Installing/deploying CS4 and dynamic Folder location

I've utilsed the admin tool to create the install and uninstall xml files for a CS$ deployment. I found that it static to be installed from a network location, could this be changed to have it pushed as a deployment of MDT or CA DISM?
I would like to push it as a package, silent install, supress prompts for registration, updates, ect.. within a dynamic location or package.
Right now, I've pulled info from online and got too the point where the back returns error code 7.. then fails.
I have another test package pointing to a network share and ot works fine. Any ideas?

Ok. Here is what I found. On windows, the factions file is
~ /AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Photoshop/8.0/Adobe Photoshop CS Settings/Actions Palette.psp.lnk
WTF? Anyway, I copied the file to ~/Desktop, fired up CS6 and extracted all of the contained actions set.
The command
find ~/AppData/ -name "*.psp*"
will work to find the settings file on Windows (in a unix shell like cygwin).
The command
find ~/Library/ -name "*.psp*"
Should work on OS X.

Cant uninstall Pr CS4 and encoder, on location entirely and would like to reinstall it

It all started when Encoder failed to launch properly. I finished editing a movie and hit export as i have done 100's of times in the past...
so I decided to uninstall Premiere Pro CS4 thinking that all the elements and what not would be removed along with it, boy was I wrong.
no I am stuck with out Pr cs4 and a broken Encoder, on location which i never use and a few other that i have yet to use.

I am afraid to start deleting programs manually because i know that when you install a program in need to be uninstalled due to registry and what not, but I have no idea how to handle that mess...

How many computers can I install Indesign CS4 and Illustrator CS4 on with an Asia Pacific Education version?

I've tried to have a look around among discussions, however, as it's CS4 and thus pretty outdated at this point, I'm having to start something new.
This is not for me, but a community organisation that I am volunteering for that has the copies and has asked me to see if they're allowed to install it on another computer within their small office.

I believe you can only install an educational version on one computer. But an educational version is for one student/teacher and cannot be sold/given away to others, so they may be far out already.
But you should ask someone from Adobe.

I have re-installed PS CS4 and Bridge onto my new Macbook Pro, but I cannot open or edit RAW files?

I just bought a new Macbook, and I tried transferring my Photoshop CS4 and Bridge to my new one via my external Hard Drive. It's worked in the past (I did it when transferring my desktop to my laptop), but this time, I am unable to open or edit RAW files. Bridge won't even allow me the option of "Camera Raw Settings" when going under "File".
I've tried searching for answers to my questions through these forums, and the closest I have gotten is that I need to download the updated Camera Raw plug-in, and I can't find it. Also, I need to download the update to the DNG or something like that, which I did, and that still doesn't work. I've extracted and refiled my RAWs to DNG's, and they will still not open in either Bridge, nor Photoshop. So, now I'm feeling helpless and I'm getting very frustrated at this point.
I shoot with a Canon 7d in RAW format. I've done this for years, and my computers have opened them with CS4 since I've had it.

"Moving", copying, transferring or migrating Adobe applications is to be avoided at all costs.
Always install from the original media, from scratch, then apply all updates available all over again. The Camera Raw plug-in, for example, is buried deep inside your root level Library.
Your best course of action is to uninstall CS4, download and run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and re-install CS4 as per the previous paragraph.

Multiple Libraries and Music Folder Locations

I'm stumped.
I keep three libraries on my MacBook Pro. The folder structure for where the library and xml files live is basically:
~\Music\iTunes\ATV
~\Music\iTunes\Pete
~\Music\iTunes\Jen
Each library is associated with its own Music Folder, on an external hard drive, like so:
External\Contents\Main
External\Contents\PJP
External\Contents\JLP
I have iTunes manage the music files, keep things organized, and copy songs into the Music Folder.
When I open the "Pete" library, for example (by holding down Option when I click on iTunes in the Dock), it opens fine. I do what I need to do there, and quit iTunes. Now, somewhat suddenly, when I open the "Jen" library next (again by holding down Option while launching iTunes to select that library file), the location of the Music Folder in Preferences->Advanced has been changed to the location of the last library's Music Folder. In other words, the library should be pointing to \Contents\JLP, but instead is pointing to \Contents\PJP.
I can change the location of the Music Folder (a fairly long process), but the next time I open up a different library, the Music Folder location is similarly incorrect.
I imagine I'm just tired and overlooking a fairly easy fix/cause of this behavior, but it escapes me and I'll be grateful for your help.

I have noticed this happen when the computer temporarily loses a link to the external drive it reverts to the locally stored music folder but reverts to the external drive when it is available again. Don't know if a similar issue is what is happening here if so it may be something to do with the refresh rate at which your computer communicates with the external drive.

Need to re-install DreamWeaver CS4 and Captivate 4

I have license keys for DreamWeaver CS4 and Captivate 4. I just had my laptop reimaged and need to reinstall this software--however, I can find downloads for only Version 5 of these products.
How can I reainstall the older versions?

