Installing CS5 triggers Virus Warning

Hi All,
I have recently installed CS5 onto a brand new computer, running Windows 7, which has not been connected to the internet yet. During my first attempt at installation, my Bitdefender virus protection warned that 'Adware.Rotator.L' was located during the installation process.
The programmes (Indesign etc) then failed to open, again with the virus warning appearing'.
Having read through the forums, I then reinstalled CS5 with the virus software turned off, as recommended. Im now able to use the software without issue, however only when the Virus Protection is turned off. When I turn bitdefender back on, the programme (Indesign etc) crashes on opening
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Adobe also advises to disable such virus detection software while installing Adobe software. Reenable the virus protection when installation is completed.

I had the same problem referenced, and tried a fair number of things simultaneously, and was able to successfully re-install CS5 & then upgrade to 6.2 Adobe Camera Raw.
1. Remove Program (through add/remove programs).
2. Run the CS5 removal script (downloaded from Adobe - be careful to wait until all files are extracted).
3. Run MSCONFIG (type it into "Run" on start menu). Disable every single item in Services and Startup that authored by Adobe. Also disable your anti-virus software and any program that syncs your files).
4. Disable Windows Firewall.
5. Reboot
6. Run the installation program. Be sure to right click, and "run as administrator". Hope for success.
7. Run from Photoshop Updates (click help at the top, then updates). Hope for success.
8. Reverse steps 3 and 4.
9. Reboot.

Cannot Install CS5 trial version on Vista 64 bit...been weeks..please help..!

I've been trying to install the CS5 for a couple of week now but cannot get it to install. I've tried lots of things I've seen in the forums but I still cannot get it to install. I'd appreciate it if someone could offer some help and direction to step me through the possible issues. I've tried uninstalling, using the cs5 cleanup utility, changing permissions on the entire Adobe folder, completely uninstalling any Adobe product, deleting all reference folders, running as administrator, etc etc but nothing works. I've turned off firewall and antivirus, closed all applications including start-up items, and still nothing.
I'll start again and list my issues and perhaps someone can help..

Try this microsoft solution, it worked for me on Vista with SP2, 32 bit. Even though you have a 64bit system, I think this solution might well work. I spent 9 days with Adobe trying to install $1,700 software, and still they haven't given me a solution. Opened Microsoft tech support case today, and everything is now installed, CS5 and Acrobat 9 professional. Installed Acrobat 9 the same was as CS5, and installed it using the new Admintrator account.

Error in installing CS5

Hello,
I have tried to install CS5 in my MacBook Air OS 10.8.5
I installed all the programs
Bridge, Device Central, Extension Manager, Illustrator, InDesign, Media Encoder, Photoshop
but I do not succeed in installing Acrobat X Pro: I have tried 2 times and always at the end reported this message:

I thank you very much but in the meantime I have found a workaround to solve the problem:
Instead of starting from
DVD CS5_5 Design Std 1 / Adobe CS5_5 Design Standard / Install.app
i tried from
DVD CS5_5 Design Std 1 / Adobe CS5_5 Design Standard / payloads / AcrobatProfessional10.0-ISDP, where I launched Adobe Acrobat X Pro Installer.pkg and it worked successfully.

How can I fix errors installing CS5.5 in Windows 8?

I have had to wait to install CS5.5 64-Bit on a portable until I had a 64-bit system, but unfortunately CS installer has issues with Windows8 on my new laptop and I got a boat load of non-fatal errors asking for a new install that I don't think will make a difference. I have not been able to find a fix yet, but does anyone know how to deal with the compatability problems I suspect are the culprate?

