Installing Adobe Acrobat 9 on new computers

I replaced two office computers this week.  Trying to install Acrobat 9 on the new computers.  Getting "Adobe's records indicate that this serial number has already been used to set up and activate Adobe Premiere Elements <version number> on two other machines, which is the maximum allowed."  And I must "launch" the application on the two old computers and "deactivate" Adobe Acrobat 9.  I didn't keep the old hard drives.  Help?

In that case, you will need to explain the problem to Adobe and get them to adjust the activation records they have. Be aware that AA9 is likely not certified for new systems and you may have to deal with work arounds to get things working correctly, particularly on 64-bit systems. It might be a good time to upgrade to the newer Acrobat (AA9 is the oldest version for the current upgrade). In that case, you should only need the old SN (don't through it away) to install the upgrade.

I try to install Adobe Acrobat on my new computer, but I get a message that the serial number (the one I found in My Account) is invalid.
I have already deactivated Adobe Acrobat on my old computer.

first make sure you are installing the right product from the original disks/saved download, as there are multiple similar products. Did you buy direct from Adobe?

  • How do I reactivate and install Adobe Acrobat on a new computer without the original disk?

I am moving to a new computer and the Acrobat disk I used to have got lost somewhere in the office environment... so, how do I deactivate Acrobat on my old computer and activate/install it ion my new computer without the original disk?

If you were using the same serial number then, yes. You are only allowed two installs and they should be on computers used by the licensee (you).
You would need to deactivate on any additional computers if this is the case.
Just an FYI, you are in the Adobe Reader forum. If this doesn't work, you'll want to head to the Acrobat forum where you'll find more experienced users.

  • Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on a new laptop, but it doesn't accept my serial number

    Hello,
On my old laptop I had installed and licensed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I retired my old laptop and bought a new one. I want to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 now on the new one. But seemingly my serial number is not accepted any more. That's what I did so far
    1. Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html
    2. Retrieved my serial number from Adobe ID (it matched what I have found out locally on my old computer)
    2. Started the installation
    3. Entered my serial number when asked for. Then I get a message "Invalid Serial Number"
    Who can help please?
    Best regards,

RolfSchlagenhaft there are no registered Adobe software titles under the account you are posting to the Adobe forums with.  You will want to attempt to locate the account which has your registered serial number.  You can find more details at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.  If you need assistance locating the account which contains your serial number then please contact our support team at Contact Customer Care.
Finally if you have a volume license for Acrobat 9 Professional then the installation files are only available at https://licensing.adobe.com/.  The installation files you downloaded are for the retail version of Acrobat 9 Professional.  This may be another cause of you receiving the message that your serial number is invalid.

  • Installing Adobe Acrobat Pro on Laptop & New PC

Previously submitted on 9/02/12 but pressed for an answer quickly, please.
I have previously installed Adobe Acrobat Pro on a laptop and a desktop computer. I had to replace the desktop with a new system having Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.  I have installed the Windows XP Virtual system to run several legacy programs crucial to my business.  I have installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5 in the Windows 7 operating system and now need it installed in the XP Virtual system to access the Adobe printer for use with the legacy programs. How do I accomplish this feat?
Does the XP virtual installation count as a 3rd installation which is not allowed by my license even though this computer is the 2nd computer permitted by my license? If so, it seems I might be penalized.
Help, please. Is there an option in lieu of purchasing a new license?
Thanks in advance for all responses.

I am from Middle-east - Saudi Arabia,  waiting since 4 days to Re-install Adobe Acrobat XI on my New Laptop, sent several messages on Adobe Help emails, No answers.
My Laptop was stolen from my Car, and it had a licensed version of Adobe Prof XI on it, how can I re-install the same version on my New-Laptop,
I tried downloading again, but the message says the time limit has expired for downloading .
    Can anyone help ????

    Hi meprof,
So sorry to hear that your laptop was stolen. You can try downloading from this page: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.
If you had the perpetual (not subscription) version, you may need to deactivate Acrobat on that old computer. Since you no longer have that computer, please Contact Customer Care so that they can help deactivate it.

  • How can I install Adobe Acrobat without installing the browser extensions?

    Hello All,
I am a computer Technician at a high school and we have very strict browser requirements for different services. We need to use Adobe Acrobat to convert PDF's, and other tasks, and we need to use Chrome to open Adobe Reader files. The issue is that I want my 3 browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox) to open PDF files using Adobe Reader XI. All my plugin settings are correct to use Adobe Reader to open PDF's, but it either downloads a PDF to the computer, or opens up in the browsers default reader (Chrome does this), or opens up to a blank page with a blank error message. I went into the programs Internet settings for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat and it's telling me the browser opens them up using Adobe Acrobat (With no option to change the setting). The problem is only solved when I uninstall Adobe Acrobat. Then I am able to open PDF's in Adobe Reader just like I want (but this gets rids of Acrobat). This leads me to believe that when I install Adobe Acrobat, there is a registry key or something that is telling the computer to open PDF's in browsers using Acrobat. My initial question is this: How can I install adobe Acrobat without linking it to the browser. I JUST want Adobe Acrobat as a program installed on the computer.
    Additional Info:
    - I build a computer image and use that image on several computers. This issue persists with all of the computers I installed the image on.
    - I am using Adobe Reader 11 (Now DC, but I am willing to use either) and Adobe Acrobat Pro CS3 (I think it's version 9?)
    Thanks for the help.
    - Charlie

  • PDFMaker in Excel 2010 does not appear after installing Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard for a user here at work on her computer with Windows XP and Office 2010 installed. She wanted the feature and/or plug-in that allows her to "Save as Adobe PDF" in Excel 2010 and then able to add/remove pages from a spreadsheet in Excel 2010 like this:
Which brings it to this screen:
We saw this feature with someone who has Acrobat X Standard. Is this feature available in Acrobat 9? If so, how do we enable it? We updated Acrobat 9 and nothing showed up.

The PDFMaker function of Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Office 2010: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html
You can use Acrobat 9 to create PDF files though by choosing File > Print within Excel and selecting the Adobe PDF printer.
Wish I had better news for you!

    - recently re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 on my new Mac (OSX version 10.9.3)
    - after re-installing Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 an icon called Adobe PDF 9.0 shows up under Printers and Scanners
    - every single time I want to scan, my printer/scanner Brother automatically chooses Adobe PDF 9.0 as printer/scanner, although my printer/scanner Brother is set as standard printer/scanner
    - did bring the issue under attention of Customer Service who directed me to this website

    Hi Pieter,
Acrobat 9 has not been tested and is unsupported Mac Mavericks.
You might face compatibility issues with it.
