Installing BSD subsystem for OnyX 1.5.3

Hi,
I'm finding that Onyx 1.5.3 for Panther might be a very good choice for Mac optimization and customization. However, I'm not sure about this installer for
it. It says I need to install or have BSD subsystem installed.
Is that the developer tools or X11? I have X11, but the Developer tools folder
has the Developer.mpkg still in it. So, I guess it's not installed??
I don't know exactly what it is, and I didn't find an Optional installs folder
on the install Disk 1 that the installer instructs to open, to install
BSD subsystem....?
Any comments, pros and cons, of OnyX will be very welcome too... I don't want
to mess up anything on my disk.

BSD Subsystems not present on install discs and not installed

Today I was wanting to enable my Mac to work as a wireless access point for my internet connection. When I tried to I was unable to do so, with a note saying that the BSD subsystems weren't installed. I looked around a bit online and following the advice I found, tried to install it from my Snow Leopard install DVD. What I found, however, was that it simply wasn't there. At all. Anywhere. I decided to check both of my Leopard install DVD's as well. Nothing. I even went as far as to try my Tiger disks.
This is confusing to me as I have previously used my Mac as a wireless access point and at that point in time I clearly had the BSD subsystems, yet now (since then I've had to reinstall the operating system twice and had the harddrive replaced) I do not have it, nor is it on any of the disks that by all other accounts it should be on. I've looked in the install packages, run searches and found nothing at all.
So basically, how can I install BSD if it's not where it's meant to be?

Thank you so so much. I unchecked Safari in my icloud and it seems we now have separate bookmarks again. (She deleted dozens of my bookmarks earlier thinking she was only deleting from her own Mac. I've managed to restore many of them but not organised as they were with my own notes on them! It'll take many weeks to sort out.) I also tried unchecking Calendars in icloud as our calendars have merged, but it tells me my calendar will be deleted from my Mac.
Still wondering if I should just install her own Mountain Lion on her Macbook with her own Apple ID (what I should have done in the first place probably) or will this cause issues with installing one mountain lion over another do you think?

Utilities and SDK for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications in Windows 8 doesn't install

Trying to install the package and well into the process I get an error message saying that my processor isn't supported and to contact my vendor.. I have a Lenovo U 410 LT with Win 8 Pro. It has an Intel Core i7 processor. I also tried the AMD version thinking they may have been swapped but it also does not install. How to get it installed? I really need the NFS in it.

I’m sorry to hear that there is an error message displayed in your U410 Laptop while installing “Utilities and SDK for Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications in Windows 8”, make sure you are installing this application as an Administrator User, if the issue is same even in this user account, I suggest you to download the package again and right click in the downloaded file select “Run as administrator” to get it installed in administrator mode, below is the link to download the SDK package:

Error coming while installing Berkeley database for IOS Device.

Hi I want to install berkeley db in my MAC. My Xcode version is 4.5.2. I downloaded db-5.3.21(Berkeley) from oracle site.I installed command line tool for xcode. I installed berkeley db in my MAC for iPhoneSimulator. Where as for iPhone device I am unable to install. When I am installing berkeley db for IOS device it is showing following error.

............................... The error is telling that C compiler cannot create executables... But for iPhonesimulator it is not showing the error...

Same steps i performed for iPHONESIMULATOR. But at that time c complier works fine. But while i am try to install for IOS device it is showing above error.
Can we need any license software for this installation. Could any one please provide exact document regarding installation for IOS device.

Thanks for the reply komal i did that but not cleared..one thing when i create the build from my flash builder the error happens.but the same project i used in another flashbuilder and create build..That build works fine...is there any chance for flash builder compiler problem.

BSD name for volume is not correct

I have recently had a HD crash, and purchased a new drive which I installed Tiger on over USB. I have now put the new drive into my Macbook, but booting briefly shows the ? Folder and takes longer and I notice that the BSD name for the drive is disk0s2. (everything seems to run fine otherwise). I assume (and seem to recall from my old installation) that it would normally be disk0s1? putting two and two together i figure this is what is causing the slight boot issue. Can anyone advise me as to whether this should be changed and how? I have set the startup disk numerous times and seem to have no luck there.

You can insert report execution data and time in the report and it is not possible to use as report name.

HT1349 Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

Yesterday - Tues. Oct. 30th I called in again and was on the phone for 4.5 hrs with a microsoft tech and he also took remote access of my computer but was not able to fix the problem. I asked to speak to someone at a higher tech level and was told to call
back into the microsoft helpline.
The 3rd call - Although I had been told during the prior 2 calls that I was still covered under my warrenty I was now told that I needed to pay for the support call. It took a while to get that straighteded out and to give all my information again to
the call center but I finally worked with a 3rd tech for over 2 hrs. but had to terminate the call for a conference call I had with a client. The person I worked with said he would call me back between 7-8pmEST so he could continue helping me but I never
got a return call.
I have already invested over 10 hrs in the last few days regarding this issue and fear that if I call back in I will once again start over completely with no success which is why I am reaching out here. Is there anyone that has the knowledge of how to fix
the problem?

I've been having the same problem and today did some searching and found something that worked. Check that the download hasn't already been installed - look in the Installed Updates listing for an entry. If it exists there, uninstall it, and
then force a Check For Updates and retry the install. This worked for me and I hope it helps.

I have been trying to install the driver for a Wacom Bamboo Pad. There are several driver packages listed on the website (the device is supplied ready to run with Windows devices) and I have tried tried downloading all the available drivers which apply to my set-up. Some will not open at all and I get a 'Damaged' message on my screen. Of the ones which open, I can download the .dmg and expand it but when clicked it opens as a window with multiple choice of languages and an icon which instructs you to click to open.
If I do this some versions repeat the 'damaged' message but the later ones generate a window saying:-
'“Install Wacom Tablet.pkg" can't be opened because the Identity of the developer cannot be conﬁrmed.' - this is as far as I can get it to go; most frustrating!
I understand that Apple's security updates have recently included an alteration that causes this result, and that there is supposed to be a legal (i.e. Apple sanctioned) workaround to allow files like this to be opened. If this is so, can anyone enlighten me?

Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.
