Installing clean copy of Windows 7 without out-of-box state software?

I have the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6025 model and was wanting to do a clean install of Windows 7 on it. Without using the system recovery option and having it formated too out-of-box state. I was just wondering if it would effect the computer in any way? Because I know their are lots of system programs that come a long with it for key features. What do you think?

Perhaps I can add some usefull information here.  Most, if not all, computer manufacturers no longer provide recovery disks.  Some provide these at a small cost.  They do provide intruction how to make these disks.  There is a great amount of free information available on the internet how to do this.  The hard drive on new machines usually has 2 partitions, 1 is the recovery partition (dive), the other is the system partition (generally drive "C").  These partitions also contain the product bloatwhere specific to there products.  Most users find these utilities very useful.  If you format the drive and install a fresh operating system (lets say Windows 7) you generally will only have 1 partition (drive "C") without the product utilities.  The machine will work just fine.  Keep in mind, you will have to download and install new drivers and operating system updates and perhaps will need to make some system changes, such as screen resolution. I DO NOT SUGGEST THIS FOR MOST USERS.  Most users are starting to understand the need to backup their DATA, very few backup the system.  Anyone that buys a new machine should first make the system recovery disks, then do all the system and driver updates and back up once again. I suggest purchasing a USB hard drive and a product such as CMS Bounceback.  Backup the entire system, perhaps weekly or monthly depending on your useage.  In the event of a hard drive failure, you can swop the drive and be back in business in less than 1 hour.  You can also backup from the spare hard drive.

  • Thinkpad S440: installing a clean copy of windows 7 professional

    Hi there,
I wanted to install a clean copy of windows 7 professional on my thinkpad s440. With the initial install, I've had peculiar issues with some devices and the Lenovo software. The power manager caused a massive slowdown on resuming from sleep if I had memory-intensive applications open, which was completely resolved when I uninstalled it. There's been other issues with WiFi stability, webcam use and mousepad behaviour among others.
I have a couple of questions before going ahead with this. Firstly, the laptop has no visible signs of any COA or windows 7 product key. As the laptop only comes with the recovery partition and no disks, how do I know the windows 7 installation will activate successfully or that I won't need a CD key during the install?
If I use the digitalriver file to create USB bootable install media, is there a md5 checksum or something else I can do to ensure what I download is not corrupted or altered in any way? It's not easy using the internet without connection errors happening over a few hours especially with what I have to use in China!!
    Any help appreciated!

My question is basically how to reinstall windows 7 without the Lenovo bloatware, especially if I don't have any Windows 7 CD key available.
I have searched for this before and anything I read assumes I have a CD drive, or a CD key for windows 7 professional or that I had windows 8 pro and used downgrade rights. None of those scenarios apply to me.
Can anyone out there help with this? Thanks in advance!

  • Once ipad 1 restored to out of box state how do you update ioS

Got new iPad Air and wanted to give original iPad to my mom, so restored the iPad to its out of box state.  However, now when she goes to set up the iPad as hers and update the software, it says the software is up-to-date (at ioS 5).  How does she update?

Because Apps get updated all the time. If you had already downloaded a prior version of the App then that's what you were using and not the updated version.
Your mom should still be able to get a version of the App for the older iOS version though.
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5919
You may need to download the newest version to a compatible device or a computer running itunes so it gets registered to the Apple ID she is using now and can be downloaded then form the Purchased tab in the App Store App.

  • I have lost my disks for my imac computer and now its on a grey screen cause i have no time machine backup. How can i restore my imac to the original out of box state please

You need to contact Apple Customer Service about purchasing replacement discs for the computer. You have posted in the PPC forum, so I assume you do not have an Intel Mac, but since you haven't stated what you have we simply don't know enough to assist you.

  • Recovery out-of-box state

    hello,
I have a toshiba satellite u400. I have used the system recovery (out-of-box state) multiple times by using the recovery disc and it worked. But lately when I try to do so, i get an error message, "cannot create or replace BIN: the path is too deep." This error occurs at the beginning of the recovery process while creating hdd recovery area. Is there a way around this?
    thank you,
    abdul

It sounds like there might be a problem with the hard drive itself.

  • I have Windows 8.1 standalone updates. I want to install them automatically while installing fresh copy of windows 8.1. How?

I have downloaded Windows 8.1 standalone updates from Microsoft Download Center. I don't want them to be separately installed on Windows 8.1 Copy. I want to keep the updates somewhere in Windows 8.1 setup USB/DVD so that while installing using that USB/DVD,
the updates should be automatically installed.

  • How to install clean copy

    Hello
I have upgread my Macbook pro with Lion and I would like remove the OS and install new copy.
How to get a copy of lion to install it at my Macbook pro without installing the old OS and upgraed?
    thank you

Boot into the Lion Recovery partition and install from there. There is also Disk Utility to erase the drive.
Why do you  wish to waste a lot of time erasing the disk and reinstalling? Is there something wrong with the installation?

