Installing developer edition

I have a PC using Vista Home edition and I have Dreamweaver 8
installed.
I downloaded the developer edition and installed it as a
standalone. At the end of the installation process when I see the
message "Step 1 completed successfully" (or similiar to that), I
click on the "done" button to log in to the administrator and I get
an error message saying it can't find
http://127.0.1:8500/CFIDE/admnistrator/index.cfm.
I tried the url
http://localhost/ and that didn't
work.
Edited original message:
I got to thinking that maybe it was the Vista firewall
causing the problem so I added port 8500 and configured it to allow
127.0.0.1:8500. I uninstalled and then re-installed. It didn't
help. I ran into the same problem.
However, the CF administrator did load in the browser. I
entered my password and it took a long time, but the server did
configure. I don't know if adding the port helped because I tried
entering my password before and it took such a long time, I thought
it was stuck on the configuration. Maybe I never had a problem to
begin with.

Did you try:
http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
Other than that I would suggest contacting Adobe Support. I
am not 100%
sure, but I think they provide free technical support for
installation
issues.

  • How to install Developer Edition in Ubuntu 14

I'm interested in trying the Firefox Developer Edition. So I downloaded it from your site.
Now what? There's no installer, no instructions, not even a ReadMe file!
Of course I already have the default version of Firefox as part of the Ubuntu installation. Is it possible to keep both? Is there any reason to? (If not I'd appreciate instructions on how to uninstall the non-developer version).
Not everyone just automatically knows this stuff, you know.

    Hello,
If you downloaded a .tar.gz, Firefox will already be precompiled and you just need to run the executable after decompressing.

  • Different versions of SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition

Some of our business processes still use SQL Server 2005 and I need to install Developer Edition on my desktop.
I have following downloads available in my MSDN subscription (other than Itanium):
SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition - DVD (English) - 1 DVD ISO
    SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition - 64-bit Extended - 2x CD ISO
    SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition - 32-bit - 2x CD ISO
The desktop is running 64-bit OS, so I definitely want to install 64-bit version. However, I am not sure what this "Extended" version available on CD-s is. Is this the only 64-bit version  in existence? Or are there 2 different 64-bit versions
    - "Extended" and "Non-Extended" (with non-extended possibly available on DVD - I haven't downloaded any images yet)?

SQL server 2005 is outdated so sorry if my answer is not to the point . First DVD version seems to me like installable which has both database engine and client tools present in it for installation
For second, SQL server 2005 installable was available in 2 CD's 1st CD was to install database engine/SSIS/SSAS/ SSRS features while second CD was to install specifically clint tools, books online legacy support . Its not possible to comment further without
looking at contents but I guess you can use 2nd one. CD 1 would have one part of installable and CD 2 would have second
And of course 3rd one is 32 bit of 2nd one.

  • SQL Server - Developer Edition - Downgrade to standard edition

    Hi,
So the developer edition is a great way to setup a dev and test environment for pretty much nothing. But it is fully featured as an Enterprise Edition.
Now, we are using Standard Edition on our production servers.
Is it possible to install Developer Edition with only the standard edition features ?
Or to buy the developer licences and install standard edition for the test environment ?
The risk being that our devs use enterprise editions in the dev environment that would not work in production and thus add dev cycles.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Probably you can block the use of some enterprise features using Policy Based Management.

  • Installing SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition or wait for SP2?

    Hi everyone,
I just received my copy of SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition I ordered.  As usual, before installing, I searched the web for any hint or other stuff on the subject.
I first found that SP1 was already available.  Honestly I prefer installing using the last version available instead of upgrading.  I found the SP1 install package using the following web address:
    http://www.microsoft.com/fr-ca/download/details.aspx?id=35575
Is this the right install package to use?
Now, still reading everything I could find on that SP1, I found stories about major issues with SP1.
    Two examples I remember:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/770630
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793634/en-us?wa=wsignin1.0
Two others (not specifically related to SP1):
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/thread/a0da3372-ab3d-4af0-b4c4-0d47163e0e03/
    http://www.sqlperformance.com/2012/11/system-configuration/2012-cal-problems
My question.  Should I wait for SP2?  If so, any target date when it should be available?
If not, what would you recommend as the logic install sequence?  Should I look for any cumulative update(s)?  Any other "manual settings" I should consider?
Finally, can someone guide me regarding what options I should choose while installing.  My main goal is to program/build C++, C# applications using VS2010 that will interface with SQL Server for data storage purposes (add/update/delete,
    batch update/delete) and reports.
    Hope to hear from someone.

BTW:  My current setup is the following:
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU  [email protected]
    3.00 Go
    Vista Ultimate SP2 32bits
Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition (which will be upgraded to last SP once installed)

    Hi again,
I proceeded with download of CU7.  On Microsoft's webpage, there are several files we can download:
    2012_SP1_DAC_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    2012_SP1_AOrcleDes_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    2012_SP1_AOrcleSer_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    2012_SP1_PPExcel_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
    SQLServer2012_SP1_CU7_2894115_11_0_3393_x86
      Which one I should choose?
Also, some people reported having problems installing this update.

