Installing c3kx-nm-10gt module in Catalyst 3560-X-24T-L

I am attempting to install a C3KX-NM-10GT network module into my Catalyst 3560-X-24T-L switch.  Any time I do this, the interface fails to operate, and the web-based status interface fails to operate correctly until the system reboots.  When I connect using the CLI, it sees the 10Gigabit interfaces, but they will not operate when I connect a device.  Utilizing the shutdown and no shutdown commands does not seem to affect the interface.
Current software version on the switch is 15.0(2)SE7 IP Base.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If it's not a license issue, then it's possible you have a hardware issue, with either the switch or the module.
BTW, you might be able to enable IPBase license, in a timed evaluation mode.  If so, you could use that to rule out the license question.

    Hi All,
I have a C3KX-NM-10GT installed in a WS-C3750X-48T-S with ios 150-2.SE7 and IP Base installed
The problem i'm having is i can't get the ports online, the closest i get is a slow blinking green light
I have CAT6 plugged into the C3KX-NM-10GT and the other end is a cisco4948
any ideas would be greatly recieved as this is driving me crazy

  • Gbic on Catalyst 3560

hi, I'm sorry for my poor English.
I have a problem to make some gbic modules work on a catalyst 3560: installing the gbics the catalyst tells me the following error: "_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-ID_MISMATCH: Identification check failed for GBIC in port 65585.". The installed IOS is the following: 12.2(25)SEB2 and the model of gbic it is: GLC-SX-MM =.
Thanks in advance for your attention
    Regards

Where did you get these SFP GBICs from? It appears you have 3rd Party GBICs. To enable 3rd
Party GBICs, you need to configure it using hidden command "service
    unsupported-transceiver"
    Stack1#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    Stack1(config)#service unsupported-transceiver

  • Media Converter & Catalyst 3560 giving me headaches

Physical location 1  is connected to Physical location 2 with fiberoptic cable.
Location 1 fiber is terminated at Catalyst 3560.
Location 2 fiber is terminated at a media converter, so that the fiber link should be able to transparently be connected to a gigabit ethernet by rj45 cable.
The two fiber cables at each end is the same (62.5/125) - all is multimode fiber, and the gbic in the catalyst, and the media converter are both 850 nm.
On the Catalyst gbic where the fiber is, no link.
On the media converter there is link on the rj45, but no link on the fiber.
I cant seem to get what could be the problem.
The media converter is a tp-link mc200cm, which is gigabit, as well as the gbic module in the catalyst.
At first I bought the wrong tp-link (mc100cm - wavelength wrong) - however, on that, the fiber link lights (but very quick flashes only).
Any help, pointers oir the like would be greatlty appreciated!

It would seem the two devices should be compatible; both 850nm, short-reach interfaces and the instructions for the media converter shows a single-ended configuration. In the past, others have found that some media converters only operate in matched pairs; typically meaning they are not 802.3 compliant on their fiber links.
Have you confirmed that the fiber connectors are clean and the fibers are routed to the correct ports (Tx to Rx, and Rx to Tx)?  Are the ports set on both devices for Auto speed and duplex setting?  Have you tested the fiber links to ensure they are good? If you loop the fiber cable on the 3560's GBIC from Tx to Rx, can you get link?  At the media convertor end, disconnect the fibers and connect the fibers together; does the 3560 show link? If you loop a fiber at the media converter's optical ports, does the media conv show link?
    Let us know. Thx!

  • Modules Gbic Catalyst 6500

I have a peculiar problem with two gbic modules of Catalyst 6500.
First problem, I have a gbic port in module 7, which was a trunkport to Catalyst 2950, that does not allow conection to switch Catalyst 2950, and besides it harmed the yield of Catalyst 6500. I have to disconnect the optical fiber cable so that everything returned to normality.
Second problem. A port gbic in module 8, I let work and I disconnect of the network to one of the servants, by such reason I had to connect the fiber cable in another one gbic of he himself I module.
My question is: is necessary to change I modulate 7 and 8 not to have network problems on watch? or single to change gbic affected in each one of the modules?
    Thank you,

Failure to get GBIC up during installation could be as a result of system requirements not met, incorrect cable installed, lack of power to the device, configuration errors or hardware failure. Verify that the GBIC cable is connected to another active network device and that the port is not shut down. Replace cable with a known good cable. Make sure GBICs are matched on either side of the connection. Make sure the flow control and port negotiation settings are consistent on both sides of the link. There may be incompatibilities in the implementation of these features if the switches being connected are from different vendors. If in doubt, turn these features off on both switches. Swap GBIC to a different slot. Also, try using a spare GBIC to see if it works. For more information, refer to Troubleshooting link :

  • C3KX-NM-10GT 3750X

    Hi Team,
my end-customer have 2x WS-C3750X-24T-L   and also 2x C3KX-NM-10GT. The switchs are working as a stack, I can't get link up in the Tengig interfaces. We're using CAT6a cables with just 3 meters. The cable worked between two servers with 10g nics.
It seems to me that the issue is the 10GT modules. When I reload the frulink I get the errors below:
    Can't get the driver hwdb = 0x62D4530 (DTVR-3750X-2)
Failed to initialize Aquantia PHY.  (DTVR-3750X-2)

    Can't get the driver hwdb = 0x611D478

If it was just one module and one switch I would think that is hardware, but in two different switchs and modules...
    I've tested two different versions:
    15.2(1)E1 and 15.0(2)SE5
    - reload the entire stack;
    - put the switch in standalone;
    - re-seat the module;
    - tried to enable ipservices license;
    Nothing worked.
    Any help would be great.
    Thank you.