  • Out of Box Recovery doesn't match out of box state

I am working to get my mom's Satellite A660 back up and running. I helped her buy it from Toshiba Direct last year and I chose the customization options because she doesn't like dealing with technology. I know that I chose the installed operating system to be Windows 7 Professional, and that matches the Windows sticker on the bottom of the laptop. We also chose to have it shipped with Office 2010 included.
Three days ago things went downhill for her system and it started running extremely slow, being glitchy, and windows explorer kept crashing. At some points it wouldn't get past the "Starting Windows" screen. After running the System Repair options, Windows troubleshooting options, and antivirus scans and not getting results, I decided that using the Toshiba recovery options would be best.
Not only was the recovery glitchy (it would have an error and have to shutdown and restart) but when all the recovery was complete, the "Out of Box" factory settings and system are NOT the same as when we first opened it from the box. The biggest descrepancy is that Windows 7 is no longer the Professional version but it is now Home Premium. Also, I notice that when I view the available drives in Windows explorer, the recovery partition that was listed is now gone. This would be irritating but acceptable, however, the computer is now just as clunky and glitchy but in different ways.
I'm actually on a different computer to write this because Firefox keeps not responding, Windows Update is not downloading any updates, and the computer is extremely slow. Does anybody know anything about this scenario? I am extremely disappointed with the recovery process, my mom needs her laptop for school, and I am trying to solve this for her before she really loses it!
How can I get the correct Out of Box recovery?? Why doesn't the OS match what truly came to us in the first place? Will this create licensing issues? Most importantly, how can I get the computer into a fresh, non-problematic state??
    Thanks in advance.

If it's still under warranty, send it back. That would be my first option. I wouldn't be surprised if they put in the wrong OS in the recovery partition. It's typical copy and paste from their typical best selling system is what you have. You can always call their 800 number and see if they will support you even if it's not under warranty.
Toshiba is making a lot of junk lately. I've owned 3 Toshibas prior to acquiring my latest POS last year.

  • New 2011 Imac out of box, updated software now wont boot up? Ive had this machine for 24 hours!

Brand new out of box Imac 27" Booted up ok. Downloaded/updated software and prompted restart and now no screen? Makes the boot up noise but screen remains black? Any ideas or others with similar problem? Very dissapointed in product considering Im replacing my older Imac of 3.5yrs (out of warranty) with faulty hard drive.

Unplug it. Wait 2 minutes (don't rush it). Plug it back in. Power it up. Have patience during the first startup.
If the computer hasn't booted to the desktop (or the login screen if you have auto login disabled) within 5 minutes, considering that it's brand-new-out-of-the-box, call Apple and schedule a repair appointment at your nearest Apple Store.
I know it's annoying that you might have a lemon, but it does happen - don't give up on Mac because you got the one bad Apple.

  • Install Bootcamp assistant on Windows 7 without a CD

    Hey guys,
I'm having trouble understanding how to fix this issue. I've installed windows 7 no problem, but am not able to use it since I don't have the drivers. I looked around the internet and found out you have to have Lion X CD, but the problem is that I wasn't given one. I checked my box and everywhere, but it seems that there was a Recovery HD installed. Anyone can help?
    Thanks

Lion is a download from the App store. No one who bought a mac with Lion on it got a disk.

I want to use my mac mini as a stand alone hardawre for windows 8. If it is possible please help with what to do...

Backup / clone Mac OS X to another drive for safe keeping.
Boot from Windows 8 DVD and just format the entire drive, make sure to have everything else not needed unpugged.
    Nothing hard.

    Hello,
1- I want format and re-instal the Lion in my MacbookPro. I bought my mac with Lion included but it didn't come with any cd... I just need internet connection and it will download it and install?
2 - How I can schedule to run a bash script daily at X hour? (I thave tried iCal but it only runs OSx Scripts =S )

if you would like to earse and install.
Boot to the recovery drive holding option on the keyborad when turning the comptuer one
    Go into disk utility
    Select the Mac HD
    Click Earse
Format > Mac os x extended journaled
    Name : Macantosh Hd
Click earse > going to delete everything
    > once progress bar is gone
    > close window
    > go to lion reinstall
DO NOT EARSE THE ENTIRE HD BECAUSE YOU WILL LOOSE THE LION RECOVERY AND WILL NOT BE ABEL TO REINSTALL... unless you have a model that now includes the network reinstall of lion
ie : dont click on the one that says 500.11 gb > yours might be smaller or bigger but this is just an example

  • How to install fresh copy of os x without DVD or CD

I want to install OS x on Macbook pro laptop, I have erase all data through dist utility and when i reinstall os x it will give me message like "You must sign in with an Apple ID that was used to purchase "OS X Maverick"

    bigschwabbel wrote:
Is that the case, if the Mac came with an older version of OS X and has been updated (including the Recovery Partition) to Mavericks?
Yes, so it's often the case with a used Mac unless the previous owner prepared it for sale correctly.
If IR (Internet Recovery) is used instead no ID will be needed, but the version of OSX that will be installed is the one that the machine shipped with.