  • Cant figure out how to install the Developer edition

Hey everybody, I'm totally new to ColdFusion technology. I
work in the advertising world working on print related material.
Feeling a desire to learn more, I decided to teach myself Flash.
So, I picked up the Flash Bible and began reading. After I finished
the section on creating forms in Flash, I thought it would be a
good idea to learn ColdFusion so I could learn how to write server
side scripts and test them on my local machine with my Flash forms
before deploying them to a remote server. In any case, I downloaded
the free Developer edition of ColdFusion MX 7. Something is going
wrong, and I have no idea why? After I finished completing each
section of the installation process, the program does not seem to
install into my hard drive. I have the path for the program to be
installed in my applications folder on my hard drive. I'm also
    running on MAC OS 10.4.8.
Here is some info on my computer:
    Hardware Overview:
    Machine Name: Power Mac G5
    Machine Model: PowerMac7,2
    CPU Type: PowerPC 970 (2.2)
    Number Of CPUs: 2
    CPU Speed: 2 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 3 GB
    Bus Speed: 1 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.1.5f0
And this I copied from the Adobe site for ColdFusion MX 7
    system requirements:
    Macintosh
ColdFusion Product Editions Enterprise, Standard, Developer
    Processor PowerPC
Operating System Apple Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.2 and 10.4.3
    Memory 512 MB RAM
    Hard Disk Space 500 MB

I decide that it may be helpful to include this info that I
    copied and
    pasted from the installation windows.
    The Installation Confirmation window:

  • Do I need to install crystal reports developer edition?

    Hi,
I tried to open a CR 8.5 reports in vs 2005 and it opened up fine. But when I try to preview the report it comes up with the error
    Failed to load Database information
Details:The Database DLL 'crdb_fielddef.dll' could not be found.
We have used Active Data drivers and Field definitions using ttx files in 8.5. We used the 8.5 developer edition. Will I be able to use the crystal reports for .net with vs 2005 without installing the new version of crystal reports or Do I need to install the developer edition to overcome this? I used the 10.2 version with the VS2005.
    Thanks,
    SS

VS 2005 does not ship with crdb_fielddef.dll, which is the lib used with ttx reports.  You won't be able to preview off of a ttx file, or create a new Crystal Report off of a ttx file, using CR.NET shipped with VS 2005.
If you require those functionalities, CR XI Release 2 would be an possible option.

  • Installing SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition

    Hi,
Can we use SQL Server 2012 Developer edition with SharePoint 2013?  One thing that came to my mind was setting max degree of parallelism, is that supported in Developer edition?  Looking forward to your assistance here.
    Thanks,
    kashif

    I'm slightly incorrect. See http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/4/A/64A1EC8F-F575-41E1-9D34-821FA9F98F8E/SQL_Server_2012_Licensing_Reference_Guide.pdf.
Licensing SQL Server for Non-production Use
The SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition is a full-function version of the SQL Server software—with all the
features and capabilities of the Enterprise edition—licensed under the Developer Tools model, which is a “per
user” model. One license is required for each person that accesses or uses the software.
When using SQL Server software for development, test or demonstration purposes, only the users are licensed
and there is no need for a corresponding license for the actual server systems running SQL Server software in
    this case.
As long as only licensed users have access to the software, customers can install as many copies of the software
on any number of servers that are used exclusively for development, test or demonstration purposes. This
is significant, because it allows customers to run the software on multiple devices (for testing purposes, for
example) without having to license each non-production server system.
But no, as you can see above, you'll have no issues with the software (Developer Edition is Enterprise Edition with licensing restrictions, but no functionality restrictions).

  • Should I Install ColdFusion MX7 Developer Edition

Hi, I insalled Dreamweaver 8 and noticed that it had an
additional software of Cold Fusion MX7 Developmer Edition. I have
asked my IT person about installing this on my personal computer
and he said there shouldn't be a problem. My main reason for
installing it is that it appears to have the ability to created
PDFs. My questions is, is this Developer Edition the same as the
Standard Cold Fusion, and would it benefit me to install it?
I am computer knowledgeable, but not about something such as
    this.
    Thank you.

    > Fusion, and would it benefit me to install it?
Yes, Developer Edition is the same as a production licensed
    version of
ColdFusion with some throughput throttles. I.E. The developer
    Edition
can only be accessed by a localhost (127.0.0.1) IP address
    from the
computer it is installed on and two other remote IP
    addresses. Any
other IP that tries to access a CFML template on this
    computer will get
an access denied error. There are some other throttles on
    some of the
    other advanced features.
Would it benefit you to install it? Yes, but maybe not as
    completely as
you hope. It will let you create PDF's with ColdFusion's many
    PDF
features allowing you to develop applications with this
    functionality.
Every PDF it creates will have a giant "For Development
    Purposes Only"
(Or language to that effect) watermark embedded across the
    entire PDF.
