Installing Arabic in R12.

Dear All,
I am doing fresh 12.0.4 installation on Solaris10.
I have to Install Language Arabic with 12.0.4. And i have gone through note 550206.1 and Oracle application maintenance procedure(adding and maintaining NLS), But i didn't understood the concept well.
Can you please explain in step by step manner what are the things i required to do for installing Arabic.
Like in 11i
Installing Oracle application 11i from the stage of oracle applications with NLS
Then followed the note 316804.1 step 4.1
a. update multilingual table in adadmin
b. apply apply u11510nls.drv with adpatch nocopyportion option.
c. complete the post installation task.
Thanks and Regards
Vasu

Dear ... Mr. Hussein ...
As you know , installing latest patches is not always recommended until we see people feedback on it based on their own experience with it.
Please if you can clarify the following to me:
Refer to Note: 743368.1 - Oracle E-Business Suite Release Update Pack Readme, Release 12.0.6{color:#333333}1- I wanted to know if there is a base release from Oracle as 12.0.6 , that you can download or order media kit.
Now this note direct you to apply -> R12.AD.A.DELTA.6 (patch [7305220|http://updates.oracle.com/download/7305220.html]) -> RUP6 (patch [6728000|http://updates.oracle.com/download/6728000.html]) -> online help patch ([7109200|http://updates.oracle.com/download/7109200.html]) -> Post Update Patches.
Will this make me 12.0.6 at the end ?
2- When you install R12 for new customers, and they don't ask you for specific release.
Do you recommend using 12.0.4 or go for 12.0.6
(of course based on your personal experience , and feed back you got from others - up to date)
Login to Metalink, click on "Patches & Updates" tab, click on "Recommended Patches Oracle eBusiness Suite R12". {color}
A. for both 12.0.4 & 12.0.6 - there is Only [7301300|https://updates.oracle.com/ARULink/PatchDetails/process_form?patch_num=7301300&release=1500&plat_lang=46P&patch_num_id=1029645&email=team%40asalqurashi.com&userid=528559.992&|View Patch Details] -- CPU CONTAINER PATCH FOR APPS PATCHES FOR JANUARY 2009.
B. Do 12.0.4 & 12.0.6 come with the latest family packs for Financial + HRMS + Supply Chain + Manufacturing ?
or there is still Family Packs that you need to apply ?
please if there is a note for the latest family packs needed for R12.0.4 and R12.0.6.
Again your personal recommendations for what family packs are needed , and what are not ( Up to date )
are really appreciated.
Hope you have a nice and graet day
Best Regards,
Naji Ghanim

  • Possible to install Oracle EBS R12 on existing (shell) Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB?

Is it possible to install Oracle EBS R12 on existing (shell) Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB?

    user4434301 wrote:
OK...I could be crazy, but I didn't see doing an installation of EBS R12 on a pre-existing 11.1.0.7 DB in there anywhere. It looked like the regular install directions. Are you sure?If you mean to say if you can install R12 with an existing EBS/standalone database then the answer is No.
If you mean to say if you can lay down R12 software (to upgrade from 11i) with an existing EBS database then the answer is Yes.
I hope it is clean now.

  • I have the right serial number to install arabic onto Ai, but the installer will not accept the serial number

I have the right serial number to install arabic onto Ai, but the installer will not accept the serial number

I'm also getting the "invalid serial number", but I'm wanting to upgrade my 5.1 to 5.1.4 to take advantage of HDV 720p/24 support. Is the 5.1.4 update even an option still? I really don't want to be forced to upgrade to FCS2 and shell out $500, just to get this one feature that was included in a patch.
I went to the Registration page and it actually allowed me to register the serial number... (which I'm pretty sure I already had), but it still won't let me in to download any updates. Also, the email confirmation that was supposed to be sent has not arrived 20+ minutes later.
Very strange. I called Apple support and they estimated a wait time of 15 mins... ugh.
    Anyone have other suggestions?

    Muneer,
    1. When I go to OAM > License Manager > Reports : The only licenses language is US English. Does not show Arabic at all. I had to manually do it using License Manager. You have to add Arabic from OAM.
    2. There are no AR directories installed in APPL_TOP for any of the product components e.g. forms folder. This is an expected behavior as the AR directories will be created when you run the NLS patch (in R12, RapidWiz does not create AR directories, unlike 11i).
I wonder what does Rapid Install actually do when we select additional language during the installation.Nothing much, as most of the steps need to be implemented once you are done with the installation.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

    F. AmorsoloWindows 7 is not certified as you mentioned above, and I have never heard of any successful installation of 11i/R12 on Windows 7 Professional/Home (32-bit or 64-bit).
You could create a VM, and use a certified OS (Windows or Linux) then install R12.

    Thanks

There is no need to install anything.  You go to system prefs/language & text/input sources and check the boxes for the Arabic keyboads you want, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer.  Then you select Arabic in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type.  Select Keyboard Viewer from the same place to see which key does what.
Note that MS Word for Mac does not support Arabic and Pages has too many bugs.  Mellel is the best, while TextEdit, Nisus, and OpenOffice should also work OK.

  • Installing on EBS R12 on Windows 7 Home Basic 64 Bit??

    Hi Experts,
I ordered a Sony Vaio laptop with i5 processor, 500GB Hard Disk, 4 GB Ram just for installing EBS R12. It came with Windows 7 Home Basic 64 Bit..............Is there any article with step by step procedure?? What are your comments on Installing on Win 7 64bit??
    Thanks in advance,
    Raam

You cannot install EBS on Windows 7.
One option is to install VM software (like VMWare or VirtuaBox), then install OEL 5.7 in the VM, then install EBS on OEL 5.7
Your hardware specs (disk, RAM) are not enough - if you follow the above, the install will be extremely slow and unusable. You will likely need 1TB of disk and at least 6GB (or 8GB) of RAM for the VM in order to have a usable install.
