acrobat provides the AcroForm type tools (kind of hard to get to, just as in some previous versions) and the option for Forms Central. The whole focus has changed. I suspect that others may be in the same situation of trying to get their forms to interact in Acrobat or Forms Central, but at this point I do not think there is any way to back Designer forms into either of the two current formats. Not much help, but a comment in any case.

I have a power mac, the hard drive is struggling, I have a new hard drive ready to install, after I pull the old one and put the new one it's place and place the old one in the next slot ready to transfer data....how do I start this next step. Do I down load OS, and go to utililities...please just a step by step after hard drives in position.

Anyway, once you Install the new drive, you likely must Format it...

Then Install the OS & on first boot of the new install, after a step or two, avail yourself of Migration Assistant & Migrate everything. -
Safari crshes after install of ublock how to remove ublock
Have Safari 7.1.3 on mbp 13" running Maverik and added ublock from safari extensions,now safari cashes while trying to open,how can I remove ublock?
have tried restarting holding the shift key down but still will not launch,Have looked for ublock with spotlight but can not find it.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Safari/Extensions
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Launch the application and test. If there's no change, put the item you moved back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, delete the item you moved. If possible, restore it from a backup that predates the problem.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

Try hiding the Keynote app in the Trash where the Mac App Store can't see it. Then try to redownload it from your Purchases list. You should get the most recent version available.

What "app cleaner software" ? I ask because installing Photoshop over a previous version has never been a problem. Perhaps your difficulty stems from another source, eg. "cleaner software" ?
If you look in your hard drive, at the root level there is a Library. In there is a folder called Application Support, and in that you will find a folder called Adobe. Files from your previous version are there.
However, I urge you to call Adobe support to make sure you are not doing anything that would mess up other Adobe applications.

I read the article on how to remove Bing; however, it does not show up on my list of installed programs and it does not show up in the list of extenstions under "Tools" and "Addon" yet it is installed as an extention to the right of the addlress line. It is not my home page. Help!!!

The first time I synced my iphone 4 with my mac, I didn't realize that all of my photos from the iphoto library would transfer over to the phone (more than 3,000). Now, I need to remove some, as they are taking up too much space. I cannot figure out how to remove them from the phone. Just an FYI I had xcode 3.2 installed on my snow leopard system and have today just installed Lion and I just cleaned and rebuilt an App I had developed prior to the Lion install to test to see if it would work. I was told it would but wanted to make sure and it successfully rebuilt and works in the simulator.
My issue is a bit different I need to install 4.1 WITHOUT corrupting my 3.2 installation as I may have to go back to rebuild a 3.2 App as we had a fairly unique setup for our xcode. The problem as I see it currently is I do not know how LION installs things in LION xcode is an App downloaded from the App store but I need to be able to download to something other than the default directories and I am not sure if I have that option in LION when installing an App(xcode) from the App Store -

I install some webcenter available updates this morning...after restarting the JDeveloper11gR1 I am experiening error.
Can someone tell me how to remove the newly installed update so that I do not experience this errors again?As the last resort you can rename the systemxx.x.x.x.x. folder and restart jdev again. When you are asked if you like to migrate, answer no as the error is likely to be migrated too.
If this does not help you can uninstall jdev, remove the whole installation folder and reinstall jdev.
