Installing clicky on iweb site

Hi.
I was wondering what the procedure is to install "Clicky" (analytics), to all pages of my iweb site.
With Google Analytics, you can do this fairly easily with Automator. Does anyone know how to do so with Clicky?
Thanks in advance

On this page :
     http://getclicky.com/#/help/apps-plugins
click Your custom web site
Where it says :
We recommend putting the code right before the closing </body> tag.
So open each published page and paste the code before the </body> element.
BTW, your fairly easy way of adding Google Analytics with Automator is rather timewasting.
Read here how I do it :
iWeb : Adding Google Analytics without editing the webpage
Perhaps you can do it the same way with Clicky :

iWeb stores the data in a Domain.sites2 file whose default location is shown here...

Try this community: MobileMe on my Mac: MobileMe: Apple Support Communities.
And you can continue to use iWeb for some time to come. The following will explain:
It's now confirmed that iWeb and iDVD have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. HOWEVER, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
In addition the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on.
HOWEVER, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still currently available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those copies still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD.

  • Rebuilding Photo Pages from Lost iWeb Site

I mistakenly deleted my backed up iWeb domain file after doing a fresh install of OSX. I know there is no way to import the published HTML files into iWeb, so I am in the process of making a copy of my website manually. I am looking for a way to rebuild my photo pages that doesn't require me to look at the published site, identify which photo is on the site, find it in iPhoto, and drag it to my new iWeb site. Instead, what I'd like to do is grab the photo files from iDisk for each photo page, and then drop them into my new iWeb site. However, I can't seem to find on my iDisk where the actual photo files are stored. I suspect I am looking in the wrong place. The files in the iDisk/Web/Sites/Site Name/My Albums/Pages/Album Name/Media/Photo Name are too small and low quality. When I click the download link from the published site, it's the full size file. Where is this stored?

How do I get an iWeb site to show up on a google search?

How soon will the GA page indicate that the code has been added and tracking started? I added the code to the my Demo and Tutorial Contents pages and GA still indicates that tracking hasn't been installed.
I am using the full url to the analytics.js file in the HTML snippet:
    newScript.src = 'http://web.me.com/toad.hall/js/demoanalytics.js';
The file shows up in the Activity window. I've done the same for the contents page of my tutorial site with the same results. The two sites are Tutorials and Demo.
    Any suggestions?

  • Making an iweb site for .mac on a computer with no internet connection

    Hi.
I am making an iweb site for publishing to a .mac account on a computer that is supposed to have internet access via airport, but it's not working properly at the moment.
I would really like to transfer the site onto my other machine in my office which has a decent broadband connection (I have iweb installed on there too). Is it possible to transfer a site that is yet to be published from one computer to another?
    regards
    David T

    David,
You might want to try burning your Domain file to a CD or DVD by using http://iWebFAQ.com/iWebBackup.zip and opening the file & Publish from the other computer while effectively backing up your Domain file in the process.

how do i save a iWEB site on an imac ( to what folder and where) and then transfer to a laptop ?

You transfer it via CD or flash drive or whatever. You install it by simply dragging and dropping the file into the folder on the new machine which corresponds to the folder where you got in on the old one.

You can't sync your published iWeb site from MobileMe back to a new disk. Only iWeb's Domain file can be opened in iWeb. See this Apple doc on How to back up MobileMe data. It says:
Any websites you have published with iWeb should still be available within iWeb. iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved). If you no longer have this file, you can view your currently published pages and manually recreate them within iWeb, but there is no way to import published pages back into iWeb.
You can manually back up the Domain file, or use Backup to back it up.
See also this Apple doc: _iWeb: Backing up your Domain file_
Paragraph 2.3 of this FAQ page gives some tips on how to use published files, graphics, photos, etc., to help rebuild the site from scratch:

  • Lost iWeb site after reinstalling OS

I installed Leopard using the clean install but forgot to backup my iWeb site from my Library. I have the entire site online. Is there a way to recreate the iWeb site locally from my .mac account?

Without the Domain.sites file there is no way.

  • How to copy iWeb blog to new iWeb site?

