Installing applications and/or software

I'm new to Mac.
When I install some software or downloads I get a dialog box that says "select an application to copy to" or something like that. Nothing that I select works to accept the downoad or program. What do I do next?

When you download software, are you talking about 3rd party software, meaning non-Apple? If you could post the url here so we can see which software you are referring to that would help.

Hi there!
The carriers release the device OS for their users -- since they are responsible for support, it is their choice to release a version to their users. You can find their download site via this portal:

In all cases, you should take a manual backup before proceeding:

Then follow your carriers instructions for installation (found on their DL site above).
If you wish to bypass your carriers sanctioned device OS level, then you will need these instructions to install:

Note that, if you bypass your carriers approved level, you will likely be refused further support from them.

This began shortly after I installed my new CD burner with Nero 9 burning software, about the same time I also installlerade my new Nikon camera software ViewNX2, I ran Avira scan and Microsoft Egan virus scan and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, I ran Avira scan of your computer and Microsoft's own Virus Scanning and they say everything is good in it, he reported a few times, tried again now and the sound is heard all the way but the image is still, therefore gentle freezes, got no number on the bug report so I can not say that. Also ask your pardon for errors in language that may be present but hope you understand anyway!

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

How to download and install application via desktop software?

I'd like to know how to download and then, install applications on my Bold 9700 using desktop manager (version 6.1).
Can someone enlighten me about it please?

The easiest way to install apps is to use either App World on your phone (available from mobile.blackberry.com if not installed on your phone) or via the web front end of App World (http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/) , plugging your phone in via USB.

I have an i pod but can't install in onto my iMacOS9.0. I have follow the support ipod 101 page but it still not working. I got up to the third step and nothing happen. It said:

Cannot install applications and/or drag and move files

I am having issues in Mountain Lion where it is not allowing me to install applications by dragging them to applications or dragging files to move them.. Anytime I do this, it gives me a green circle below the icon with a white plus sign and does not allow me to drag/install the file.. Any ideas?

How to re-install OS and Thinkpad software after hardware upgrade?

I am getting ready to buy SSD for my X220.
My recovery partition is on my current hard drive, so instead of backing up and restoring the whole hard drive, (I am getting a smaller hard drive) I want to restore the system from recovery partition (clean install).
How can I do that? Does it work if I turn the internal hard drive into external by using enclosure? But I think it won't boot from that hard drive if I do that, so I am not sure how to recover my X220 OS.

1. COA sticker is for ms original image, not Lenovo preloaded. Lenovo image gets activation key from the BIOS SLIC.
2. Be sure you've created Factory_Recovery media, not Recovery one. The 1st type is bootable media and includes Lenovo preloaded image from Lenovo_Recovery partition - the system, drivers, applications. The 2nd media is very helpful too but intended for the recovery purpose - backup, restore, files and system recovery. It allows to reinstall entire system too but is a bit more complicated for this purpose.
3. Yes, install new SSD and perform factory recovery using new media. You'll don't need additional drivers for SSD. Just be sure boot mode is Legacy (not UEFI only) in the BIOS Setup menu.
After the system will be installed you can remove Lenovo_Recovery partition on the SSD as you have media and resize system partition. Also, in this case, reinstallation Lenovo Rescue and Recovery application is recommended in order to get access to the recovery environment using blue button or F11 key on the laptop boot stage.

Need To Clean Erase My Hard Drive And Re-Install OS and Factory Software

I have a question. I am needing to erase then reinstall the OS and software that came with this Sep 2008 Macbook Pro. I am selling it and want to wipe out all my personal and work related data files I have created, and do a thorough erase. Then, with the disks that came with it I want to re-install the OS and the factory installed software. Does anyone have a link to the steps from Apple on how to accomplish this, and any do's and don'ts to help keep me out of trouble? Am replacing it with a new 15" MBP for work.

This is the way I prepare old machines that came with OS X installed, which allows them to act just like one from the factory. First, boot with the Apple Hardware Test disk that came with the machine, run the extended tests, and make sure everything passes. Then, boot with the restore disk(s) that came with the machine (holding down the C key until you get a screen), erase and zero the HD. When that's finished, reformat it Mac OS Extended, install the OS 9 drivers (if the machine can boot into OS 9), and then restore the software.

When finished, click on the restart button, holding down the CMD+S keys. This puts the machine into single-user mode and gives you an Unix command line terminal screen. When the text stops scrolling, type in this command and click the return key:
*shutdown -h now*
This shuts down the computer; the next time it is turned on, the Setup Assistant will appear and the new user will get to personalize it. This also alleviates the necessity of presetting any display parameters, internet and e-mail settings, etc. As long as the monitor can hook up to the machine, the OS will select a usable resolution and the user can use the Display prefpane to suit their needs. They'll also have to run Software Update and bring everything up to the latest version.
Do note that you should also include all software disks and manuals that came with the machine. If there are 3rd-party apps, you need to include those disks and manuals, but only for those you want to transfer to the new owner—keeping those on your new machine and the old one, most likely violates the terms of usage.
James Sedgwick says: "I'm simple so that's why I try and keep it simple, just boot off your OS X CD, zero the drive, and shutdown. The new owner will use the bundled CD(s) to set it up the way they want it, easy peasey."

I need to install application and driver for Nomad IIc but computer says I'm not connect

I tried downloading the application, driver, and plug-in for Nomad IIc. When I try to install the driver my computer says my player is <EM>not</EM> connected but my player says it <EM>is</EM> connected. Help!

Did you download the correct driver and appllication?
Check that you have the following files.
. Driver - Drv_nm2.exe
2. MediaSource application - CMS_PCAPP_LB_2_03_29.exe
3. Nomad Pack - CMS_N2Plugins__00_0.exe
Do not connect the player when installing the driver. You will be prompted to connect the player when the installation is near to completion.
After which, install the MediaSource application follow by the Nomad Pack.

Some of the pre installed application and the defu...

I downloaded a theme from ovi store.and when i apply the downloaded theme to my nokia c2-00 something went wrong.the theme put a question mark "?" on some of the buttens of the phone's menu and hence i deleted this theme from my phone but some of the defualt applications corrupted and the defualt theme was lost or disappeared.can anyone tell me how to get them back?

Check if you have the latest Firmware on your Phone. You may do that thru' Nokia Suite . If any update is available do that, else you may re-install (refer the attachment) the existing firmware and see if the problem gets resolved.
If no change the you need to get the Firmware flashed at Nokia Care
