Installing at base path / Installer: The install failed

When attempting to install Adobe Reader XI (11.0.0.7), the installer fails with the above error message and the addendum of:
"the Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)"
Installation was on an Apple MacBook Pro 15 in (2008) running OS X 10.9.4.
I cannot physically install Adobe Reader at present - Adobe, what do I do?

Try the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • What are the steps to make it seamless for a customer to use the install program and then use the installed program?

I wrote an install program (.exe) that is downloaded from a website.  When run, it 1) leads a customer to browse to a directory, and 2) copies files (.exe, .dll, etc.) from a website to that directory.  When I run, the installed program works.
What are the steps to make it seamless for a customer to use the install program and then use the installed program?

This site https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/2kt85ked%28v=vs.110%29.aspx provides a basic description of the Visual Studio Windows Installer.
Near the bottom of the page is "You can unlock all the features of InstallShield by paying to upgrade to the full version of InstallShield."  Where do I find info that describes the differences between the "free" and the "full"
    versions?
    bhs67
    Hello,
The default feature does support the task for your requirement, so there is no need to pay for the other features unless you want to use some feature which is not free.

  • Any way to install Windows 7 by copying the install disk to a HD first?

Any way to install Windows 7 by copying the install disk to a HD first?
I have HDs installed in my optical bays.
I can copy the Win 7 install disk to a new freshly formatted HD if needed.
I am unable to install from my Firewire DVD.
    It will not work.
I have a NTFS partition ready to go on an internal drive.
If there is a way to do this I would appreciate any help.
I really do not want to put my DVD back in if it can be avoided.
    Thanks ... Ken

I've done an install off a hard drive, but I was already running Windows on a separate drive partition.
People have put DVD on flash memory, though that is 'maybe' and depends on booting from USB devices.
I routinely put OS X Install DVD on a firewire hard drive and installs quickly (to say nothing of booting in under 60 sec).

  • I can not install adobe creative standards because the install icon has the symbol of the ban. What can I do?

I can not install adobe creative standards because the install icon has the symbol of the ban. What can I do?

Its a possibility that the product is not supported on your machine hence the BAN sign on the product icon. You can share the product name and your system configuration so that we can confirm the same.

    I installed 2.3 upgrade,
installer folder is in  harddrive but application will not open or replace 2.0 as it says it "should". When I attempt to it just reinstalls the installer, never the functioning application.  I have tried too many times now. Always same response. WOuld love to upgrade ( and purge all the alias 2.3 off hardrive!

when I went to the library folder there was no receipts only
    com.adobe.Reader whihc included install.log
so I guess that means something is missing?
If above still doesn't resolve problem - go to the folder named
"Receipts" in the Mac OS X Library folder (i.e. the main Library
not you Users Library) and delete the file named Adobe Photoshop
    Lightroom 2.pkg

  • Is it possible to install a single component from the install dvd?

My install went very well, however the only problem is that the colorsync utility will  not launch. I would rather not do a complete reinstall of the entire system... ( particularly because of my shrinking HD). Can I do this?
    Thanks in advance, Carl

Carl, you could try a couple things that may solve your problem.
    1) Run "Repair Disk Permissions" using Disk Utility which is found in your UTILITIES folder inside your Application folder.
    2) Startup your computer holding down the SHIFT key. Wait for the computer to startup completely, then restart again.
    3) Find your ColorSync preferences and trash them. Perhaps a corrupt preference file is not allowing you to launch the app.
    Good luck!

with my iPad I downloaded the ios8, it down loaded successfully. when I click the option to install it, it keeps popping up with the error saying " ios8 install failed cause you aren't connected to the internet" but I am still connected to the internet I can see it clearly that I am ... Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed, and the addons website doesn't know you are running Firefox 3.6.3.
type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
    Filter = '''general.useragent.'''
Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset''''',
    Then restart Firefox

  • Installer wont install any programmes?, installer wont install any programmes?, installer wont install any programmes?

hi, i have a macbook air and have been unable to install iwork or xcode. the installation will prepare but then says instalaition failed please help i have 10.6.7  but it seems to work fine on my imac 10.7.2 thank you.

What version of Xcode and iWork are you trying to install?
Recent versions of Xcode require 10.7.  And 10.6.8 brings the App Store, which is how various of these tools are now distributed by Apple.
Is there a particular reason you're (still) on 10.6.7 on that system?
Do you have enough free space?
Are there any relevent errors in the software installation logs?  (Applications > Utilities > Console.app)
If these Xcode and iWork are supported versions on 10.6.7, then I'd get a backup or two of your disk, would then boot from the installation disk and repair your boot disk and check your protections, and would also consider downloading and installing the 10.6.8 combo (combo, not delta) update.

  • I am trying to install vmware fusion and during the install it continues to ask for the admin password to install.

I am trying to install vmware fusion 5-1.0.2 on osx 10.8.2 and it just keeps asking for the admin passoword for the computer.  I keep putting it in with no luck.  I have installed other programs with no issues.

If yours is the only user account on the Mac, it will have Admin privileges by default, so just type your password. Provided the installer is legit (i.e., downloaded from VMWare's servers and not some shady place), it needs Admin privileges since it needs to add stuff in the innermost folders of the OS for virtualization to work.
If your user account does NOT have admin privileges, you will need to have someone who does install Fusion for you. No way around this.

  • How do I install a single app from the Install Discs?

I've got my set of Install Discs and would like to either make a back up of a single application from it or at least see the contents as individual items within the disc. I know there's an utility out there that allows this, but I didn't capture where I read about it.
Trying to ensure I don't lose my iMovie 6 HD!
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    Here's what I got:
-I was able to extract the application (very easy to navigate right to it)
-It created a folder called "iMovieHD.mpkg Folder"
-In the folder is the "iMovie Folder" and "iMovieThemes_Tiger Folder"
-And so on ... until you get to the actual application (.app) and Library, et al
I think my last question is, now that I have the component back up of my iMovie, how would I use this in the future. That is to say, how would I install this on my next computer?
    Thanks again!

Using W-XP SP3, Tbird 31.2.0, latest Lightning download. Install apparently OK, got msg "Lightning will be installed after you restart Tbird". Tried installing Lightning using the cog and pointing to the xpi file, same outcome.

Try starting windows in safe mode. I am guessing your anti virus or other security software simply does not like the updated version number and is blocking the launch. Windows safe mode leaves almost all that stuff unloaded and will confirm or prove me just plain wrong.

  • Failed Installation when installing a Patch

Version: Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP8
    OS: Windows 2003 SP2
I am trying to install a patch (it seems that this problem is happening no matter what patch I install) and towards the middle of the installation I get the following error:
    "1628: Failed to complete installation"
The install goes through these steps before I get the Error.
    -Configuring Windows installer
    -Extracting patch-id.msp
-Extracting ISScript1150.msi (hangs half way here for about 10sec)
    -then Error
If I try to run the patch-id.msp file the install creates on the temp directory I get the following message:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on yuor computer and that you have the correct upgrade path."
    Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

    Hey,
