Installing CS5 from Win XP to Win 7

I am about to install windows 7 after using windows xp which i am currently using with CS5 Extended.
As a student my concern is will i be able to load CS5 Extended to windows 7 without problems or will i have problems, because as i understand the software can only be used on one registered PC.
Can some one please offer some help before i start the process.
Thank you.

If you are removing Creative Suite software from you computer and installing it on another computer, you'll need to deactivate the software. Remember that you must first deactivate your software before you uninstall it on one computer and install it on another. Unistalling does not deactivate your Adobe software automatically.
Note: Lightroom does not have an activate/deactivate option.
To deactivate the software from your computer:
Make sure the computer that has the software installed is connected to the Internet.
Choose Help > Deactivate in the product you wish to deactivate.  If you have a suite then choosing one of the products will Deactivate the entire sute.
Select Deactivate Permanently
For troubleshooting information related to Adobe activation and deactivation, see Activation, Deactivation | Adobe Products.
This document contains information on common questions related to activation and deactivation such as:
- Uninstalled the software without deactivating it.
- No access to previous computer : Lost, Stolen, and crashed computers.
- Deactivation option is disabled.
- Options to contact Customer support. The page is Chat enabled. You will be able to chat with a person as soon as a tech support person is available.

  • Installing CS5 from Win to Mac

Just purchased a new Macbook Pro and I'm trying to migrate my CS5 license for Windows over to my new Mac.  Is this possible?  I have the installation DVD for Windows, but obviously it will not work on my Mac.  Is there somewhere I can download the Mac version and will my license for Windows work with my Mac.  I'm trying to avoid having to use BootCamp and would rather stay all Apple if possible.
    Thanks.

No, it can't be done. Serials are platform specific. Migration is only possible for current versions, meaning you upgrade to CS6 and make the switch.

Try using the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool
helps resolve installation problems for CS3 thru CS6 and for Creative Cloud

If you continue to have problems getting the CD installation to work you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Problems installing CS5 from an external HDD

I'm having issues installing CS5 on to my win 7 laptop.  CS5 was loaded onto my external HDD by the administrator at my workplace; when I attempted to install it, it seemed to be going fine until it asked me to 'insert disk 2' to continue.  I tried to mount the iso image file but the couple of programs I tried didn't allow me to do so.  CLONE DVD2 seemed to be working up to the point of burning the DVD but the file was too big to fit on a DVD.  Can I mount the ISO and open it without burning it, if so, using what software?

IsoBuster, WinRAR, 7zip all can mount or open ISO images. The severity of your problem makes me think that the image is damaged, though, which could even mean that the original DVD was damaged and thus wrong CRC info ended up on the ISO...

  • OfficejetPro8500 All-in-One Printer: sometimes install disappears from WIN-XP computer

Installed the HP 8500 printer a few months ago for a client. Install worked fine with no immediate problems (not using Wi-Fi, just a direct USB connection). Over the last few weeks, sometimes, after booting the computer (Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, WIN-XP SP3), the HP 8500 printer isn't recognized by Windows at all (as if it was never installed). After shutting down the computer and rebooting, the printer is recognized.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP 8500 software, but that didn't solve the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
Is there a patch or updated driver/software I should install?
    Thank you,

PS. I always by HP computers and peripherals, for myself and my clients, have for years. They are the longest lasting and best hardware out there.

First of all, thanks for being a loyal HP customer!
I don't believe there is any updated software.  12.0 is the current revision and was release in Jan. 2009.
Of course, upon boot, the computer will look for USB connected devices.  So, it appears it is not seeing the 8500 sometimes.  I would start with swapping for a known good USB cable that supports bi-directional communication (any new USB 2.0 certified cable should do).
If that does not work, note whether the printer is in standby (sleep) mode during boot or whether it is awake.  This may yield some additional clues.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Multiple error messages while trying to instal cs5 from CD

    Hello!
I have tried to chat with an expert about this 3 times and can never connect with anyone. Hopefully someone here will respond!
I have the CS5 design standard disc set. I had some trouble installing Adobe Acrobat, but was finally successful. However I cannot get the rest of the programs to install and I don't understand why.
"Installer failed to initialize. File Not Found. Please contact adobe support advisor to detect the problem." I click "get adobe support advisor" and it takes me to a webpage stating that support advisor has been discontinued. This happens repeatedly for a few days then suddenly, the installation starts! I get almost all the way through when it shuts down and gives me yet another error message. Now it won't open and either says to contact the support advisor or that I am running another version of adobe installer. I have tried restarting multiple times.
    What can I do?

copy the installation files from your cd to a desktop directory.  install from the desktop directory.
if you see the same 'installer failed to initialize':
start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.
    if cc (win):  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-application-failed.html
    if, your error is:
"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
    to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
    mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
    if you're using a mac:
    1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
    2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
    3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
    5. Start the installation again.
if everything applicable above fails, check your installation logs:

  • Installing CS5 from the DVD: what did I do wrong?

