Installing a new ipod after having used another

I bought an ipod about three days ago and I installed it and put music on it. The ipod crashed so I got a new one. My itunes doesn't show any trace of it being connected. The only tabs it shows are Library, Store and PLaylists. I dont know how to make the ipod tab show up in any way. Can someone help me with this?

Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting document? It may be of some help: iTunes 7 for Windows doesn't recognize iPod

You will need to Upgrade to Snow Leopard to get a Compatible version of iTunes to Sync your Device.
    Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...

  • Installing LR on a Mac computer after having used the license on a Windows PC

    Hey guys,
I just got my copy of LR yesterday after having used the trial version for a while. I'm using LR on a Windows computer, but I'm considering switching to an iMac some time from now. Will I still be able to use the same copy of LR on that computer, perhaps after uninstalling the software from my Windows pc?

And no need to uninstall. Lightroom doesn't use the Photoshop method of keeping track of your installs. You are on the honour system here, and you're allowed two installs, anyway.

iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.

    How crap is that?
    It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer.

I am trying to install a new iPod Shuffle and my pc does not pick it up.
My operating system is Windows 8.1 and windows 8 does not appear
in the list of operating systems.

You are referring to OFFICE 2010, not Windows XP or 7.
And which version of Windows do you have?
NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

Then most likely it is not caused by Adobe Reader.

In the email you want to print, on the top right there is an arrow. Click that and an option should appear that says print. That should work. Have you already tried that?

  • Unable to use installed Flash Builder 4 after having uninstalled Trial

I have been using the Flash Builder 4 trial for a while now, and have since purchased a version of the software to use on my project.  However, despite having uninstalled the trial version and run the recommended registry cleaning scripts, whenever I install the purchased version of Flash Builder 4 and try to use it, I see the splash screen for the trial version coming up.
It has an option to enter a serial number, six sets of four digits each, but the serial number on the back of the my Flash Builder 4 disc case is only eight digits long total, and doesn't fit that space.  Even then, I would not expect to see the splash screen, which explicitly mentions the trial, coming up after having uninstalled the trial.
If in uninstall the paid version, running eclipse does not cause the splash screen to appear.  However, as soon as I do install it, and try to run with it, the trial version spalsh screen appears again.
I had asked for help preivously, case number: #0203692609
But the registry cleaning programs I was recommended there have not stopped the issue.

    Hi Richard,
I think the serial number keys are always 24-digits long, so the 8-digit number you found must be something else. If you look around at the rest of your product packaging, you should be able to locate the 24-digit number you can use.
    More info here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/828/cpsid_82828.html
The Trial mode you're seeing is expected until after you activate the product with your SN.

  • Installing a new iPod on a computer with another iPod already authorized

I already have one iPod authorized for this computer. My wife has a new ipod that is not getting recognized. Should I deauthize the computer to get her ipod recognized? Thanks!

No that shouldn't make a difference. Read this info from Apple. Using multiple iPods on one computer. I normally use four different iPods off my computer and only had to authorize the computer itself once.

  • HT1212 my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - never used - she entered a passcode then immediately forgot it and now she has tried to enter one too many times and ipod is locked for 1 hour - she has never synced with itunes HELP

my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - latest one - she started to input a passcode then didn't finish the process then turned off ipod. she turned it back on and it is asking for a passcode - she doesn't remember what she typed. Ipod is now disabled for one hour. Can we override the disable. How do we reset passcode when we don't klnow the original. It has never been synced to Itunes. I am completely lost.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.

  • My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore on it and it is working fine now. However, when I did the restore it did not load the Nike   app that was factory installed on my ipod. I use this app daily. Any idea how to get it back

My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore to factory conditions and it is working fine now. However, it originally had a factory installed Nike+ app on it and it did not install with the restore. I use this app daily with the running chip to log my workouts. Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.

If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.
The Nike app you can download/install
Nike+ Running for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad on the iTunes App Store
Does work on the iPOd. You just do not get all the information that GPS/cellular connection can get. You will still be able to get distance/footstrikes like the installed app an you do not need the shoe sensor.. It uses the built-in sensors on the iPod

  • HT4859 why when i installed my new ipod with icloud did all my music go off my itunes?

I Previously bought a new iPod and I installed it on my iTunes with iCloud but when I recently went onto iTunes most of my music has gone but it's all ok on my iPod because of iCloud, how do I transfer it all onto my iTunes again? Thanks

If you are using iTunes Match, your music should already be in your iTunes library.  If you aren't, you can transfer music purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library by first authorizing your computer for all Apple IDs used to purchase the music in Store>Authorize This Computer, then connecting the iPod to your computer and in iTunes going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
If you no longer have the old iPod, you'll have to redownload your previoulsy purchased music from the iTunes store, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.
