Evening guys,
The problem is i downloaded Nokia messaging from the PC once before and was having it has a backup file on my memory card (.sisx file) and i didnt use it for a long time infact i forgotten that it was there as a backup, recently i downloaded Nokia messaging directly from email.nokia.com from my S60 browser and installed it and worked perfectly and i was using it for some time, due to some reasons i uninstalled it and today when i was browsing the memory card i found this back-up file, i installed it installation was very quick it prompted me to enter the e-mail address and password, it did all the work like "contacting mail server", "getting e-mail settings" etc.... , next it was prompting for Nokia e-mail password i entered it then it was "validating" and again it prompted to enter Nokia messaging password, it keeps on asking after i enter it finally i got fed up and downloaded it again using my phone browser from email.nokia.com it also throws some error like "apps server... error" not sure what it is exactly it came and went off in a flash on the screen
So in case if u want to uninstall nokia messaging for some reasons do we have to download each and every time to work cant it work from the existing backup or am i missing something in the process, is everyone downloading it every time u uninstall. I use N73 me

You cannot back up SMS from WP7 handsets. The only available workaround is to copy the contents of the messages in a text file and save that to PC.

Nokia Messaging still not working.

I have been trying to set up Nokia Messaging for a few days now. I've read all the info I can find on the net regarding it - others have fixed it, but I still cannot.
Any email address I enter into the email setup wizard gives the familiar message "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again."
I have already installed the latest version of Nokia Messaging. I have tried my Ovi address, Gmail address, Hotmail address, Yahoo! address and an 'other' address with the same result.
Logging on to email.nokia.com with a PC allows me to enter my mobile number (with and without the '0' at the beginning of my Australian mobile) and choose my phone (N97). Clicking next opens a page which advises me to log on to email.nokia.com with my mobile browser. Doing so brings me to a download page for the latest version of messenger which I already have.
I cannot log in to Nokia Messenger online as I cannot create an account. Attempting to sign up brings me back to the enter your mobile number and choose your phone page. Dead end.
Please let me know how to solve this.

I am having this same issue. I've downloaded the newest version of nokia messaging from the browser on my N97. I enter in all my email information, it downloads my email to my phone, but in a very primative format. (it connects, but does not remain connected. Each time i leave my messaging folder I have to disconnect.)
When I enter my logon on the email.nokia.com site, it tells me (The user name and password you entered do not match any accounts on record. Please make sure that you have correctly entered the first email address you used when you signed up for Nokia Messaging.) -
My friend has an N97, and his nokia messaging is a very different look than mine, it pushes email to his phone at any time,.. it's what I'm looking for.
He set up his nokia messaging on my phone, and it downloaded his email, set up nokia messaging etc.. but with all his data. (he lauched if from his active email.nokia.com logon on his PC)
Once I deleted his info, and tried to set up my account, - NO GO, back to the same old problem I had. So the 'application' does function on my phone, its proven to... its something to do wtih my account not being able to be created. Nokia phone support had NO idea how to assist.

my .json file isn't corrupted cause it was saved on another partition before formatting my OS.
Please don't tell me that my bookmarks are lost :( cause i had many important things in that bookmarks, on 100.s pages :( ....

Can you restore that JSON backup in a new profile?
Did you make sure that it is really a JSON backup and that there is no missing or hidden other file extension?
A JSON backup starts with: {"title":"","id":1,"dateAdded"
A HTML backup starts with: <!DOCTYPE NETSCAPE-Bookmark-file-1>
You can try if you can restore that JSON backup in a new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I tried restoring json backup in new profile, but nothing, i couldn't restore, cause that stupid error from screen shot which i posted again appears !
Man i'm not totally noob i repeat 2nd time here, and normally that i know to create new profile, and that i tried that, but that didn't help!

If you really do not have enough space on your HDD for a backup of your iPad, you do not have enough space at all. Free up at least 15% of your HDD, in any case more than 0.8GB for the iPad update.
Make backups on an external disk.
After freeing up enough space, try again.

The problem was cured by going to <user>/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and moving the files from that folder to desktop and the ipad backed up and the software installed

Trying to install Nokia Messaging but keeps coming...

Im trying to install the new Nokia Messaging on a brand new E63 with firmware 200.21.012.
I register in the web page for Nokia Messaging but the SMS with the download link never comes, so when I try to download it from my mobile browser, it installs a Email and Email setup application but when I run them, its the regular Nokia Email and not the new Nokia Messaging.
Anybody seen this before? know how to fix it?

You can download the Nokia Messaging application directly from handsets web browser. Go to Web, enter email.nokia.com. You will find a link to download the application to the handset. Open the link & download the application.

How to install Nokia Messaging Software (Push and Pull email) on SD CARD?
I have got Nokia Push email instaled on NOKIA 6110 Navigator. This instalation take all of my phone internal memory, and mailbox is in phone internal memory too. How to install or move program or mailbox to SD card?

