  • How can I load word processing software onto my Apple Mac?

    Hi
Is it possible to install word processing software on a new Apple Mac? I've found something called 'Pages' but I can't work out how to buy it or install it.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There are different word processing apps you can use in your Mac:
Microsoft Word for Mac. Included in Office for Mac, it provides full compatibility with Microsoft Office for Windows and it's probably the app with more features > http://www.microsoft.com/mac
Apple Pages. You can buy it on the Mac App Store, but you can download it for free if you have got a new Mac (open the App Store and go to Purchases). It has got a new interface, but some users have complained about its lack of features. As it's free, you can give it a try.
LibreOffice. Free and open-source, one of the most recommended applications > http://www.libreoffice.org

  • Acrobat XI Standard on my PC as well as my new Apple Mac?

I just subscribed to Acrobat XI Standard. I use a PC as well as my new Apple Mac. Can I download it to both machines?

    Hi duncansc,
You sure can. The license agreement states "…the end user can install the software on either Mac and PC and their two installs may be on different platforms and used at the same time."

Run the cleaner tool and reinstall with sufficient user privileges and security stuff turned off. Your install went wrong because you didn't consider this.

How can I sign out of iTunes and sign back in with a new Apple ID on iPad mini wifi.?

Tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out, and then log in with the second account. If you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload an account's past purchases then you may tie the device to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • How to get songs onto new PC

Alright, my old PC completely crashed, with my iTunes and everything on it. I've got my iPod mini now (with my Mac) but the problem is I have no clue how to get all my songs from my iPod onto my computer. I don't want to have to load all of the songs from my CDs and rebuy them from Apple again... and I don't know if I'll be able to access my old PC again. Is there anyway to get my iPod mini songs onto the Mac?

  • New Computer, want to upload songs onto new computer

I just bought a new I-MAC and want to get all of my music onto the new computer, but when I hookup my i-pod, it says I can only sync with one computer and I have already done this on another computer(it is a PC that has recently died). I have heard about "rippers" but there has to be an easier way to do this. I am sure I'm not the first one to encounter this, and I have looked for a way to fix this but haven't been able to find one...I am still learning the Mac operating system.
    Thanks for the help

Apple doesn't support the transferring of music from your iPod to your iTunes. Only iTunes to iPod. So to do this you will need to download a third party program that will help copy your music from your iPod back to your computer, or there are a couple manual methods you can check out.
    THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS
    Senuti - Mac Only

iPod Access - Windows & Mac

iPodCopy - Windows & Mac ( moves videos too)

    PodUtil - Windows & Mac

Personally I was in the exact position you are, I used Senuti to take the music off my Pc formated iPod and put it on my new Mac. It was easy, worked perfect, took me about an hour to get it off and reload it all back to my iPod. Saved me a lot of time and headaches, Good Luck

Did you install the Migration Assistant for Windows?
Windows Migration Assistant for Mountain Lion 1.0. Also, you must be running Mountain Lion on your MBP. You initiate the process from the Mac.

  • How easy is to transfer data from an old apple mac to a new apple mac

I have an old Intel Apple Mac And I am looking to change it for a new one asap I live 110 miles from Exeter Apple I would rather deal with them direct Rather than local Apple resellers here in Cornwall,They offer a costly alternative, and not a very good alternative,.If I am to spend £1000.00 plus I want to feel ok with it all I have been quoted 2days if I want the data  ie Photographic images etc transfering at Apple, Do not want to travel twice to Exeter Due to milage and time factors Hence my query Would appreciate advice from anyone Who has perhaps done it Thanks

Hi Matt, I did not realise Due to my ignorance that   I was asking for help world wide,  And when I mentioned  Penzance,in Cornwall,Manchester & Exeter, I presumed you would, realise where these places were. But at the same time Your help was very appreciated all the same,And very clearly stated. I was at first, apprehensive about asking on line after my previous visits to so called experts, at various Apple outlets/  Who seemed to an ordinary person like me, ,to only be interested in them doing it,and charging me a serious amount of money, and it been to hard and difficut for me to do.It was only after reading on an Apple site, That I realised that it could be done by me, Hence my query, So thanks again. I notice from your points awarded to you, that you have helped with your knowledge, a lot more people other than I,  Where would we be, without people, like you,who talk sense, and help people like me,Thanks Martin Smith (penzance,Cornwall uk 0

  • I installed Office 2011 on my new I-mac.  Excell will not open???

I installed Office 2011 on my new Mac,  Why will Excel not open?

First restart the Mac, then try to start Excel again, if it fails go to Mactopia Downloads for Office 2011, download all updates for Office 2011, (there are 3) apply the in order (14.02 is first, 14.13 last) follow the instructions, you may have to restart your computer more than once.
Oh, and if it does start when you try it is still important to do the updates.