Go to this guy's profile, where you will see his blog address. Go there and you'll find links to old versions. Very handy! Make sure you follow the instructions about logging into Adobe etc first to the letter or it won't work.

Photoshop CS and script folder location

Hello Community,
I had a look around but can't find my solution.
I recently upgraded my Apple OS from 10.6 to 10.9. I was using Photoshop CS for my small needs as my main RAW covnerter is Capture One and have upgraded to CS4.
I forgot to export the actions (scripts) that I had done.
I can't seem to locate them in the CS folder on the app folder and in the library.
Anyone has a solution ?

Trying to install Photoshop CS4 and it won't accept my CS4 licenses.

I had the HD crash on my pc and I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS4. I log into my Adobe account and retrieve the licenses key and when I input that into the Photoshop CS4 installer I downloaded right from Adobe it says the key is wrong. I have checked the licenses several times and it won't install where do I go from here?

I got it there was something weird with the installer I copied to my thumb drive I re-copied the download and it works fine now.

Multimapping and dynamic folder selection for files

Hi SDNers,
I have a requirement where I need to split the message in multiple messages, I am using 1:N Multimapping for this.
Also I need to use dynamic configuration to route the separated files to multiple folders based on place field in the message.
When I am using Dynamic configuration the splitted files are all getting created in one directory instead of multiple directories.
The requirement is that if place field has value india then the file having value as INDIA should be placed in folder INDIA, if place is UK then that file should be placed in folder UK
Can anyone please help me on how to achieve this?

As far as I know this is not possible, since bulk message will be delivered to Adapter Frame Work (AFW). AFW delegates each message from bulk message.
Try using Variable substitution, but I am not sure if it works.
May be you need a BPM to achieve this. But this will cause performance.

Runtime Shared Assets and dynamic folder structures

I am using a CMS to load dynamic pages. Most of these pages
have Flash content. The content SWFs all reference a SWF that holds
shared library assets. The CMS undergoes periodic overhauls and the
content gets shuffled. This results in broken links to my shared
assets.
Does anyone know how to set the shared library URL at
runtime? Is this even possible?

Perhap you code is executing before the shared library assets are loaded. You need to debug and find out if the shared library asset(s) is loaded ahead.

I had to re-install my CS4 and now it won't read camera raw. What can I do?

My photo shop works ok except it won't read raw files from my CANON EOS 50D. It did before I had to reload it.

Did you run al lthe necessary updates? Manually download and install the Camera Raw installer? verify these things. and I recomemnd you ask such specialised questions in the program forums. It's more likely you'll get the right answers there.

Is it possible to have Indesign CS4 and CS5.5 both installed on the same Mac? 10.6.8

We have a bunch of recent Intel macs at our corporation. Currently they should all have 10.6.8. They were all imaged from a base image that has Adobe CS4 embedded in it.
We are now using a packaging software part of the JAMF Casper suite and AAMIE to push CS5.5 to the end users.
The problem is that we want to keep CS4 on the end user's computers in case of issues. That way the end users can try Indesign 5.5 and see if it does everything they need to do and still have Indesign for backwards compatiblity.
So we created a CS5.5 install package using the AAMIE tool which works fine. We then use Casper to spam the package out to a Mac.
The issue that arises is that a few Plugin errors occur during the lauch of Indesign CS5.5 such as:
Adobe inDesign does not recognize InCopy Bridge UI.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyExport.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyExportUI.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyImport.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
There was one more plugin error that occured before the first one but I forgot to write it down.
If we click okay to them, the application launches okay but when you quit and relaunch it, you still get one of the errors.
Is this because both applications are installed at the same time?
Is it offically okay as per Adobe to have Indesign CS4 and CS5.5 installed on the same Macintosh?
What else should we be considering what to do?

Well currently, I'm just testing this issue. I just installed the trial version of Adobe CS4 suite on my mac and then deployed the CS5.5 package on top off it The resulting errors that I listed above are the same ones that occur when the end user has a licensed volume license install of CS4 and CS5.5.
So I'm still back to square 1 where when I deploy cs5.5 on an end user's mac, they get those plugin errors when they launch Indesign CS5.5.
I am not sure about the licensing restrictions, I asked my Director and he is going to check with our VAR.

Installing Adobe CS4

I tried to install Adobe CS4 and got an error "Installation Database is corrupt" what do I need to do to install this?

Install it with sufficient user privileges and external influences like virus scanners turned off. This error occurs when the database cannot be accessed properly.

when I restarted my PC, though it never asked me to do it.

Restore to a time before I installed Adobe CS4

How do I go back in time for my whole Macbook Pro using Time Machine? I installed Adobe CS4 and then when I uninstalled it left 8 GB of information all over my Macbook Pro! I did a backup just before I installed CS4 and now I want to go back to that time for my whole machine. I thought this would be easy. I thought it would be loke Gateways old GoBack program where you can pick a time and your computer just takes everything to that exact past state.

you should be able to boot the Mac with your Leopard disc then select your language then go to Utilities and choose restore from TC. I believe it will give you choices of dates.