    Hi Folks,
I am able to successfully move, via drag and drop, my blog from an old iWeb site to a new one in iWeb.
However, what I want to do is to preserve the old blog as a backup, and them start updating and chagging the blog contet in the new iWeb site. I actually use the blog on my site as a way to list courses.
I've tried to copy files in the iWeb site files, and then reopen iWeb, and I can't see the blog page listed.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Inoshi

To be able to drop and drag from one site to another in iWeb, you firstly need to have iWeb 09.  You then need to open the relevant domain.sites file and you need to have the sites underneath each other, so Site1 above and then Site2 below and all you do is just click on the Blog page on Site1 and just drag it over and down to Site2.
You can't do it individually, but you need to drag from one site to another.
I would also advise that you don't use the iWeb blog, as it is not that good and there are better alternatives out there.
You might like to look at some new software too such as EverWeb - http://www.everwebapp.com.  It is very like iWeb, but is actively supported and developed whereas for the last 2 years, iWeb has not been and has not been sold by Apple either.
If you wanted a better blogging system, you could transfer your whole website into WordPress.org.  You need to install it on a server at your web host, but it might serve you better and you can create a blog it you want to and you can extend it with the use of plugins.  Would not take too long to re-create depending on the size of your site and it is relatively easy to use compared to the other CMS's.
Think about changing before iWeb becomes unusable.

  • Migrating iWeb site from '06 version to '09 version

I recently found that I could not publish a blog page using my old '06 version of iWeb and was instructed to upgrade. I just upgraded to the '09 version. It was also recommended to me that I first save my iWeb site onto a USB, which I did. I now have the new version installed on my computer and need to know how to transfer/migrate the website onto the new iWeb version.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
It was also recommended to me that I first save my iWeb site onto a USB
The file you should be backing up is named Domain.sites which is located in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. The published web site can be found on your server and doesn't need to be backed up.
With the new iWeb installed, and a backup of your domain.sites file on the USB drive, launch iWeb and it will open the domain file, convert it to the 09 version.

  • Retrieve iweb site from godaddy

I had to do a clean install on my mac pro - so could not alter my iweb site which is hosted on godaddy, using fetch I retrieved the all web site files in one folder, but cannot seem to get iweb to run them.
Is there a special place that I should put them?
    Thanks
    Mike

iWeb won't 'run' those pages because iWeb has no import facility so is unable to open html files and a published site, which is effectively what you have downloaded from GoDaddy.
Did you not backup your hard drive before you did a clean install? Did you not back up your domain.sites file to be precise? This is where iWeb stores all its data and is the file that you need to be able to make any alterations to your site. It is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Make sure it is your User Library that you look under and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
If you can't find this file then you are looking at re-building your site from scratch in iWeb.
This is a hard lesson to learn about backing up your domain.sites file, but if you have done this once you won't make the same mistake again.

  • Need iWeb site from TM backup

    Hi,
I re-installed my OS and would like to bring back my iweb site I was working on from a Time Machine backup. I was hoping someone could direct me to the file that I need to restore to get my site I was working on back.
    Thanks guys

You need to restore the domain from the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ folder, where ~ is your home folder on the backup.

  • Restoring iWeb Site

I have just done a clean install of Leopard and having been bringing in my data in stages. I have a publish to folder of my website on my desktop and also a clone of my previous system on external hard drive. How do I bring my one iWeb Site into the newly installed iWeb 08?
    Thanks
    Stu

in the cloned files you should be able to find the "domain" file in the "username"/library/application support/iweb
put this file in the same place in you new setup.

  • Error when Publishing iWeb Site (iWeb 1.1.2)

I am consistently unable to publish my website. The following is the most recent error:
An error occurred while publishing file “/Web/Sites/iWeb/Site/Worcester, MAfiles/_MG0611.jpg”.
Before this one, it was a different jpg image that caused the publish to fail. I feel like three pictures have made the publish fail. I have done nothing different, I just try to keep publishing.
These are the most recent changes that might have effected something:
    1. I upgraded to Leopard.
    2. I edited three pages, removed one page, and added two additional pages.
    3. I did not finish publishing after these changes because I had to board a plane.
    4. I uploaded pictures to my computer, and then ran out of space.
    5. I had troubles, but with Apple Discussion help (thank you) I was able to install my external hard drive, utilize Time Machine, and free up space on my hard drive. (I now have 21G on my internal drive available)
    6. I moved iTunes music folder to external
    7. I added more photos to iphoto, and added another page.
I have tried to publish several times unsuccessfully. Twice, my network went down. The other times, I get a file error (always a different file). And these were pages I did not even touch.
My entire website is now "red", meaning it needs to be published.
    HELP!!!! I am sooo distressed.
