Installing an old Mac app store version of PE 12 on a new mac
I downloaded a the mac app store version of PE12 a while back. I recently got a new mac, and tried to migrate the app over, but it won't open on the new computer and just tells me I should re-install. The problem is that I can't re-download it from the mac app store because they only carry a newer version now. I can't re-download it from the Adobe app store because they want a serial number, which I didn't get because it just instantly downloaded from the Mac app store. I tried the Adobe Application Manager, but it doesn't even see that I have the app at all. How in the world do I get the app I bought on to work on my new computer?
You should be able to copy the app store version from one computer to another, unlike the regular version. Have you deleted preferences?

Apple only provides support for problems with updates released via the app store and adobe has NEVER bothered to issue updates anything offered through the app store, so you can't get any help from apple for this.
It's more complicated to install ACR in the app store version. You have to do it manually. See this thread:

Error when installing Lion on empy HD: "Couldn't find app store version, falling back to hardcoded"
I've run in to a problem that is making me tear the hair from my head. I'm hoping for your help!
Short story:
I'm trying to install OS X Lion on my 27" iMac.
I've erased the HD using Disc Tool in recovery.
HD shows no errors.
I've tried Internet Recovery (it loads up, but wont start the installation)
I've tried creating a recovery usb on another similar iMac, and use it on this. Same error, only differance is it keeps "loading" when installing, but nothing happens. Same error in log.
When I try to start the Reinstall I get an error in the installation log that goes something like this:
Install Mac OS X Lion[354:9c03] Couldn't find app store version, falling back to hardcoded
Can not connect to /var/run/systemkeychaincheck.socket: No such file or directory
Apple Care suggested:
Trying another network (doesn't work).
Install with the original Snow Leopard DVD first, then upgrade (can't do that, the DVD is lost and a DVD from another friend is not working)
What can I do to get around this error?
Someone suggested buying a usb with Snow Leopard from the apple store. Do I really have to buy a NEW operating system because the recovery doesn't work? Would I have to pay to upgrade to Lion again?Follow AppleCare's instructions on re-installing Snow Leopard and re-installing Lion. Your friends disc won't work because the discs are machine specific. You will have to get a replacement set of your original Install Discs from AppleCare for a nominal cost.

I'm trying to re-install an earlier version of a third party app I bought from App Store, version is not available anymore. The problem, 3rd party does not recognize my purchase ID, since I got it from App Store. My Mac Air Book is limited to update up to OS 10.6.8, unaware of updating the new version of Mac Cleanse I bought from App Store, this new version does not support my OS 10.6. How can the App Store provide me with an earlier version of Mc Cleanse?

I am facing the problem on downloading apps from Mac App Store, when I try to install the application from App store, I am getting an error message "Status_Code_Error" while click on "Login"
Same problem here in Brazil.
It seems to be a problem with logging in App Store in the Mac (Yosemite 10.10.2).
When I tried the very same userid and password I was able to login in to use my iCloud account from the same computer and also from my iPhone. -
hello everyone! i have a new macbook pro and i want to download aperture. my app store says it is already installed (on my old macbook pro). how do i install aperture from the app store in this instance please?
Are yoy sure that Apeture is not in the Applications folder of the new system? If it is move it to the trash and the App Store will let you download Aperture from it.
You will need to make sure you use the same Apple ID you used to purchase it in the past.

Some days ago I updated my Photoshop Elements for Mac to Version 11 (Mac App Store version).
Accidentally I noticed mysterious activity though Photoshop Elements wasn't running.
For example these files have been created or modified /private/var/log/...:
What pupose have these .asl files and ativities?

I've been given a Macbook Air as a gift (with OS 10.7.5). Garageband is missing and I can't dl the app store version because apparently my OS is too old. Help??
Try to by an iLife '11 installation DVD - perhaps you can find it at Amazon or eBay.
Or try to update the MacOS X version of your MacBook Air to MacOS X 10.9 Mavericks. If your MBA qualifies for the Mavericks update, you should be able to buy GarageBand 10.0 from he AppStore. -
Replace Lion Developer Preview with App Store version
Few months back Apple invited me to test Lion. I installed the Lion developer preview on a separate parition on my internal Mac hard drive.
Now that Lion is launched, I would like to remove the developer preview partition completely then install Lion from the App store in 10.6
I know I can remove the Lion partition easily from the disk utility but what about the recovery HD partition will that be also removed ?
Since I am not running the gold master version & also messed a lot with Lion, I want to replace Lion from App Store.I simply removed Lion DP partition using disk utility on the cd.
Then upgrade existing SL partition to Lion using App Store. -
App Store version won't open. "Warning. The Library in "Users/me/Pictures/A
App Store version won't open. When I click on the icon, I get the following pop-up. "Warning. The Library in "Users/me/Pictures/aperture library.aplibrary" cannot be upgraded" and then an option to quit. So the App does not even launch. I deleted and re-downloaded it and the same happens. It is a new 15" Mac pro, all software up to date. I use iPhoto for all my existing photos, located in the Pictures folder on the hard drive (all default settings). Help please appreciated.

That did it, but now when I have imported from iPhoto library, all my pictures are coming out with patches of Blue or Red (a bit like when you are selecting areas for instant alpha, or when looking for blown out areas of a photo (I am no pro as you can tell). This is the case on most photos (around 9000). Could you help here too?

Is there a way to remove installed updates from the App Store update window? I keep getting an alert that I have an update for Apple Remote Desktop. It says its installed, but the alert and the app keep showing up. Annoying!!

I'm trying to install Logic Pro on my new MacBook Air, and without a drive, it's going to take more work to install. I own the latest version, but I still need the discs to install from. Is there some way I can "upgrade" to the App Store version so installing now, and in the future, is easy to do without an external drive?

Just wait until the next major version of Logic becomes available (whenever that might be) and then when you pruchase that from the App Store, the issue of there being two different versions of Logic 9, will be over as everyone will have to purchase the new version via the App Store. -
WHen I first installed iOS 6 the App Store crashes...and now having iOS 6 for 2 weeks now, all my apps are buggy and now are crashing! Safari and built in apps are becoming slow and crash. I hate how apple leaves iPod touch 4g and iPhone 4 in the dark and basically force us to upgrade to newer devices. Apple could of done better with the update and needs to resolve these issues.
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
