Installing a subscription copy of FrameMaker 12

My manager recently purchased a subscription version of FrameMaker 12. I downloaded the files to my local computer and clicked the Set-up application file so that I could begin the installation process. A Welcome dialog displays with two options: Install and Try (for tral version).
Since this is not a trial version, I selected the "Install" option. The problem with this is that after I click Accept for the Adobe Software License Agreement, the next panel asks for a serial number. My manager said he was not given a serial number for the subscription copy. So how do I proceed to install FrameMaker? Have I gone about the installation process incorrectly? I'll need help with this one since I definitely need to download FrameMaker soon to work on my current project.
Please advise. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

if he downloaded the subscription installation file, you should be prompted for the adobe id used to make the purchase:
During the course of your purchase and installation, you are asked to create or enter an Adobe ID. An Adobe ID is simply your email address.
When you install your software, you are required to enter the same Adobe ID that you used to subscribe to:
Help ensure that the person who subscribed is the same person who is installing the software
Enable Adobe to send you important account information if your subscription is about to expire or cannot be charged
Adobe respects your privacy and sends you information about other Adobe products or services only if you explicitly opt in for such messages.
Ensure that your Adobe ID is your current active email address. If not, update it.

  • Iam unable to instal my subscription copy of Adobe Xl Pro on my second laptop.  I have a farm out of town where I leave this second laptop to save weekly transporting between town and farm.  The instal falters at the end of the installation process.

    No further details are needed.

    Hi country cat,
Are you still facing this issue? What is the name and version of Operating system on that laptop?
You may attach the screen shot of the problem you are facing.

  • I have installed a trail version of FrameMaker 12 and cannot open the book and chapter files in FrameMaker 8

    Hi
My colleague and I use FrameMaker 8 but I'm considering whether it would be a good idea to upgrade to FrameMaker 12. So today I installed a trail version of FrameMaker 12.
Before opening a book file in FM12, I copied it to another folder so I wouldn't mess up anything. Unfortunately, I forgot to copy the chapter files so I opened most of them from FM12. As soon as I found out about it, I copied them to the new folder, but too late.
Now I'm not able to open the original files from FM8 (and even worse, neither can my colleague). I read somewhere else, that I should save the book file in the .MIF format (I tried both 12 and 7.0) and then open it from FM8. I tried that, but I still cannot open the chapter files.
I get an error message saying: "Althoug xxx.fm appears to be a FrameMaker document, it can't be opened with this release of the product".
I didn't make any changes to the chapter files when I looked at them in FM 12.
What should I do? I case we decide not to upgrade, we will not be able to access this book which is a big problem. I already have some small changes that have to be made.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Back saving to MIF should work, but it’s probably faster to just retrieve a backup of the FM8 files & books and restore them over your botched FM12 versions. Then take a copy of that backup and put it on the trial machine to play away without impacting anything else.

  • I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.  I get the message "Adobe Lightroom 1.  Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already

I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.
I get the message “Adobe Lightroom 1.  Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already exists on this disk”
If it is here – I cannot find it anywhere, and I don’t believe that I ever installed it.
I have ordered the upgrade to Lightroom 5.0 and figured that I should install Lightroom 1.0 first.
How can I solve this problem

Actually when LR 5 starts for the first time after it is installed it will have a dialog to Buy, Try or Enter a serial number. You select Enter a serial number and enter the LR 5 serial number first and then because it is an upgrade serial number it will ask for the serial number of a Previous version. You then enter the LR 1 serial number.

  • My updates are failing.  Adobe application manager may be damaged.  I have downloaded and installed a new copy and the problem persists.   Please help.

