Installing Agfa Duoscan T1200 scanner with latest OS X (10.4.8)

Does anyone know if it is possible to install my Agfa Duoscan T1200 scanner in my G4 without causing much trouble?
My G4 has a Ultra SCSI card installed. When I check the contents of my PCI Cards it says that I have ADPT,2930CU installed. I am assuming that is the Adaptec 2930 SCSI card.
When I went to download the latest driver for the Duoscan at

there is a section that says: "Not every scanner supported!" and it says that Mac OS X 10.3 does not support the Duoscan T1200. On that site I was able to download the driver, but I don't want to install it if it will cause problems.
If I don't use FotoLook, but instead I use TWAIN from Photoshop 7.0.1, will it work?
Was anyone successful at all with this, or should I buy another scanner? I hate to do that, as this scanner works very well.

Yes, you may have to get SANE and install it. That worked fine for me.
Vuescan is another way to go and there is a third program than will work.
Google for scanning software for OS X.

Im a photographer in Patagonia. I urgently need to scan my film BUT cannot afford a new
medium format scanner.
On the Argentine equivalent of 'ebay' there is an old Agfa Duoscan T1200 going for $400 ARG Pesos/ $132 US Dollars/ £66 GBP. Its still alot to pay but in its day it was a very good scanner (for medium format and large format film scanning).
Im aware that I might have to download software to make it work BUT can anyone tell me if they've done this AND if there's a "SCSCI to USB adapter" thats possible to buy.
Also IF anyone HAS managed to make this scanner work with a MacBook or the latest Macs...what software did you use please? (Im running 10.4.11)

You are discussing just what I am dealing with about a friend. Just an early answer, is that there are SCSI-USB adaptors, costing about US$70,- to US$130,- here in USA. Have yet to find if this AGFA is supported in OSX. Can work with OS9 (Classic), will have to check if what software can be downloaded.
You are thinking of doing what I am working on my friend to get away from. Moving everything off his 10 year OS9, past his 5 year OSX to his 2.5 year OSX! Your avenue a possible but, but possibly not worth it.

I am in the process of upgrading to a new iMac and I am currently looking for any success stories on connecting and using (both in opaque and transparent mode) the venerable Agfa DuoScan T1200 SCSI scanner with Intel-based iMacs.
Has anyone around here been successful in doing this?
Options:
* SCSI to USB converter: which brands have you tried?
* Scanning software Agfa's FotoLook (running on Rosetta) or VueScan.

Image Capture does not recognize scanner with latest update of Mavericks 10.9.4

Since last week (8-5-14) after updating to OS 10.9.4 (13E28) Image Capture and Printers and Scanner (in System Prefs.) do not recognize my scanner. What the hay! Yes, my scanner is elderly but like me is in perfect working condition. Until now. I've spent hours trouble shooting, i. e., downloading EPSONPrintDriver2.18.dmg and reinstalling, a waste of time. Changing usb/firewire cables, switching usb ports, deleting pref files and cussing. The Epson web site was useless it just tells me to download updates via Apple software updates. I hate the idea of being so dammed dependant on any one organization (Apple). I've been an Apple user since the Apple 2C but I do believe that will change soon.
Anyone with a solution or replacement app for Image Capture? I don't want to spend my Social Security money on VueScan which dose work for me unless I have to.

Try resetting the printing system. It can also affect the scanner.

It is my understanding that iLife is not included with Mountain Lion, but with a new Mac... You only get it pre-installed as part of a hardware purchase.
I am not an expert, but hopefully someone else will be able to confirm this, and if correct it means you wil have to purchase iLife seperately from the Mac App Store.

Update: If you visit the online Apple store and start to order a new Mac, you will see that iLife is not included and can be added as an extra purchase.

Hold down the option key during start up - you will be given the choice of which partition to use (Macintosh HD or Windows). I am having the same problem - Windows 7 seems to have installed but it goes to a blank black screen and there is nothing to do but force a reboot. I too have an i3 iMac... To save you file click the disc icon in the tool bar or file save as:
To email the Word document to someone compose a new message and click the paper clip to attach the Document.

If you are now seeing a screen with the USB cable and an iTunes logo, you'll need to connect your iPhone to a computer with iTunes installed, provided the data on your iPhone hasn't already been lost it should back-up once it's connected in iTunes.
