Installing an old Win programme on new Mac notebook?

Hi. I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements, Version 6, Platform Win in February 2008. I now have a Macbook Air and wonder if I can somehow download and use the Photoshop Elements Version 6 which I purchased on my Mac notebook? I don't particularly wish or need to purchase a new programme - the old one was fine for my needs. I don't live in the US - I live in the UK so don't want to call a customer support number unless it is toll free. Thanks!

One thing to be aware of if you use the organizer: you will need to upgrade your windows catalog to PSE 9 or later, and then restore it to the mac if you want to move your catalog to the mac. If you buy the boxed version of PSE you get both platforms, but downloads are for a single platform, so since you don't have a disc drive you could download the trials for both and use that to upgrade the catalog on your windows machine.

I know that i should get an external usb optical drive, but buying such hardware for one use is a waste of money. Is there any other method?
I currently own a MacBook white, and really like the configuration. I it possible to copy the image of bootcamp to new mac mini? If so, what will happen to hardware and drivers?

I think that USB would be readable only on Mac os or winxp, but will the winxp installer read from USB?

Having read further websites, I am now a bit more dubious you can do this, at least with an XP installer.
However if you have a USB memory stick and an existing Windows computer (even a Boot Camp one) or can borrow one you could try using the free WinToFlash utility to make a supposedly bootable USB memory stick of the installer. See http://wintoflash.com/overview/en/
The problem is XP predates EFI firmare and XP only really knows BIOS firmware. As such (supposedly) XP would have problems booting from a USB device fully - it might lose connection part way through. Windows Vista and 7 do support EFI firmware.
The other approach I mentioned of temporarily moving the hard disk from the Mini to the MacBook so you can use the MacBook internal CD/DVD drive would work - be careful of the cables. Fortunately a new Mac mini and an old MacBook are two of the easier models to get at the hard disk. Regardless of which method you try, the first step would be on the Mac mini to run Boot Camp Assistant and to create the partition for Windows. Then via either method try booting from a Windows XP installer.
As I have taken Macs apart many times, I personally might go the swapping the hard disk over route.

What is your program? You specifically ask about Premiere Elements but your ID = photo shop elements 12.
It is confusing why Reynolds Films 2014 is replying to your thread, talking about Photoshop Elements.
Assuming some version of Premiere Elements currently on some Windows operating system.
What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system does it exist?
How did you install your version of Premiere Elements on Windows - installation files from an online purchase or
from installation disc from purchase of the product in box packaging?
What installation files or installation disc do you have?
You cannot install Premiere Elements Windows installation files on a Mac computer. If you want Premiere Elements
for your Mac computer, you will need to buy a version of Premiere Elements Mac that is supported by your Mac computer.
If you purchased Premiere Elements Windows in box packaging, it probably came with 2 installation discs, one for
Windows and one for Mac. If that is the case, use the Mac installation disc to try to install the program on your
Mac computer.
But, we need the details from you in order to sort out what is and what needs to be done.

install pse 12 on your new computer. if you no longer need it on your old one, deactivate (help>deactivate) it.

The new mini has a Firewire 800 port. Likely the PPC version only has Firewire 400. The OP will need a converter cable which is why I was asking first about what hardware is available and how much is being copied.
Probably go with using the external hard drive if you decide all you want are data files.

You can't run Windows programs on OS X, only in Windows in a virtual machine in OS X or via BootCamp.
Just download the Adobe program for OS X and ask about switching the license so it works on the OS X platform.
It might be you have to upgrade to a later version anyway and pehaps they will give you a upgrade price instead of having to buy the full verison, talk to them.

If you are syncing using iCloud, try going to System Preferences/iCloud (computers) and checking Safari. If it is checked, try deselecting it, wait 10-15 seconds, and then check it again.
