Installing Air 3.7 has broken mx library

I am on mac, Flash Builder 4.6
I have downloaded the AIR 3.7 sdk. made a copy of my flex sdk then placed the sdk tbz file in there
I then ran these two commands
cd /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/flex_sdk_4.6
tar jxvf AIRSDK_Compiler.tbz2
Now when I try to change the SDK in Flash builder, i get errors where basic mx classes can't be found, like Canvas and Button. Those are imported in AS files and not used in MXML files.
Did I do something wrong in installing the SDK? I've been taking these steps since Air 3. I even tried downloading the flex SDK to start with a clean copy and still the same errors.

There are two versions of AIR 3.7 one that is compatable with Flex and Apache Flex the other is not. Make sure you download the correct one for Flex which is the smaller link under the big download page here:

Failed Boot Camp Install of Vista 32 has broken one of my RAID arrays

Attempted to install Windows through Boot Camp on my Mac Pro, I have a RocketRaid 2320 controller card, RAID was built through Disk Utility. No redundancy, I built 2 separate 1.8TB RAIDs (4 x 500MB drives) in each of 2 separate cabinets. Windows install attempt brought up the HighPoint BIOS, then failed to install Windows and I got the well-known "Select CD-ROM boot type" message. Now, one of the 2 RAID arrays appears to be broken. Disk Utility still sees all 4 drives, but only recognizes 3 of them as a RAID slice with a GUID Partition Table. The other shows up as "disk5s1" with a Master Boot Record as the partition map scheme. While much of what was on this array was redundant with the second, I have a lot of work that was only on this one, so any help in how to fix and/or reconnect the drives of this array would be incredibly appreciated!

1. I remembered RocketRaid 2320 don't provide EFI64bit from Highpoint website so you can't set boot camp.
2. Does your Highpoint raid management utility(Highpoint engineer also called WebGui)
provide any message for your broken raid?I am also a Highpoint user, I give you some suggestion:
A.(1)If your WegGui in Manage--Array show your broken raid status is "Critical"and your bad HDD, please replace bad HDD then select Maintenance items of upper right corner of the page
(2)This will open the Array Information dialog box, select Add disk button to choose the replaced HDD then press "Submit", you can rebuild your RAID array.
B.(1)If your WegGui in Manage--Array show your broken raid status "Disable", you just can use one of Webgui function--"Keep old Data"(But it still have high risks to lose your data, it is the final method to use, I suggest you try the A method best.)
(2) Select "Maintenance" items of upper right corner of the page, from the "Array Information" dialog box, select "Delete" button, and prompted a warning: the array of data will be deleted whether to continue, choose OK..
(3)Back to Manage--Array page, this time the array has been deleted, double-click the "Create Array"
button to display the page to create the disk. From the Initialization Method field select “Keep old Data”, the remaining arrays in strict accordance with the original set of parameters, the required attention parameters include: Number of RAID member disk, Array Type, Block Size, Sector Size.
(4)Click "Create", the initialization process will start automatically, RAID
recovery complete, prompts to create a successful, choose OK.
(5)See your volume in Mac Disk Utility if your data is recoveryed

You can have two separate libraries, just do not put them into the same location on the computer. You could also create a new user on the laptop, you, and then you would start out with a blank iTunes library, then just add yours to that. It would also prevent you and your girlfriend from mixing content up unless you share an Apple ID.

You most likely ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" or "MacCleanse" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system and many applications.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

That depends. What is broken on the PC? If the hard drive has failed and you do not have a backup, you will need to look into data recovery services.
It's easy to move stuff over from a working PC. One that is not functioning is a bit more difficult.

I am trying to get AIR apps running on a Huawei Ideo U8150. When I sync with AppBrain, I see Adobe Air show up as an installable App, but when I go to install the Aop, I get an "Item not found" message.
Has anyone had a more successful experience with tyring to install AIR on this model of phone?

This is not an Android 2.2 issue. Your device can't run Adobe AIR because it doesn't have a compatible processor. This is why AIR doesn't show up in the standard Android Marketplace search from that phone.
AppBrain unfortunately isn't tuning out incompatible apps, which is why you can see it there even though you can't run it. There's a few similar posts around this forum for other devices.
Devices need an ARMv7 processor, you have an ARMv6 (http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=a7201a&c=qualcomm_msm7201a).

After the update, the printer prints correctly, but scanning from the Print and Scan, Preview or Image Capture fails with "Waiting for scanner" followed be "Failed to open a session on the device." Followed by the device disappears form ImageCapture.
I've tried restarting to the computer and printer and plugging it into another USB port - the results are the same. Printer utility hangs too.
Solutions?

did you try this:
Place the item that you want to scan on the scanner glass, or load it into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) if your printer has one.
In the Applications folder or from the Dock, click Preview.
From the Preview File menu, select Import from Scanner.
Select your printer from the list. The details of the scan display.
If a 'Software for this device is not installed' message displays after you select your printer, click Install, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Click Show Details to view scan settings and options.
NOTE: Make sure that you select either the Flatbed mode or theDocument Feeder mode, depending on your printer and how you plan to scan.
Change any settings as necessary, and then click Scan.

