Installing Deskjet F2180 Driver on Windows 7

I started to install the Deskjet F2180 Driver on a new PC + Windows 7. The driver was downloaded from the Internet. I got the first installation window in Hebrew langauge, which was fine since this is the languge I wanted, but the second window had unrecognized symbols (not in any language, just giberish). I tried it again and again with different "Regional and Language options", even with English only, without any success. I don't care having the driver installed in English, but somehow the driver finds out that I know Hebrew, and tries to install the Hebrew version (with the above problem). I tried to continue the installation, but the result was that the "HP Solution Center" was displayed with question marks  instead of letters.Note: I installed the Hebrew language on the Windows 7 before I started the installation process. Is there anyone that can help me?

Installed new hard drive and windows 7 at the same time. Left old hard drives in computer, installed firefox however I have no idea in which file the old bookmarks are located. I still have the old files for firefox in the old drives.

Your "Firefox personal data", like bookmarks, are stored in your Profile folder in Firefox. See this support article about how to recover that data from that old hard drive and transfer it your your new Profile.

    All,
A very interesting NOTE to this thread. In order to try and get the "ignore permissions" box to show up in GET INFO (so I could execute Matt the Magician's solution to file sharing issues)-- I ran the terminal command for disabling ACLs on my internal HD / start up disk (as indicated in the linked thread to BDAqua's forum).
Although I understand that this was useless for disabling permissions on the start up disk (as everyone here pointed out) and allowing me to see the "ignore permissions" check box - somehow it did seem to fix my file sharing problem...and that was the root problem I wanted solved in the first place! After doing the terminal command and a quick reboot, I went in and tested file sharing on the chosen directory and I can create new files or work from existing files in the directory, with both users being able to modify / and save from both machines and each machine sees the revisions and can build from them. Bottom line - I'm stoked and want to thank everyone for their help.
The only other tweak I made was going over to my wife's machine and instead of using her log in / password, I just used my name and password to connect to my main machine that was sharing directories. Maybe that's what fixed the problem or the ACL disable but either way...I'm up and running the way I want to be.
Hope this thread helps anyone else who has these file sharing / permissions issues with Leopard. Especially for anyone wanting to do such a simple file sharing set up between 2 computers. I wish I understood exactly which tweak fixed the problem, but at least it works the way I want now.
So happy to be done w/this one!
Thx everyone. Any additional input on what solved it is welcome, so my curiosity is quelled...

  • HP Deskjet 1280 Driver for windows 8.1 Pro

    Hi Team,
I have upgraded my compter operating system from windows 7 professional to windows 8.1 pro now, I unable to install  HP deskjet 1280 printer to new operating system.
Can you please send me a link to download the driver.
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi @Umesh_kanth ,
I understand that you need the driver for Windows 8.1. I would be happy to help you.
I checked the website and unfortunately there isn't any drivers to be able to download for Windows 8.1 for the HP Deskjet 1280 Printer. But you should be able to install the printer with a Windows generic driver. Plug the printer into the computer to see if Windows will automatically install a OS. driver.
You might have to add the driver manually, here are the steps:
Go to the start up screen. (tiles menu)
Type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers.
Click on Add Printer and follow the steps.
Select the HP Deskjet PCL3 Class Driver from the list.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • DESKJET 722C DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 7

I RECENTLY UPGRADED TO AN HP PAVILION. MY PRINTER IS AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE 722C. I BOUGHT AN ADAPTER CABLE TO CONVERT THE 25 PIN CONNECTOR ON THE PRINTER CABLE TO A USB CONNECTOR. I TRIED HP'S WEB SITE TO GET A DRIVER AND HP SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE A DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 7. DOES ANYONE  HAVE A SUGGESTION ON HOW TO PROCEED FROM HERE BESIDES DEEP SIXING MY 722 AND BUYING A NEW PRINTER ?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Sorry, but the above will not work.  The Deskjet 722 is a host based printer and is not compatible with the Deskjet 6980 driver.
You can install the driver as follows:  connect the printer with the USB-parallel converter.  Click on Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer and select the proper port. When the list of printers appears click on Windows Update and wait a few minutes for the list to repopulate*.  Once the list repopulates select HP as the manufacturer (not Hewlett-Packard) and select the Deskjet 720c driver, Next.
Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7?  If you have a 64 bit Windows 7 you will need a patch as the supplied driver crashes the spooler.  After installing the printer (but before printing anything, including a test page) install the patch available here.
    * Edit - If you get an error "Windows was unable to get a list..." when you click on the Windows Update button then see the workaround here.