I am trying to update Photoshop CS6 in order to read my camera's RAW files.  It is a camera that is supported by Adobe Photoshop CS6.  However, when I try to get the Adobe Application Manager to update the software, it fails to do so.  (The spinning wheel tells me it is checking for updates and then quits, saying that "Update Failed - Updates could not be applied.  Adobe Application Manager may be damaged.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.")
I have tried to reinstall the Adobe Application Manager 8.0, which gives me the following error message "We've encountered the following issues.  Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  However, when I go to the link provided to download the Adobe Support Advisor, this piece of software NO LONGER EXISTS. "
The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued
The Adobe Support Advisor tool was used to analyze installer log and system information associated with installation errors. The tool has been replaced with improved installation support mechanisms. Please visit Adobe Support section for Knowledge base articles around Installation."
So, I have gone to the forums and took the recommended step to update my software manually - getting the update Photoshop_CS6_13_0_6upd-2.dmg.  However, this update also fails stating that my Adobe Application Manager may be damages.  Download and install a new copy of Adobe Application Manager.  Which puts me right back where I started.
I have also taken the step of completely reinstalling Photoshop CS6.  This did not solve the problems outlined above.
    Please help!

if that fails, uninstall ps, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and reinstall.  then use the manual updates.

  • The computer I use at work is a PC. I know you are allowed to install the programs on two computers, one work computer and one laptop. My laptop is a Mac. Is it possible to install the second copy on a Mac?

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum for this question, but I don't know where else to ask about installing on cross platforms. So, the computer I use at work is a PC. I know you are allowed to install the programs on two computers, one work computer and one laptop. My laptop is a Mac. Is it possible to install the second copy on a Mac?

    Which Adobe product exactly?
    Cloud: yes.
    Creative Suite: no.

  • How to format and install a fresh copy of Mac OS 10.6.4, with another MacBook CD, because i lost the one that came with mine, thanks.

Dear user, can i format and install a fresh copy of Mac OS 10.6.4, with another MacBook CD, because i lost the one that came with mine, thanks.

As you need to be on 10.6 to be able access the App Store to download Lion, either get replacement discs via Applecare (you'll need the MBP's serial number to get the right ones) or get the SL retail disc. I would recommend the Original disc replacement set (assuming they were 10.6) as they carry not onlyApple Hardware Test for your model, but the iLife apps other bundled sftware that isn't on the retail disc.
Once you've installed, and used Software Update to get to 10.6.8, you can then get Lion if you're feeling masochistic.

Yeah.  I remember when I had that board.  I found the best SATA ports were the Promise ones, but...
What do you think, Tiresmoke?  You had the same board too if I'm not mistaken.

  • I don't have the option of installing a clean copy of Snow Leopard

I'm new to Mac and have been exploring different programs that would fulfill the same functions as the programs I had been using on Vista. Unfortunately, my computer got a little wonky somewhere along the way and I want to remedy it by erasing the hard drive and installing a clean copy of Snow Leopard. I've looked in my owner's manual as well as several websites online. They all tell me to select something either from a tab or an Options menu but there isn't one. When I reach the Select Destination window, I have the option to customize what is installed (i.e. Quicktime, Rosetta, etc.), go back and continue. Is it not possible or something???

it's possible but there is likely no need to do this. what exactly is wrong with your computer? a simple reinstall of snow leopard on top of your current system will cure many ills and will preserve your data and applications. and many problems can be solved without reinstalling at all.
but if you insist on doing a wipe and install boot from the SL install DVD and start disk utility from utilities menu at the top. erase your hard drive using the erase tab in disk utility. then quit disk utility and proceed with the install. and if you do reinstall I suggest you back up your data first. otherwise it will be completely wiped when you erase your hard drive. and you should always back up anyway.

Can I install a second copy of photoshop elements 2.0 on my partners laptop? and can she use it also?

