Installing bootdrive in Pavilion AiO

Hi,
I have Pavilion Model 22-h020ex that came with a 1TB HD (Model WDC WD10EZEX-60M2NA0) and its kind of slow when editing very large excel sheets or opening 10 applications at once.
I plan to install a fast boot drive (SSD / mSATA / M.2). My question is, does my desktop support any of the 3 formats? I want to keep my current WD HD but just install 64GB boot drive.
Best regards,
Abdul

That's very unfortunate. I was hoping I can keep my current HD and add an SSD.
Thanks anyhow

Hi, you can try the below steps to resolve the issue :
Step 1 : Re-install audio drivers from HP Recovery Manager.
    1. Click Start, in the Start search box, type recovery . Then click Recovery Manager .
    2. In the Recovery Manager window that displays, click Next. On the Reinstall software programs that came with your computer screen, click No, I would like to see other options . Then click Next .
    3. In the Reinstall hardware drivers screen, click Yes . Then click Next. On the Welcome to Hardware Driver Reinstaller screen, click Next .
    4. In the driver list, select the name of the sound adapter installed on the system. Then click Next. When complete, the Reinstallation is complete screen displays. Click Finish to restart the computer. After the computer starts, test for sound. If the issue persists perform step 2.
    Step 2 : Re-install audio drivers manually
If there is no sound and the error still displays, update the audio driver from the weblink below :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-63129-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
Step 3 : Restart the Windows Audio Service.

    3. Right-click Windows Audio , click Properties , and then verify that Startup Type is set to Automatic .

  • Blue Screen of Death After Trying To Install Windows On Pavilion ze4900?

After my hard drive died in my Pavilion ze4900, I replaced it with another notebook hard drive I had laying around.I also tried installing Windows XP home from a Windows installation CD, the same OS the laptop had before the hard drive died. All went well until the laptop was done loading all the installation files, instead of giving me the option to either install Windows or repair Windows, the laptop ends up showing me a blue screen with the message: " A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer." What can I do to resolve this issue? I have installed Windows XP on another computer using the same CD, so the CD hasn't gone corrupt and the replacement hard drive is barely used. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  The first thing you will want to check is if there are any issues with the hard drive you put in.  Run the BIOS diagnostics for the hard drive and the hard ware to make sure there are no issues. HP Notebook PCs - System Diagnostics (F2) And. HP Notebook PCs - Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS Please let me know how things go. Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

Im just posting this to save the agony i went through trying to find correct windows 7 64 Bit drivers. hopefully this will save many people time since alot of people downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7. I installed the following drivers in the FOLLOWING ORDER: i only reason i would install in the following ordre is because i had problems installing the USB 3.0 drivers, but if you install in this order the USB 3.0 drivers should install fine.
NOTE: i tried this with the 64 bit version of win7 and it worked fine, i didnt have time to try with 32 bit win7.

  • Win 7 blocked after quick web install on HP Pavilion dv6

installed quick web on my pavilion dv6 win 7 operating sys. when I try to boot to windows i get a 'press escape" message, then a black screen. quick web works , listing my operating sys. as linux. In settings when I click on the windows folder, I get a message that windows is encrypted, not cleanly shut down or hibernated. My computer's diagnostics says everything is working, but I have virtually no hard drive space available to me. How do I recover? or did I suffer a viral attack?

    Hi
The best i will like to suggest to you is try doing a system restore to the date where unit was working fine & have it checked.

  • Volume lowered after installing windows 8 pavilion g7

    Hi,

After installing windows 8 the volume level lowered, i tried going to the speakers and then Enhacment and check the loudness equilizer and the volume got up alittle but still lower than normal, How to get it to its normal level....?
    TheOrion055

I'm not sure what notebook you have, but you can try this:
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.
Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.
Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.
Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows.
Please let me know if this helps.  If not, please reply with your product number & operating system.

  • Windows 8 possible to install on HP Pavilion h8-1030nl

Hi, I would like to know whether it is possible to install windows 8(.1) on my desktop computer HP Pavilion h8-1030nl ?
    thanks for answers

There is a program that will test your entire system. Be sure to have every device connected, and powered. It will analyze everything connected, and all your installed sofware.  Neat huh?? So here goes, and enjoy.   The program.
Now the question to you.  WHY?   Windows 8/8.1 is under so much turmoil.  WIN9 has been scrapped.   I suggest you google "WIN 10"  and read all about it.   It's a better scenerio. More on it later, for sure.   See here.

