Installing Designer ES over Designer that came with CS3

I have an existing install of Designer that came with Acrobat 8 in CS3 (Design Premium).
After the install I got a popup saying "it is highly recommended to remove all previous versions of LiveCycle Designer from the system."
I can't find a way to remove it - there's no option under the uninstaller, that I can find, short of uninstalling Acrobat 8. And I don't know if that would do the trick or not.
A further message in the popup says "LiveCycle Designer 8.0 was installed with Acrobat Professional. Please modify the Acrobat Professional installation and deselect the LiveCycle Designer 8.0 feature from the Custom Setup dialog."
Can't find this either - unless it shows up during the Acrobat 8 uninstall process?

The driver files typically install inside a vendor-named folder inside /Library/Printers. Your profile mentions a HP LaserJet P1102W. So if this is the printer you are referring to, then the printer files will have copied to /Library/Printers/HP.

If you are having difficulties installing Bonjour from the Installation CD, you can download the latest version of Bonjour from here.

How do I install a 3 inch disk that came with a USB digital microscope? I put in in but nothing happens.

You cannot because those small discs may get stuck in the optical drive causing a major repair problem. If the software is needed for the Mac (it may not be) then contact the developer to see if they can send you the software on a standard sized disc.

  • Install Snow Leopard from CD that came with MacBook Pro to different Mac

I need to re-install Snow Leopard on an older MacBook of mine I want to clean out for my wife.
The problem is the Snow Leopard CD (family pack) I purchased months ago is scratched, damaged I believe by an iMac at my business. I want to see if it is possible to install 10.6 from the CD's I recently got with my new MacBook pro. I tried to use them in the MacBook (Intel) I'm trying to hand off to my wife but after I selected the language option I got an error message stating I couldn't install that disc on the computer. It already runs 10.6 so I know it's not an OS issue. Is my MacBook detecting that the installation CD is not the same one that came with it?
Sorry for the wordy post and thanks in advance for any help.

From what i can tell, the media contains only the necessary files to install to that model-specific hardware.
This is both for licensing & technical reasons. Licensing because that disc is licensed for use only with that specific Mac (not model, literally just that Mac) & technical because pre- & post-install scripts & other installer features on grey system discs are designed just for that model.
Curious. I know i've used system restore discs from one machine on another due to the fact that we used to - for reasons unknown to me - allow users to keep their restore discs, at which point they subsequently lost them.
Perhaps it's just older models that allowed it?
No matter. Thanks for the clarification.

  • Is there any way to install mavericks on a macpro that came with Yosemite?

  • Can I install Mavericks on a Mac that came with Yosemite pre installed?

I just bought a brand new Mac with the following specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)
    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
It came with OS X Yosemite installed. Though I love all the new features, this new OS doesn't support some important Apps I need to install. Could I say, install Mavericks on a partition of my HDD? I've looked on several forums and haven't found any good answers. Some folks say it's tricky. Others say it can't be done. Could anyone help?
    -Chris

    It cannot be done.

  • Problem with software that came with Pima Mx 472 printer

I installed my image garden software that came with printer.  No problems till tonight when I opened software to scan some photos.  Before I could scan the first photo, the program crashes.  I reopened and scan 1 photo.  Program crashed.  I reopened 3rd time, scanned to more photos.  While renaming the first photo, program crashed.
Verison is 2.1  My computer is win7 64 bit.  Anyone else having same problem.

My assumption is that since you're not on the Verizon network currently and you don't have access to the network, you can't OTA the update.
And since you don't have the USB data cable, you won't be able to connect your phone to your computer to update.  My best suggestion... Get a data cable. There should be someplace nearby you in Germany where you can get an inexpensive data cable.
Then go about backing up your phone with the desktop manager and then update via the DM as well.
No, you can't be on TV.
    Yes, this camera is heavy..
    Go bother the reporter...I'm busy!!

Apple discontinued iWeb. That's the case for over a year now.
Topics in this forum will tell you that in order to install iWeb you have to find a copy at eBay, Amazon and similar places.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

  • How to format and install a fresh copy of Mac OS 10.6.4, with another MacBook CD, because i lost the one that came with mine, thanks.

Dear user, can i format and install a fresh copy of Mac OS 10.6.4, with another MacBook CD, because i lost the one that came with mine, thanks.

As you need to be on 10.6 to be able access the App Store to download Lion, either get replacement discs via Applecare (you'll need the MBP's serial number to get the right ones) or get the SL retail disc. I would recommend the Original disc replacement set (assuming they were 10.6) as they carry not onlyApple Hardware Test for your model, but the iLife apps other bundled sftware that isn't on the retail disc.
Once you've installed, and used Software Update to get to 10.6.8, you can then get Lion if you're feeling masochistic.

  • I have a mac pro 2007 model. It appears I have a corrupted sector on my the hadrive tha has my operating system. If I use the install disk that came with is (Tiger) can I still get my lion back.

I have mac pro 2007 model given to me, I updated it to lion about six months ago, and I do not have a time machine.
Lion stopped loading before I get to the login screen,
I tried all the tips, doing a option/shift/v. I noticed several fsk_dsk errors that it could not fix on my boot drive.
Restore would not work either. The only physical copy I have is the install disk that came with the mac. I think it is Tiger.
If I put this operating system on will I be abel to upgrade it to lion, and if so will I have to pay again?

The Lion Recovery Partition has its own index. Your Macintosh HD partition is the one with the troubles.
If Disk Utility cannot fix it, you may need to apply different Utilities, such as Disk Warrior.
Some readers suggest that the best disk repair is to erase the drive and restore it from your Backups.
This might be a good time to consider getting a new drive to have on hand. This would allow you flexibility in copying, fixing, and (if needed) replacing the drive with the problems.

  • I want to install a new hard drive on my 2008 MacBook but do not have the instillation discs that came with my computer.  Can I use instillation discs from a 2009 or 2010 MacBook?

I want to install a new hard drive on my 2008 MacBook but do not have the instillation discs that came with my computer.  Can I use instillation discs from a 2009 or 2010 MacBook?  The hard drive I am planning to install is a WD Scorpio Black 500GB SATA 2.5'' internal hard drive.

Sometimes they do work - i've done it before.  I have a late 2008 Macbook Uni and used the install dvd of my 2009 Macbook White and it worked.
Why not just clone your hard drive?  It'll save you a lot of time doing a clone rather than doing a clean install.
Unless you're having issues with your old set up or  your old hard drive is dead.
You can download Carbon Copy Cloner - install your new hard drive in a external usb enclosure (around $10) and clone fromt here then test it before you install it in your Macbook.
Once you've done the swap, you can install your old hard drive in the USB enclosure and use it as a backup drive.
    Good luck