Cannot install CS5.5 Upgrade now

Hi,
I know it's older software but I am in need of some serious help! I tried to contact support but because it's older software he said he could not help and that was the last thing he said. I really need to get this up and running and have been going through thread after thread and no real luck/success. I meet all the system requirements.
I will try to give as much detail as to what I have done up until now:
1-2 weeks ago I did an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit to utilize 32GB RAM, language UI and BitLocker and I own Adobe CS5 MS and the CS5.5 MS Upgrade (discs).
Today I decided to install CS5.5 MS, which asked for both license numbers and then when I was asked to log in, it did NOT recognize my password. I went ahead and logged into the Adobe.com site and changed password and it still does not recognize that. So I skipped that and finished installing. I got all kinds of errors (as usual) but tried to install updates anyway, which failed. Then I decided to try and figure this out on my own.
One suggestion said to try and install CS5.5 Master Suite in Safe Mode with all but MS services turned off. Tried that and no errors but when I opened Photoshop (even tried Dreamweaver) to get to the updates, they failed.
I also read someone said all their problems went away when they went to Adobe's website and just downloaded and installed CS5.5 MS but when I did that, I put the key in and it no longer asked for my 2nd license key so I KNEW I was in trouble then. Sure enough it said it was invalid license key when I tried to do updates.
I read somewhere to download and install the Adobe Application Manager (I think it was called) but did not do it because I was unsure if it was correct or would even help.
I tried to do a installation of single items at a time, instead of doing all at once. When it said insert disc 2, it failed.
I also read to use adobe ccleaner and try again. Didn't fix the problems. Then I again uninstalled all adobe items from Programs and did a search and used the normal CCleaner and got anything I could off the system. There were still a few items left that could not be deleted. But tried installing again and it did not help.
Long story short, just before coming here, I tried again to install. Now I cannot even install disc 1, it just says it failed and a huge long list of errors and I have no clue how to get around this at this time.
I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but Adobe's website also told me where to find the ccleaner log and I went there and the log wasn't there. After doing a little bit of searching I found it in a different location, so even Adobe's site is not completely correct/clear.
3 Things:
I am not sure if I need to install something again before trying to install the CS5.5?
I am not sure how to get the sign-in to work during installation even if I do get it up and working?
I am not sure how to get updates to work if I manage to get the full suite installed?
Adobe is the only software that I have ever had trouble with and needed to ask for help to get it installed. And I have been working on this since yesterday and I am so frustrated I am half sick to my stomach; this stuff isn't cheap and I need it to continue working on my projects.
I always turn off System Restore because it often fails, but I do make a system image every so often. I suppose I could try to do a system image restore on my system, it's just I will lose some of the programs I installed, but if I could get very clear installation steps for this master suite, it might be worth it.
Oh, not to sound stupid, but I am not familiar with acronyms and nicknames for Adobe, so if you can help, please explain details to me so I can follow, otherwise I might be asking a ton of questions! LOL

Okay, a few things here:
Failed to initialize installer problem. I would like to try this, but have NO clue what they mean.
But I did do this:

Only One Problem- I did not see where it said to uninstall and then reinstall software at this point. So, I ended up with more errors, but I read here: CS5.5 PP installation error that I really need to uninstall and reinstall, which explains some of the new errors:

Problem installing cs5.5 - exit code 6

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install cs5.5 web premium (upgrade) on windows xp sp3 but have some trouble.
Every program of the suite install right but not acrobat. At the end of installation I receive the error below.
I try to solve reinstalling and follow this article without success:

I try also disinstalling AIR and reinstall but the result is the same.

That is all what I can establish from first glance, are you trying to install 64bit software on 32 bit machine??

How my Ubuntu/Firefox 3.6.16 turned into Microsoft I.E. with a Virus Warning.

When I was 'Surfing' the Internet, looking for some "Train" Photo Wallpapers, when I clicked on a Photo to view, my Firefox 3.6.16 browser turned into a "Fake" I.E. Browser Page with a Windows "Defender" warning box in the center stating that my system was invaded with a Virus and that I had to click in the "Fix Problem Box" to remove the virus.
Being in Ubuntu/Firefox, nothing I clicked on had any effect.
I pulled my power and rebooted and I was back up and running!
I then installed a anti-virus program which could not find ant problem or Malware.
I am now attempting to find this "Bad" Photo File/Link.
The page that has/had the Bad Link was:

Can't re install CS5.5 - please help!

I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 (I use Windows) I uninstalled it because i have no space on my hard drive, and I now have CC. I can now no longer open any InDesign files despite having In Design CC. I've tried to re install CS5.5 with the disk but after installation I get these giant list of errors -

My file system is Journaled HFS+ , (is this case-insensitive??) with 30 GB free. I am running a 32bit MacBook with OSX 10.6.8 I have been on with tech support where I purchased the CS5 design premium. I have 1GB RAM, I was told by them that I need 2GB, the box system requirements state it needs 1GB and the read me file says I need 500MB.
Is this something that would prevent my install and cause these install errors under exit code 7? The warning pertaining to dependent operation failure seems too generic to help at all. I have been trying to get this program up and running for a week and my work is piling up, please help or advise. My head is spinning!
Note: Please keep in mind that I am new to Mac OS. I always been stuck with a Windows PC until recently. Therefore some things are difficult for me to grasp at this point.

This is not the first time of come across this kind of 'Virus' Like Stevejobsfan123 has rightfully stated these are indeed advert scams that get you to pay a lot of money for premium rate numbers and often install malware on your computer. If your iBook is useable and it's only effecting Safari, I would be inclined to clear your history and reset Safari or any other web browser you are using on your iBook. Install ClamXAV for Mac and scan your directories for any viruses.
Lucky for us Mac users, a lot of these scams are aimed at installing software on PC's and their for wouldn't do any harm to your iBook. If you have a PC on your home network which shares it with the iBook, be sure to scan and update your ant-virus on your PC.

The errors seem to be indicating your operating system doesn't meet the tech specs for the software. HAve you checked what you have against what is needed?

Virus Warning Symantec SB and Reader X

I get a virus warning since I installed Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Businness version. Everytime I open Adobe Reader X the virus warning pops up.
There are a bunch of cache files in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Cache that get the warning, all with the file extension .sve. The first file that popped up was rdlang_rdlang.sve. It probably has something with the language (swedish in my case) so those who have an English Adobe Reader will probably have the extension .eng.
Is this a real virus or is it Symantec who has to fix the problem? Probably the later i think..