If you have made a backup, you can use your backup copy to re-create the library on a new machine.
Or, if the problem with your current machine is the CPU rather than the hard drive, you can read the contents of the hard drive into a new computer (or have the Geek Squad do it for you).

10.6.8 update has broken quicktime 7 codecs

It seems that the 10.6.8 update has broken the codecs that quicktime 7 uses.
We have users here that need to use quicktime 7 pro to export movs etc, and since the update, they cannot play (so far that we have found) movs that are using the photo-jpeg decompressor.
We're using the version from the optional installs package form the dvd.
We've been able to work around this by copying (from a 10.6.7 install) the following folders, over the top of the 10.6.8 image.
/System/Library/QuickTime
/System/Library/QuickTimaJava
/System/Library/Frameworks/QuickTime.framework
/Library/QuickTime
While ive tried to single out which files are affected, it seems copying one of these folders at a time hasnt fixed the problem. Only when (at least) all the /System folders are copied over, then we can start playing the movs that have the broken codecs.
Is this something Apple is aware of? Is there an word of a fix for this? I also hear that optical audio is broken as part of the update - which the solution has been to recopy the kext file back from an older system.
10.6.7 was a show stopper for us - because of the NFS permission problems.. (but QT7 worked)
and now 10.6.8 is a show stopper for us, because QT7 is now broken, but the NFS problems are resolved.
I dont want to have to rebuild our workstations back to 10.6.6 as we had other issues that was fixed with 10.6.7..
Any ideas anyone? Apple dev's?

i think ive narrowed it down to a single file...
On my 10.6.8 laptop - with the stock QT files... the affected movs wouldnt play...
I copy this file from a 10.6.7 machine...
/System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeComponents.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTime Components
And i can play the files again...

How to install Air 3.9 SDK into FB 3.7

I cannot understand why Adobe doesn't make installers to update the SDK's more automatically. I have broken apps because of iOS 7, and must use the 3.9 AIR SDK to fix this problem, and resubmit my apps. What is so frustrating is to download the 3.9 Beta SDK, but have no clear instructions on how to install it into FB 3.7. Why isn't there an installer? How can a company with the massive brainpower of Adobe be incapable of writing an installer that figures out where to put the SDK?
In my FB preferences panel, under "installed AIR SDK" the field is read-only. And it refers to a folder AIR SDK location: /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722/AIRSDK .
And if I am just make AIR apps, do I need to be concerned with Flex? Is flex somehow related to making iOS and Android Apps in AIR? The relationship of Flex is so murky.
Do i do an overly into the 4.6 folder ?

I have downloaded the "AIR 3.9 SDK & Compiler Beta", unzipped it and copied these files into the com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722/AIRSDK folder - that means a bunch of files have been replaced. (I couldn't run the command line in the Terminal, it was giving me a "can't get real path for source" error).
Anyway, i'm NOT a Mac user, I updated to air 3.9 on Windows without problems - all I had to do was to replace air files in the sdks/4.6.0/ folder. Why must Mac be this complicated? ><
and another question: isn't that 'tutorial" incomplete? what about the actual flex SDK that has AIR merged into it? for sure that needs to be updated, as well, so why isn't there anything about it?
EDIT: I did succeed in the end. The problem was Mac replacing files the wrong way if you're not using the Terminal. I got it to work in the end (the Terminal), and I have used the rsync command to replace the files. For anyone still having problems with this, here's what I did:
1. update the AIR SDK
- duplicate your "AIRSDK" folder located at /Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722/ and rename it to something like "AIRSDK_backup"
- download and unzip the AIR 3.9 SDK & Compiler Beta [link]
- in the Terminal, navigate to the unzipped folder of the downloaded file, and run this command:
rsync ./* -avl /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.7/ecplise/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK/
2. Update the Flex SDK
- duplicate your "4.6.0" folder located at /Flash Builder 4.7/sdks/ and rename it to something like "4.6.0 (3.9)"
- download and unzip the AIR 3.9 SDK for Flex Developers [link]
- in the Terminal, navigate to the unzipped folder of the downloaded file, and run this command:
rsync ./* -avl /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.7/sdks/4.6.0\ (3.9)/
That's it! Hope this helps anyone who is still stuck.
For Windows: skip step 1 entirely and just copy/paste (replace existing files) the "AIR 3.9 SDK for Flex Developers" in /Flash Builder 4.7/sdks/4.6.0/
