Installing CS6 from PC onto OSx

My serial number comes up invalid when installing Photoshop CS6 on my newMacbook that was previously running on Windows 7. I'massuming I don't need to buy an entire new key just for the platform change.

Actually, prior to the Photoshop CC subscription program, you could not use the same license on both PC and Mac.
If you were going to switch more or less permanently, you could get a transfer fromAdobe.  I believe that's still possible with Photoshop CS6.

  • Trouble installing CS6 from disc

    Hi,
I'm trying to install CS6 from disc onto my Windows Vista 64 bit laptop.  There doesn't seem to be a Setup.exe file?  Has anyone experience this problem and have a solution?
I've tried downloading CS6 from Adobe and enter my serial number from my box.  I get a message stating my serial number is invalid.  Why is that?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

According to the Adobe website, CS6 products do not support Vista
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-system-requirements.html#CS6_Design_ Standard_system_requirements
Win XP or 7 (or 8) only.
To run CS6, you'll have to upgrade your operating system or your computer.

Are you using one of the newer iMac's with no DVD drive? If so, you can either get an external CD/DVD drive (any make - doesn't have to be Apple) or, if you have another Mac on the same network that has a CD/DVD drive you may be able to do it by turning on 'DVD or CD Sharing' on that Mac (System Preferences>Sharing). Hopefully you'll see the disk on the Mac without the DVD drive and be able to install from there.

Any Adobe Desktop applications don't overwrite the older version while installation. They install in seperate folders. You can Install and use CS5 and CS6 on the same computer, even simultaneously.

  • Install CS6 from Clean OS?

Should CS6 from Creative Cloud be installed on a fresh Mac OS?  I know 5 and 5.5 worked better this way.  I have just got the subscription and was wondering.  Also will Snow Lepoard or Lion run better with this program.  I am a professional user and am finding Lion very slow. I have a Mac Pro 4+TB HD w/ 24G Ram
    Thanks
    Sara

You should be able to install CS6 on a system with CS5 or CS5.5 installed without issue, but a fresh system is usually easier.
A newer operating system such as Lion should run 'better' since it is newer, but Snow Leopard is supported for CS6.
As to Lion being slow on your system I would contact Apple customer support for help. If a particular Adobe program is having an issue on Lion let us know.

  • Can I install CS6 from Creative cloud and still have my existing CS5 software?

Basically, here is the deal.  I have been working on a couple projects in CS5 but just bought CS6 creative cloud as I want to start using it.  The question I have is, can I still use CS5 to finish up these projects and install CS6 at the same time so I can start working on new ones in CS6?  Or do I need to wait and install CS6 once I am completely done with the projects that are using CS5.  I understand that CS6 would be able to open my CS5 projects, but I just want to finish in CS5 since that is what I am used to.
Also, on a side note.  With the cloud, will I be able to install CS6 on my desktop at home and my laptop?  Thanks.

    Yes.
CS6 installs into a separate directory to CS5 and can still be used at any time after CS6 is installed.

Yes, each Adobe license permits a maximum of two activations. So you can install on two separate computers.

"Are there any unique benefits that come with my paid membership?
Yes, as a member of Creative Cloud, you get many benefits that you do not get when you purchase a traditional shrinkwrapped product:
Access to both the Mac OS and Windows® versions of the desktop applications and the ability to install them on your primary computer and one backup computer. So, if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, you can install your applications on both as long as they are not running at the same time. See the product license agreements page for more information."

  • Cannot install CS6 from MSI made with AAMEE

I need to install CS6 Design Standard on 12 Windows 8.1 workstations. I created an msi installer created with the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition. It seemed very straightforward. However when I double-click the msi to install the product, it will start to install and then the progress bar goes back to the beginning and closes. I have tried recreating the installer, run it as Administrator, moved it to a local drive instead of a network share, and tried to run it on different workstations. A quick Google search indicated many people are having this issue but no solutions were posted. Can anyone help? Thanks

  • How do I install CS6:Design Standard onto my iMac? I already had it on my MacBook Pro and should get 2 downloads with the student version?

I bought the student version of CS6 Design standard 3 years ago and installed it on my MacBook Pro. I now just purchased an iMac and would like to download it onto this as well. I should be able to download it onto two computers from what I understand, but when I insert the disk for download, there is no install.app on the disk any longer. I only see set-up.exe (which is for windows). How can I get the programs downloaded onto my iMac?

  • Cannot install CS6 on Macbook Pro OSX 10.8

So I took advantage of a sale for educators and bought Photoshop CS6 and I'm following the instructions, I downloaded the Akamai download manager and followed the instructions on the .pdf that it came with. After the download concluded, I click on open bundle and it asks if I wish to open the file downloaded from the internet (Photoshop_13_LS16.exe) and I click Open and then... nothing.
    EDIT:
Okay, I opened the 7z file using stuffit expander, however I still do not see how to install the program on my mac here as it only has setup.exe in there, no install.app like the instructions inside that folder say.
    What am I doing wrong?

Also check your order to make sure that you've purchased a Mac version. You may have purchased a Windows version, and that is why the Windows version was offerred for download.

  • HT6114 Do I have to re-install all of my software that was previously installed on Mountain Lion onto OSX Mavericks?

I have about 4 Digital Audio Workstations (DAW's), Adobe Master Suite, Native Instruments Maschine Studio, Komplete 9, and loads of other plugins that will literally take days upon days to install.
Will I have to re install all of my software or are all my programs automatically integrated into the OSX Mavericks upgrade?
I have completed a Time Machine Backup already of everything.
    Thank you guys kindly

If you are upgrading an existing system, then the only software affected is OS X. All other files are left in place untouched. Some of that software may require updating for Mavericks compatibility. You also need to be sure all your hardware meet the Mavericks requirements.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • Installing CS6 from Disk

    I have a SERIOUS problem.
I am running a legal copy of Photoshop CS6 (was) on  MacBookPro
I tried installing the update (13.0.6) and got the U44M1P7 error. Following instructions from Adobe I uninstalled my Photoshop, with the intention of reinstalling.
However, when I tried to reinstall from the regional disk, there is now an error on the disk itself. Instead of running it keeps on ejecting the disk.
This makes me believe there is a problem with the disk - where can I obtain another disk?
Or alternatively, where can I download a CS6 version without having to download the trial version of PS Cloud version?