  • Satellite P750: Unable to install Bluetooth Stack driver on Windows 7 (x64)

    Hello.
    I own a *Satellite P750-02T* (Part no. *PSAY3A-02T001*).
In the order what I did:
    1) I formatted its HDD and reinstalled OS to *Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1*.
Then I downloaded *ONLY BIOS and the drivers* from [its Downloads page|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25] :
    2) I updated its BIOS to *v1.90* (the laptop came with v1.80)
    3) I installed all the drivers:
    - both LAN and WiFi
    - Intel Chipset (latest available)
    - all video drivers (Intel HD Graphics, NVIDIA Graphics, and Intel HDMI)
    - Card Reader
    - Realtek HD Audio (latest)
    - Synaptics Touchpad
    - USB3.0
    - IR
    - TV-Tuner
However, I'm *unable to install the Bluetooth driver (v8.00.06(T)* )...
When I run setup from the [above-mentioned page|http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/p750/psay3a-02t001/download?os=25] it partially detects *'Bluetooth USB Controller-10 from TOSHIBA'* (USB\VID_0930&PID_0215&REV_001)
and then installation simply freezes displaying +'Installing the Bluetooth Driver. Please wait+.' and stays like that forever...
I also tried downloading a driver from [another location|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download-toshiba] for TOSHIBA notebooks - v8.00.02(T):
and followed installation instructions displayed under 'Details'
but there was the same outcome - the setup simply freezes...
Installing Hotfix (*KB978258*) recommended there didn't work either - the message '+The update is not applicable to your computer+' pops up.
And I understand why - this Hotfix is [already included|http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/B/A/EBA55FE2-373A-4351-9346-6D762B79AA69/Updates%20in%20Win7%20and%20WS08R2%20SP1.xls] into Service Pack 1 for MS Windows 7.
I spent hours searching on the Internet for a solution. Although there were some similar cases none of the recommendations actually worked. I tried installing:
    - WiFi driver before installing Bluetooth (someone suggested that those two are the parts of the same card);
    - resuming installation in Safe Mode;
    - *Toshiba Value Added Package* hoping those tools somehow will kick in.
    Nothing worked...
It's interesting that when for the sake of experiment I tried to run installation for my generic Bluetooth adapter (using the driver [for non-TOSHIBA notebooks|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download]) then everything run smoothly!
*Using Bluetooth connection on this laptop is very crucial for me.*
I hope I shall not have to return this wonderful notebook as I know TOSHIBA is one of the best manufactures and am sure there is a solution to this problem.
    Thank you very much.
    Evgeny.

For FN functionality you must install Toshba Value added package. Toshiba flash cards utility is part of this package.

Hello I am an employee at HP and I just replied to another person on the same type of problem.  I don't know if you already did this but I had the same problem on a different printer and it worked for me.  You have to have the printer turned on and hooked up to your PC and then do a Windows Update.  With Win7 update the process will see that you have the printer and need a driver and should give you the option to download it.  You can then select it and download it and it should work.  Here is also the text from the HP website.  I hope this works for you.
NOTE:When you connect the USB cable to the printer, and then to the computer, Windows 7 activates Windows Update. Windows Update searches online for the most recent product driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more recent than the driver stored in Windows 7, the computer downloads and installs the updated driver. The Windows Update process takes place automatically. Therefore, you might not notice that the process is in progress.

  • Need help installing my graphics driver in windows vista via boot camp

New to mac so first time on forum as well.
Love the Mac but i also want to get on some old games. C&C The First Decade mainly.
    I am currently using below.
Mac mini Mid 2011 processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core it
    Memory 4 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
Installing windows vista home premium 32 bit
I have installed windows vista home premium using boot camp assistant and downloaded the windows drivers as well. After i have installed windows i installed boot camp using my Mac OS X snow leopard which installed boot camp 3 or 3.1 i believe and i eventually got apple updates for 3.2 which is what i am now runnning on vista. I had trouble getting my sound to play through my speakers at first but eventually got them working and now it is my graphics driver that i cannot seem to get working. In vista(I also downloaded service pack 1 and 2) when i go to control panel and check out my device control it shows a yellow exclamation point next to the adapter. I guess i need help in getting my graphics installed correctly on my windows. Is there something i should take off to install the correct driver? Or do i just need the correct driver download? If i have the correct driver how do i upload it onto my windows side in the device control.
When i try to run c&c generals/zero hour i get a directx 8.1 error, red alert 2 is black but i can hear. i know these games can work i installed the graphics correctly the first time when i did not have sound as this is my second time installing windows so the game did load when i did not have sound.
    Advise?
I was thinking about saying forget this i can't waste hours of my time anymore but i have to be close to getting everything working if i had graphics before and no sound but sound this time and no graphics. I was also thinking about just buying windows 7 home premium sp1 64bit system builder dvd off amazon and reinstalling windows using windows 7 but i want to make sure i can play these games before i spend the money. I thought my mini couldn't support windows vista and if it did only boot camp 4? how am i getting this far to get things to work?
What is the driver i need to install to get these games working? What do I need to do or what am I missing???
Do i need to install a different boot camp off apple and find a driver that will get mine to work in vista?
Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated i have been at this everyday for hours.