    Hi,
I only recently got around to installing a copy of Photoshop CS5 (standard suite, for Windows), having bought it a month or two ago. I've only ever owned much earlier versions of Photoshop. This was a copy on a DVD, bought from a legitimate source, here in Europe.
When I ran the Setup for its installation, however, I was surprised that no Custom Install feature was offered and indeed the installation simply proceeded in one lengthy operation and then terminated.
Beside of course Photoshop and Bridge, it's installed an Adobe Media Player and also Adobe Air, two apps that had I known were going to be installed and had there been a Custom Install offering, I would have opted not to have. I've just built a new PC and want to minimise what I install on it, and I certainly haven't intended to install apps that I'm never likely to use. Unfortunately, these unwanted apps have now ruined my strategy.
I performed the Setup with my antivirus and software firewall both disabled, so as not to interfere with it.
Did I do something wrong at the start of the Setup? Did I miss an Options page, or something? At the start, on the left of the screen, I thought I saw Options as one of what I presumed to be the various stages of the installation, but when I started the install it just went right through, not stopping, to completion.
And something else is puzzling me. When I go into the Properties of each component of the Suite that's been installed and look at their sizes, Photoshop CS5 is apparently around 370MB, Bridge is 126MB, and the rest range from 2.5MB to 50MB. (These may now be a little bit bigger, as I've downloaded updates for the Suite). The whole lot appears to add up individually to no more than about 650MB. However, if I look in Add/Remove Programs in Windows, it shows Photoshop CS5 as being 1.56GB. Surely, Photoshop is not that size, is it? Can someone explain?
Incidentally, judging by what I see in Add/Remove Programs, it's possible to uninstall Air and Adobe Media Player. Adobe Device Central is particularly something I don't need or want but, annoyingly, isn't listed there.

You need to save to the camera roll of the iPad, not the Movies app.
So you will need to save the videos to the iPad via the Photos Tab.
If you can see the video in the photos app then iMovie can see them.
If you can see the videos in the movies app then iMovie cannot (Movies is for copyright movies so iMovie does not look there).
There are a few threadson here that have the same question as yours.
You can have a look at them.

  • Can't install CS5 from disc

I can't install Photoshop CS5 because the installation asks me to insert CS5 disc but it alreay is inserted.  This is after entering the serial number and signing in.

you can click or double click the setup file.
or if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies: http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.

  • Migrate Photoshop CS5 from XP to Win7

I have been using CS5 with Win XP (32 bit).  I had a hard drive crash & must rebuild my system.  I would like to migrate to Win 7.  Will my CS5 install OK on Win 7 (32 bit)?
    thanks
    nuke

yes, but don't "migrate" your apps. install them properly using the cs5 installation files.  some people need to use compatibility mode to install cs5 on win 7, but most do not.

  • Installing CS5 on Mac OS 10.5.8

When attempting to install CS5 from original DVDs on a Mac g5 running OS 10.5.8, I get the following message when double clicking "install.app":
CS5 is supposed to run on this version, but will it run on the G5 power pc architecture?

Barb - For Mac users, CS5 apps will only on an Intel machine. The Master Suite Collection says it will run on OS X 10.5.7 or 10.6.3. I'm using 10.6.5 on an Intel 6-core Mac.
I had to had to buy my Intel Mac as my G5 won't run CS5. Its expensive, but the G5 is an older machine and you will see a significant improvement with the newer machines. If you don't need lots of expansion of high end video cards, the Intel iMacs are a big step up from the G5 for most graphics applications.
FWIW, there are a few "gotchas" to be aware of when moving to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) and CS5:
I had to replace my old Apple Laser printer as Snow Leoparddoesn't support AppleTalk. Not a big deal, as laser printers are much cheaper and faster these days, but it was an additional expense I didn't anticipate. I don't know if CS5 and 10.5.7 support AppleTalk, but it may be something to consider if you buy an Intel machine and need to print via Apple Talk.
CS5 InDesign has removed the "no color management" option in the print dialog box. Some ink jet printers need color management turned off, so this can be a problem for some people.
    have a good 2011

  • How Can I install CS5 Production on iMac with Lion?

The install seems to be going fine and then either a) crashes out or b) continues to the end, but gives an error message saying all applications had an error installing and I need to re-install.
I've tried uninstalling CS5 and running Adobe Cleaner too.  Also tried uninstalling Adobe Air.  Java is installed.  I did that early on.
The Adobe Suport Advisor said I should open the activity monitor and close all conflicting programs, but it didn't list which ones were conflicting.
I was thinking of re-installing Lion, but I'm not sure who to do that since the iMac did not come with any OS discs.
Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

    Here's a screenshot

    Michael -
Thanks for the tip.  I'm trying it right now.
    I uninstalled CS5
    Uninstalled Adobe Air
went through the library and deleted all files with "adobe" in the name (except fonts)
did a search for files with "Adobe" in them and deleted all of those
    resinstalled Lion OS
    rebooted
downloaded and installed Java Runtime 1.6
    rebooted
and now I've just begun re-installing CS5 from the DVDs.  I will let you know how it goes.  Thanks again!

  • Following having to erase the hard drive, I am attempting to re-install CS5 upgrade........

Following having to erase the hard drive, I am attempting to re-install CS5 from previously registered CDs as an upgrade to CS2. Although at the time of purchase, CS2 was acceptable, and the serial numbers of the NEW software remain registered on my 'account', the serial number of the original CS2 is now rejected as UN-acceptable, the oldest version now acceptable seeming to be CS3
    What do I do????

can you select cs2 as an upgradeable option in the dropdown box after entering your cs5 serial number?
if yes, use this serial number, Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
if not,  contact adobe support by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