I'm surprised that Nokia will spend all that effort to miss out on one little detail - EMAILS WITH ATTACHMENTS TAKES UP A LOT OF SPACE - The least they could do was allow us to point the application storage to the SDHC card.
I love the messaging app, but I just can't afford to give up so much phone memory - So it is not getting installed until we can point storage to the SDHC card.

Nokia Messaging installing correctly on N95

I tried forseveral times installing Nokia Messaging on my N95 (including after firmwarere-install) and every time the same thing happens: I download the program from email.nokia.com(I don’t receive the SMS), install it, insert the User/ Pwd, the programcreates a E-Mail Box in the phone and that’s it. If I click the “Email” icon,the screen just blinks and nothing happens (no program opens). The phone wasbought unlocked, at a Nokia Retailer in NYC. What is happening? Is this NokiaMessaging all about configuring the default e-mail box? If so, how would thisnew “push e-mail” be configured (the phone has built-in a configurable e-mail retrievalroutine).

However, I could not test it because I am not receiving the SMS msg. I am currently living in Brazil. Does any body knows if Nokia has an agreement with TIM in Brazil to send SMS? I have already received other SMSs from Nokia in this line...

When I try to download from the mobile phone browser and I try to install, I get the "regular" email application and not the new one. The phone is a E63 with SW Version 200.21.012.

HELP! Lost ALL my bookmarks & Bookmark Toolbar is empty. Attempts to restore from the backup files yields an error message that says, "Unable to process the backup file." Have tried opening nearly all 10 existing backups w/same result.

I was in the midst of a Firefox session w/two windows open. Nothing special about the sites. No fancy javascripts or anything. When I closed the second window and opened the "History, Show all History" pull-down, the Library screen had no data in it.
I looked for the Bookmarks.html file in my profile and it is missing. I tried renaming an old .bak file from a couple years ago and I can open it as a file and see the text of it displayed but Firefox will not recognize it as and open it as the Backups file.
Following the directions already posted - using "History, Show all History" then the "Import and Backup, Restore" process - allows Firefox to see all the backups, but trying to restore from any of them yields the "Unable to process the backup file" error message.
I have re-started my machine from a cold start - twice now.

Nokia Messaging is firmware. Did you update with Nokia Software Updater?

You can also try to download the latest version on your phone. Open the browser of your E72 and go to http://email.nokia.com

Nokia Messaging Integration

Hopefully i'm not posting something that has already been discussed....
I had to reinstall the Nokia Messaging application into my phone, and when i did, instead of doing the usual setup the way it did in Beta, the Messaging integrated itself with the native application, which icorporates all of the original nokia settings and configurations. It looks to me like becasue of that, the push option has been effectively eliminated. Is there any way to get back to the original settings of that new messaging program? I definitely found it better than the original nokia messaging that came on the phone. Any help would be appreciated.

dear bigdog, i tried what you suggested, but it didn't work out. i went to Messaging -> Option -> Setting -> Email -> Default mailbox, there is only one account called "Email". As you can see from Fig. 1 attached, when I tried to edit "Email", nothing happens, as if "Email" doesn't exist. However, I do have a Gmail account in use. Also, as you can see from Fig. 2 attached, in Messaging (the built-in one, not the installed newest one with HTML support), there is a "Mailbox" icon, meaning no email account was configured. whenever i click on it, it will ask me to type in account info and setup a new Gmail account. once i did so, but it turned out that on my home screen, there are two email clients showing info from one Gmail account (one client is built-in, the other one client is the newest "colorful-interfaced" Nokia Messaging 1.1 with HTML support). now i am using only the newest one. thanks so much for your help!

How (and where) can I create a new Nokia Messaging...

Hi,
I just got a new E7 which I am currently pretty happy with, however when I go to email.nokia.com I only see a log-in form for the existing customers. Where can new users register and how can I do it? I can see that there is a Nokia Mail by Yahoo, but cannot find anything useful about push-mail there.
(Added later)I have successfully added a Google mail as a push mail to my phone and it IS WORKING,but I would like to add also our mail server but I cannot (I get a message that the password is wrong however it isn't since I can add the mailbox as POP3). After reading a lot of tutorials I SHOULD be able to log in to email.nokia.com with the first push-mail login credentials (in my case of google mail), however I get an error when trying to do so.

Nokia Messaging account should be automatically created when you add a new mailbox to your email client. All account management and configuration are handled within the Nokia Messaging clients on the Nokia device. If you want to have Nokia Mail account, please see here.
To set up Hotmail or Gmail in Exchange ActiveSync, perform the following steps:
Go to the Mail application and select New mailbox.
Preparing for setup is displayed.
Select Exchange ActiveSync.
Enter your email address, password, username and domain.
Connecting server is displayed.
Enter the server name when requested.
For Gmail Setup use the following values:
User Name: full email address (for example [email protected])
Domain: google
Mail for Exchange server: m.google.com