Also is there something, say maybe a driver, that was installed i do not need that is blocking me from installing the correct drivers? What driver in my boot camp folder do i need to install to get to the correct display to run those games.

  • OS hangs while installing Broadcom WLAN Driver in Windows XP in CQ40-616TU

    1) When i tend to install the Broadcom WLAN Driver in Windows XP, The system Hangs and never recovers back even after a whole night.

    3) After the WLAN driver is being installed in Safe mode, after disabling the Broadcom WLAN device in the Device manager, if i restart the PC, in normal mode, the OS did not hanged. In this situation, when i tend to enable the WLAN in device manager, the OS hangs.
    4) In Device Manager, i could able to see that the device is located at PCI bus 2, device 0, function 0.
Please do the needful as soon as possible.
    Thanks,

I should add that without the update the Broadcom wireless adapter works fine with standard WPA or WPA-PSK but just did not have the WPA2 and WPA2-PSK options, which is how I had my router set up. There are 4 of us living here that share the router and did not want to have to reconfigure for WPA because of this issue.

  • Cannot Install NI-VISA Driver in Windows 7

    Hi all,
Software is not exactly my strength, so I apologize if this question is poorly worded or trivial.
I am trying to use NI-VISA 4.6 to create a driver for a USB mouse.  My eventual goal is to read off the raw positional data from the USB rather than read the mouse's position on the screen.  This way I will be able to use the mouse to track distance traveled without having to worry about the cursor going off the edge of the screen.  My VI will be working roughly along the lines of this one, which was so kindly offered by Intaris on this thread.
I am running into problems installing the driver I created with NI-VISA mostly following directions from here.  I created the .inf driver and copied it to C:\Windows\inf.  Since I am using Windows 7, I copied the Vista driver rather than the driver for earlier versions of windows (another user on the tutorial I linked to above said this worked).  I selected my .inf file and clicked "install" from the right mouse button drop-down menu.  I received an error message the first time I tried saying that the driver was not verified and proceeded anyway.  No .pnf file was created in the inf folder (as I believe that it should have).  I tried updating the driver for this particular mouse to the new driver I created in the device manager.  Windows resisted, saying that it already had installed the best driver for the job.
So now I am not exactly sure what to do.  I believe that other people have figured out how to get this to work, but I am clueless as to what I can do differently.  Does anyone out there know what might be wrong?  Does there need to be a .pnf file in order to get the driver to work?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for everyone's help.  I think I finally found the solution .
I did a lot of fumbling with Windows and eventually I got a driver I created in NI VISA to be accepted.  Since the whole thing was hacked together, I am having trouble determining the steps that got it to work.  I am not sure that this list of steps is either entirely necessary or complete, but in the interest of helping out people with a similar problem, I will try to explain what I did to get the mouse to be read.
The key was probably uninstalling the mouse that I wanted to use for the project.  I did this in the device manager, and then found the USB root hub that was running my device.  I updated the driver through here rather than through the "Mouse" section.  The information on how to do this is explained in more detail in these two KnowledgeBase articles:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/28C5E7D2E9FBB4CC86257536005A3692
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3C335141B64C038886257141000036F2?OpenDocument
I created the NI-VISA drivers and saved them in the default folder (under MyDocuments/National Instruments/NI-VISA) and installed them from there.  I am not sure if the installation step was necessary.  Then I updated the drivers as explained in the second linked KnowledgeBase article listed.
I think that the crucial step was uninstalling the mouse in the Device Manager.  This might be the "firmware" mentioned in the KnowledgeBase article linked below, but the wording is so ambiguous that I thought I would have to uninstall the drivers.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/273BB58D3B52CE6886256F3B00714D03
    Thanks again for the help
