Installing CS6 on a different OS

Hello everyone!
I am currently running CS6 Design and Web Premium on a PC running Windows 8.1. I will very likely soon be upgrading to an iMac. I don't really know where to start getting information about reinstalling on a different OS. Any advice would be appreciated.

Suspect you have wrong disk. Each operatiing system comes with it's own disc in my experience.
If you pruchased it, then did you specify that it was OSX? IF so, go back to the supplier.
If you purchased from Adobe, downlaod Mac version

I want to install CS6 on a different computer. I do not have the install disk as it was a download, but I have the serial number. Where do I go online to do this, and I assume I have to uninstall it on the first computer?

If you purchased the product as a download, I would recommend referring this link to locate your download link:

Downloading the trial version is an alternative as you can always convert it to a full version using your serial number.

All versions of Photoshop get their fonts from your OS. Just install any missing font wherever Windows keeps fonts.
I don't do windows myself.

CS6 Upgrade Obtained; Time Limit To Install? Moving To Different PC A Little Later?

I just wanted to ask a few questions about my CS6 "technology guarantee" upgrade for my Student copy of CS5.5 (which I bought in May of this year).
I registered my CS5.5 serial number, but have not installed it. I applied for the CS6 upgrade, and CS6 is showing as availible in my "My Orders" on my account. So if I may ask
1) Has my serial number been fully transferred to CS6? As in, I have the DVD for CS5.5 but now do I effectively own CS6 and can download it now and in the future accordingly? In other words, is CS6 fully mine as if I bought it directly?
2)Is there a time limit for me to download or activate CS6? (There was a time limit if August 5th given to me with my pruchase for the end of claims, but have I now claimed it even if not downlaoding and installing?)
3)I am planning on buying a new computer, but unsure as to when. It may turn out that I will install CS6 on my current PC and end up a few weeks later needing to move it to my new PC. Woudl this cause any problems, given the "upgrade" status and the fact I would have installed for the first time shortly before ? (If that makes sense).

Under my "Recent Orders" in my Adobe account, it says "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard - Upgrade, Windows, English, Download" "Quantity 1" and there is a different serial number (to CS 5.5) as you said. I have the "receipt" too, with "US $275.00" as the price and "US $0" as the "Grand Total".
1) So this therefore means my complimentary upgrade has been accepted, and basically I now own CS6 Standard as if I had bought the boxed version?
2) Also can I just check; I plan to backup the download once it's complete, but judt in case of some drive failure issue in the future, will I be able to redownload CS6 again? I guess I can just download the trial version and use my serial number to unlock it in this case?

Can I install CS6 on 2 internal hard drives (running different Mac OS's) as well as my laptop?

Hey- I am installing another hard drive in my Mac Pro (late 2012). I will be installing Yosemite on that drive while retaining Mountain Lion on the original drive. I have CS6 installed on the original drive as well as my MacBook Pro. Will Adobe allow me to install CS6 on the new internal hard drive? I won't be running them at the same time. This would be a great question for the 24/7 chat line but they are "closed" (??). Anybody know the answer?

You have 2 activations and that is that. You cannot add a third.

How can I install CS6 on a second computer?

I need to install CS6 Basic, not extended, on a new computer. I found several different suggestions. So here's what I've done:
1 I downloaded a trial so I could register it with my CS6 basic version S/N. The trial version it downloaded was Extended, which I don't own.
2 I installed it anyway. When I tried to use my Basic S/N, it wouldn't take it. Big surprise.
3 I uninstalled the Extended trial version.
4 I copied the two installation files in my Basic subdirectory on the old computer. Then I copied them to the new computer.
5 I did the installation with the serial number, and it loaded as Extended.
6 I've searched Adobe for a downloadable version of Basic I can install, but it's nowhere to be found. All references are to Extended.
7 My old computer is an XT. The new one is Win 7 64 bit. Is that why I can't find any reference to the Basic version for my Win 7 machine?