    Dear Customer,
Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you.
It looks like you are not able to Boot into the Operating System on your Notebook.
We will surely assist you with this.
Originally the Notebook will have the Recovery Partition and that would give you an option to create a set of Recovery Disk. If you have not created those Recovery Disks when the Notebook was in working condition we cannot do that right now
As of now if you need to recover your Notebook with the new Operating System you can check if the Recovery Partition
is in a working condition or not, If yes you can easily recover/restore your Notebook
    If Recovery Partition is corrupted
You need to call HP Technical Support and request for a set of Recovery Disks , So you can recover/restore your Notebook at the earliest
    OR
You need call up Microsoft and purchase an Operating System with the License Key, So you can recover/restore your Notebook at the earliest
I strongly recommend you to Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance without any delay
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

  • Installing OEL on pavilion dv7 4054CA failing with kernel panic

I am trying to install OEL 4.8 (5.5 gives errors too but not as details as 4.8 )on pavilion dv7 4054CA I7 4-core/8 thread laptop but the installation terminates shortly with kernel panic. I gathered the below errors from the screen:
    kernel panic - not syncing
    drivers/acpi/ec.c:162
    spin_is_locked on unintiialized spinlock
    acpi-0352
    acpi-1134
    acpi-0691 : *** Error: acpi_ev_ype_dispatch
It looks like a CPU issue. My laptop is brand new and works fine and I want to install Linux on it.
So any one can help on this?
    Thanks.

Oracle Linux, like all Linux for Enterprise systems, was developed for server hardware and will most likely have trouble to fully support laptops or desktop PC systems. Even if you get the system installed, you may run into trouble with proper support for laptop power management, touchpad, video and wireless support.
A good alternative to run Oracle Linux, or Enterprise Linux on a Laptop is Oracle Virtualbox. It allows you to install multiple common operating systems without the need to repartition your harddrive or jeopardize your primary operating system. Virtualbox is free. More info can be found here http://www.virtualbox.org. If you would like to use Linux as your primary OS or dual-boot, better consider a desktop Linux system like Fedora, Ubuntu or SUSE office desktop - you will be much happier with it. Please note that Oracle Express will easily install and support desktop Linux, but Oracle RDBMS does only support Enterprise Linux versions and will require special attention to get installed on Linux desktops.
In order to start OEL from your computer and work-around the issue you are experiencing, you might try to specify boot parameters, such as acpi=ht or acpi=off
    http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/10-boot-time-parameters-you-should-know-about-the-linux-kernel.html

  • Windows 8.1 install and HP Pavilion 23bw not working now as second monitor‏

Prior to the 8.1 upgrade everything was working fine.
I installed the latest driver from HP for this monitor which looks like it's from February of 2013 so probably not current for the Windows 8.1 update.
I should add that I'm running the HP monitor through a ThinkPad USD 3.0 Dock and using a Lenovo Yoga 11S

    Hi
This looks like a issue with the graphics card drivers on the notebook.. have you tried updating the drivers of the graphic card after windows 8.1 update? if not try to do that.
    Hope this helps.

  • Installing SSD in Pavilion P7-1220

    Hello
I am taking a Samsung 1TB SSD w' Win 8.1 and additional data on it from my current HP Envy Phoenix 160-810 and replacing it with a different drive.  My question is that I want to transfer the Samsung SSD 1TB Win 8.1 to my older Pavilion P7-1220 which is running Win 7.  I will take the current HHD out of the Pavilion and have no plans to use it..
I do not want to do a data migration or anything like that, I just want to swap drives.  Is there anything I need to know in order for the new SSD out of the Envy to work in the Pavilion?  BIOS update??  Configure the SSD as boot drive in BIOS???

    Hi,
Since it's Windows 8.1 (or 8), the main problem, no Windows key in BIOS of the other machine therefore it won't run. You have to talk with Microsoft about this first and you can fix drivers later.
    Regards.
