Installing after broken installation

Hello everybody! Please help me to solve this problem.
I tried to install iTunes, the installation was not finished because of emergency reboot. Next try of installation: installation wizard refuses to install iTunes explaining that "can`t install it because the copied file already exists".
Of course, dear wizard, it exists - you installed it there - I try to expain it to him but he, as you can guess, doesn`t react

Assuming you have Metalink access, check out the following note:
Note.739737.1 Ext/Pub Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) for Windows Instant Client Fix for 11.1.0.7 Patchset
There's a "fix" for that problem that puts the install back in working order (however still leaves it in a bit of a mess). If that concerns you, you can remove the ODAC software, install a full 11106 client, patch it to 11107, and get the same ODP functionality as in the ODAC bundle.
Hope it helps,
Greg

  • JavaFX 2.2 not installing after JDK7u6 installation on Windows 7 x64

Please everybody ignore this message of mine, I've had a D'OH! moment! This new installation of JDK7u6 has completely thrown me
because of the existing documentation, as some of the documentation still states the following:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/installation_2-2/javafx-installation-windows.htm#CJGGCFBH
As on this page it still has the following documented:
    +"Installing JavaFX+
    +Note:+
+Only one version of the JavaFX SDK and JavaFX Runtime can be installed at a time. The JavaFX Runtime installer will automatically uninstall previous versions.+
+Run the .exe file of whichever installer you downloaded. If you use a bundled installer, the installers run in the following order:+
    +Java Development Kit (JDK)+
    +Java Runtime Environment (JRE)+
    +JavaFX Software Development Kit (SDK)+
    +JavaFX Runtime+
+The default installation directory for the JavaFX 2.2 SDK is C:\Program Files\Oracle\JavaFX 2.2 SDK. See JavaFX SDK File Structure for the directories and contents.+
    +The default installation directory for the JavaFX 2.2 Runtime is C:\Program Files\Oracle\JavaFX 2.2 Runtime."+
And I guess I was still expecting to see the JavaFX installer following the JDK installer during installation. When this didn't happen I was searching my system for the
above installation path C:\Program Files\Oracle\JavaFX 2.2, and of course I had no entry for this, hence my earlier post. Talk about a trap for young players!
I installed both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the JDK 7 update 6 SDK. Both installed JDK7u6 successfully, but both failed to initialise
the JavaFX 2.2 installation wizard. I've checked through Control Panel and JDK7u6 are listed there, but no mention of JavaFX 2.2 anywhere?
Before installation I made sure to uninstall JavaFX 2.1 from the Control Panel before installing JDK7u6. So what do I do now?

    @863626:
I actually did the same as you did: I uninstalled the JDK, the JRE, and JavaFX before installing JDK 7u6, and the JDK 7u6 installer installed the JDK and the JRE, but not JavaFX.
After reading the info you quoted in your post, I tried the following: uninstall everything, reinstall the 7u5 kit, which installed JavaFX 2.1.1, then uninstall the JDK and JRE 7u5 but leave JavaFX there, and reinstall JDK 7u6.
The JDK and JRE 7u6 were properly reinstalled, but the JavaFX installation was not upgraded to 2.2.0 as expected.
Moreover, I noticed that in the windows displayed after the JRE 7u5 is installed, the button present at the bottom is labelled "Continue" and leads to the JavaFX installation wizard.
In the equivalent window of the JDK/JRE 7u6 installer, the button present at the bottom is labelled "Close" and terminates the wizard without installing any JavaFX kit or component.
Conclusion: You did not have a D'OH moment — the JDK 7u6 installer either really misses the JavaFX kit or really has a bug in its installation sequence!
And by the way, I reproduced the bug with the 64-bit Windows installer on a 64-bit Windows 7 platform.
    Anyone at Oracle can help?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

After installing itunes 10 installation was successful but then tells me error 2 (windows error 2).

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunesSetup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • After Installing - Cannot Complete Installs for Programs

I installed Snow Leopard and it seemed to be running fine after I granted myself Admin access again.
However, I tried running the installs for multiple programs including a security update to the OS, iLife and iWork - the installs get to "Preparing Installation" and freeze.
I have tried leaving some of these installs up for up to 48 hours and there is no progress.
Yahoo Messenger also freezes on sign in with a similar problem.
How do I fix this so that I may use Yahoo Messenger and run installs again?

I suggest you might try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If this doesn't help any, then reinstall SL.
To upgrade iLife and iWork you will have to purchase the '09 versions. There is no free upgrade path from '08 versions.

  • Flash won't install after downloading...early 2013 MBP/Retina, 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Ram, 3GHz Intel Core i7 Processor (clean installation)

Flash Player won’t install after downloading
On the first attempt to install v14, Flash Player v13 was installed and working fine.
I opened the installation package for the new Flash Player, followed standard protocol for installing Mac software and it hung before retrieving anything.
Subsequently, while watching the beach ball spin, I got an error message that the installer could not retrieve the v13 Flash Player software.
So I uninstalled Flash Player 13 and again attempted to install v14, only to see the spinning beach ball followed by a message that the installer could not retrieve the v14 Flash Player software.
    I am running OS X v10.9.4 on an early 2013 MBP/Retina display with 3GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz Ram.
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding my issue, please let me know.
    Sincerely.

Thank you for all of your answer.

I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
    Reset PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

As far as I know there is no download resource for older Macromedia programs and it is highly unlikely that one as old as version 3 of Fireworks will be able to work on a Windows 8.1 system.  I was unable to get a Studio 8 version installation on a Vista system, and likely even an XP system (cannot remember that far back).

    Hi kensb!
I would recommend that you attempt to reinstall all of the programs and components of iTunes on your machine and reinstall everything again. It can be tricky to get everything uninstalled, so we have an article that can help you make sure you uninstall everything:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
Specifically, when it comes to uninstalling, you will want to uninstall applications in this order:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer.
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.
You will then want to follow the links in those articles to download the latest package of iTunes software for your computer and install again from there. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

  • Installing Sybase SQL Anywhere license keys after initial installation.

    Hi,
I installed Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 before I actually received the valid License Key. So during the installation I've used the license key provided by the instructions.  Afterwards, I've received the purchase license key.  Do i need to reinstall SQL Anywhere all over?  Or can it just continue to function on that license key?  From what i understand, I can not change the license key after the installation was complete.  I would have to completely uninstall and re-install SQL Anywhere 16. Is that correct?
    Thanks
    Aron

    Hi Aron,
I would have to completely uninstall and re-install SQL Anywhere 16. Is that correct?
No, you don't have to do this in SQL Anywhere 16 - you can change SQL Anywhere editions by changing the license key on the accompanying server executable license file (e.g. dbsrv16.lic) with the Server Licensing Utility (dblic). You can use the "-k" switch in order to specify a new key:
    dblic -k <reg_key> dbsrv16.lic

    Hi,
to see the cause of Windows 8 update failures, we must look for error messages in the following log files:
Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log"
to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here.