  • Catalyst 3560 and MGBIC

    Hi,
I would like to know if the MGBSX1 and MGBLX1 are compatible with Catalyst 3560 SFP ports (WS-C3560G-24TS). I'm looking to directly connect my fibers to my switch, but I couldn't find out the difference between MGBICs and GLC-LH-SM=, for example. Cause MGBICs are really, really cheaper.
    Thanks,
    Caio.

Yes the MGBIC is cheaper then the GLC-LH.  Although made by the same group of manufacturers Cisco has inserted an IDPROM algorythm to check.  The MGBIC doesn't have this value.
Cisco has put a stop to the enterprising practice of purchasing 3rd party (and cheaper) modules to be used in their equipment and then ring up TAC for issues with it.

Fyi.. I've tried to install DBD::Oracle version 1.24 and 1.50 but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I couldn't find any related thread either for this error so I desperately need a solution to the same(if any).

While installing Lion my Bluetooth module disappeared. How can I reinstall it?

You ought to get a dialog asking to install the first time you run an app that needs it
    Details here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167855/installing_mountain_lion_what_you_need_t o_know.html
    The relevant bit is this:
Note that the first time you try to load a webpage or run an app that requires Java, Mountain Lion will prompt you to download and install the Java runtime, even if you upgraded from Snow Leopard or Lion and you’d previously installed Java. This is normal—you shouldn’t worry that installing Mountain Lion somehow “lost” any of your data or apps.
Or you can go to the Apple Downloads page and search for Java

  • Remotely installing the Inventory Only Module

    Version 11.3
I want to install the inventory only module to multiple windows devices. The only documentation I can find states you have to download the agent and install at the windows device. https://www.novell.com/documentation...deployment.pdf. Is there a way to install this module using the ZENworks console? I can't seem to find it. Deployment task is only set to to install the ZENworks Adaptive Agent.
    Thanks,
    Bill

I also like to point out that the Discovery tool is not designed to be
the only way or even necessarily the main way of pushing agents.
Login Scripts, AD Scripts, or any other management tool can push the
agents (If you don't have any management tools, you should be
    considering the full product.)
Even a Scripted PSEXEC would work for you, but only in theory.
The issue is that by default, Non-Domain Joined PCs will not permit
remote software installation unless you perform quite a bit of manual
configuration. So if your PCs are not in a domain and you have no
management tools, you will need to visit the PC to manually configure it
to allow a remote push at a future time that you hope the PC may be
powered on and not in use. So if you are going to do all that work, it
would only make sense to install the agent while you are there at that time.
In my mind, the Discovery and Deployment tool is best for discovering
straggler devices missing the agent and less at deploying since there
are so many limitations due to the very nature of basic default Windows
    security.
The best bet in my mind is to try and figure out a way to use your
current management methods, even if they are as simple as logon scripts,
to push/pull down the agent instead of trying to remotely access the PC
in the hopes it is on, since that method has a whole series of hurdles
    that are tough to overcome.

  • Dynamic VLANs on a Catalyst 3560

    Hello,
I'm looking for a solution that would enable me to assign users to a specific VLAN based on MAC address. I'm using a Catalyst 3560 switch. Is there something similar to VMPS that would allow me to do this? I would like to run VMPS, but it looks like you need a VMPS server (catalyst 5000) to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

They can be is the answer; however they don't have to be. Not all Cisco IP Phones have an 802.1x Supplicant (I assume you are using Cisco IP Phones and Voice VLANs?), only the newer ones do I think (7941, 7961, 7970 etc). I think by default the Voice VLAN on the access port does not do 802.1x authentication so the Phones bypass any 802.1x authentication.
If you have non-Cisco IP Phones then there are some more hurdles like VLAN detection and depending on the Vendor this can be achieved in a number of ways. It's should all be possible though.

Since 8.5.1 is just a minor upgrade to 8.5 I guess it should do ..
But does it work effectively while importing code to  ARM processor

    Hi Bharath,
No, it's not a good ideal to install an 8.5.1 module on LabVIEW 8.5.  It may function, but chances are that it won't.  The versions should match exactly.
You will want to upgrade your LabVIEW to 8.5.1 before installed the LabVIEW Embedded Module for ARM Microcontrollers.  (Of course, you are welcome to try, but I suspect that you will get an installation error.)

CAT3750 series support stackwise technology while 3560s do not. This is the main difference between 3560s and 3750s. The switching architecture between the two is very similar. Stackwise comes with lot of advantages. You can find more on CCO at