There is only one download for Mac and one for Windows. They are Extended in trial mode and the serial number which you enter will determine whether the extended features remain enabled (Extended mode) or not (Standard mode).

IIRC PS CS6 is not Cross platform. It takes a different license key code for each platform. A License key for Windows won't work on a Mac and a key for a Mac won't work on Windows. You'll need to buy another copy/License for Mac OS X.
At one time Adobe did allow you to switch platforms by paying them some money and getting a Mac license key code which I think then Deactivated the Windows license key.
IIRC the CC version does allow you to install on EITHER platform. But only one platform at a time. You can't have one copy on Windows and another on a Mac. Adobe does allow you to install on 2 computers with one license key but it must be on the same platform (Operating System) and both computers and or install of PS CC can't be used at the same time.

Installing CS6, Acrobat install fails

I am on Mac Mountain Lion, installing CS6. Everything goes fine except for Acrobat.

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat Installation and Update Issues forum. Have you been able to run other pkg installers successfully? Acrobat uses a different installer than the rest of the Creative Suite so being able to install the other applications would not be the same.

Vitaly have you tried disabling any start up items to see if those could be affecting your keyboard? Also have you tried using the onscreen keyboard if your Mac keyboard is not functional?

Can I uninstall a cloud program and install it on a different computer?

I installed Prelude on a work computer mainly because I had never heard of it and didn't know what it was, so I wanted to see... now that I know it is video related, I actually need to move it over to our work computer that is dedicated only to video work. I know that you can install the cloud programs on up to 2 computers, but I also do quite of bit of work for the office on my home computer, so I don't want to have my second copy of Prelude hanging around on a computer where I will never use it. I'd like one copy to be on the computer I use at home for work and one copy to be on the video computer at work.
Is it possible to uninstall it from one computer and install it on a different computer?

Remove Photoshop CS5 before installing CS6?

Mac OSX 10.7.4
For different reasons i would like to keep Photoshop CS5 AND install Photoshop CS6.
I heard someone say you have to remove CS5 first. Ouch. Just got it tweaked the way I want...
Or is it possible to install Photoshop CS6 and also keep Photoshop CS5 along with the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection?
(My problem is a really a write-error while trying to save for web in Photoshop CS5. I´ve tried all kinds of solutions from the Adobe forum and other places without luck. Last things I did was to make a new admin account and test it. That worked. Also I tried uninstalling Photoshop CS4 (where save for web acctually worked on my real user account). Still no luck. So now im left with the choice of reinstalling CS4 or installing CS6 to get the save for web dialog working again)

Am currently running CC. I also have CS6 ext on disc. Recently I tried installing it on a different pc than cc is on. All went well until it asked me to sign in. I gathered it wanted my adobe login but refused to take it. Can someone please advise on how to get it installed. TIA

It obvious you are not understanding the problem I have a purchased copy of CS6 Extended Which I had installed and was using up to the release of CC.
I would like to put CS6 Ext onto an older pc. When I try, it excepts the key but than asls for an email and password. My question is, "what email and what password," is it referring to. I tried using the on for my CC account but it won't except it.

Install CS6 Hungs at VM Environment

I tried to install CS6 in Hyper-V VMs(OS: Windows XP SP3) for students. It hung on different percentage every time I re-install it. Anyone run into this problem? Thank You.

No idea about your crashes. They seem too arbitrary to make sense of them...

Cannot install CS6 from MSI made with AAMEE

I need to install CS6 Design Standard on 12 Windows 8.1 workstations. I created an msi installer created with the Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition. It seemed very straightforward. However when I double-click the msi to install the product, it will start to install and then the progress bar goes back to the beginning and closes. I have tried recreating the installer, run it as Administrator, moved it to a local drive instead of a network share, and tried to run it on different workstations. A quick Google search indicated many people are having this issue but no solutions were posted. Can anyone help? Thanks