    Wow, Thanks for the answer,
As some software has multiple user limitations, i wanted to check that out, in case your only meant to install on only one computer,
so its okay for my partner to use it to?
And also, is it alright to make money from using photoshop elements 2.0?
Do you recommend any free up dates to elements 2.0?
    Thanks

  • Need to install a second copy (per EULA)

I have a single user license for RoboHelp 7. I need to
install a second copy of the software on my laptop. Have not been
    successful yet.
Section 2.5 ("Portable or Home Computer Use") of the EULA
expressly permits a single license user to install a second copy of
the software on a laptop. However, the software activation
mechanism prevents this. I installed the software, but it will not
run until activated. Attempts to activate it result in an error
about the software license already being activated and giving me
the choice of deactivating the copy on my desktop (my main
    machine).
I have only a limited time need for this second copy. The
very specific purpose is to have a copy of the software on my
laptop to show my RoboHelp work to potential employers during
interviews. This complies with the EULA as I would not be using the
software simultaneously on my other computer at home. Once I get a
job, I have no need for this second copy and would uininstall it.
Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

    Welcome to the forum.
Indeed you can install on a second machine but without doubt
the copy you are using has been activated twice already. This can
occur if your machine has been reformatted and you did not
deactivate first. Maybe your desktop machine was changed and you
installed on the new machine without deactivating on the old one.
Could a colleague have installed it to take a look?
Go back to the activation screen and it will advise you what
to do. You need to phone the number that you can find there and
explain the problem. I had this after a hard disk failure and was
    given an activation number.

  • How do I install a fresh copy of WinXP SP on Protege 2000

I have this P2000 since a month, which has a running version of Windows XP Professional. As it had encountered problems and frequent crashes and delayed reboot and gotten to become slow to a point where booting it up to see the windows desktop seems like an achievement.
I took the necessary back up, and now am planning to install a fresh copy. I burned a Bootable CD containing to set up files and tried booting the P2000 with an USB-CD/DVDROM. I even changed the bios setting to boot from the CD-ROM, and yet it fails to boot. It says some error.
My HDD is MK2003GAH 1.8 inch.
The CD-RW/DVD Drive is H.L Data Storage Model No. GCC-4241N TYPE GYGO REV. SO FW:OP34
    Intel(R) Boot Agent Version 4.0.10
    Copyright(C
PXE-E61: Media test failure, Check Cable
    PXE-MOF: Existing Intel PXE ROM.
and proceeds to load windows XP for more than 25 minutes and restarts again.
Yes, I read through a couple of threads on how one could use a PCMCIA and all. But I am clueless. Please Help.
    Thank you.
    Samir

    the problem is :
1 : the bios of your portege only recognizes a few CDrom devices
2 : the installation procedure of Windows XP doesn't know how to cope with the external CDrom devices
the only way is to go back to a DOS environment ( fat32 ) and load the proper drivers for your USB-CDrom from a floppy-disk and than start the DOS-installation of XP ( winnt.exe )

  • When I tried to open PS CC2014, it flashed a bit then quit, same with DW and INDD ... I also got this error message: Adobe creative cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the C

This morning when I tried to open my CC2014 Photoshop, it started to open, then quit suddenly. Same with Dreamweaver and InDesign. I am a professional and do not have the time to screw around with this. When I tried to run CC app, I get an error that says "Adobe creative cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud from 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'." I did so and tried to run the app and got the same error. I tried the cleaner and it removed all of my apps, then I tried to install again, and got the same error. I am getting desperate now, I have clients waiting for their projects. I need help, please.

Allisonf55952352 have you utilized the steps listed in Error: "Failed to install" | Creative Cloud Desktop to resolve the current error?  If not do you have any questions regarding the steps listed with the document?

  • How to install the same copy of creative suite on the second computer?

Basically I am using a Macbook Pro and upgraded my hard disk. A
After I have recovered the data using time machine, I was unable to access my CS6 applications, which all became trial version. So I would like to know how to install the same copy of creative suite on the new drive.

Transferring does not usually work - you need to install using installation files, the same way you originally installed the program(s).

Here is Adobe's statement on Lion Compatability.
As crh24 pointed out you may also have trouble activating it if ownership wasn;t transferred properly.
