Installing Digital Solutions Software to secondary HD

I have a small GB SSD setup for my OS and very few essential programs. I have a 2TB HDD partitioned for all other apps, programs and files. I am trying to install the software which came boxed with my AS4000 is. It never provides the option to choose the install location. I have tried custom & express installs, both come back with "There is insufficient available space on the disk." The"next" arrow is greyed out, therefore I can never get past step 1.
Is there no option for choosing the installation location? If so, this software is not up to current needs of many who run multiple SSD's or HDD's. If there is, the software needs updated to make this the first step in the process. Please advise if I have any option for installing this software.
Thank you, Ryan

Hi 02darkRS,
The software for your PowerShot A4000 IS can only be installed on the root (or primary) drive for your computer.

  • Problems installing digital solution disk

Just bought a canon powershot sx500.  I'm trying to install the digital camera solution disk and it won't download.  Has anyone else had this issue?

I was sorry to see that you are having difficulty installing the Solutions Disk provided with your PowerShot SX500 IS camera.  We are not aware that this is an issue encountered frequently, but I do apologize you are experiencing difficulty.
I would like to go through a step by step procedure that will guide you along the installation of this disk and get that software up and running.
    1. Quit any software that is running.
    2. Place the [DIGITAL CAMERA Solution Disk] CD-ROM supplied with your camera into the computer.
    3. Click [Run SETUP.EXE] when the Auto Play window appears.
On a Macintosh computer, after inserting the disc, double-click the desktop disc icon to open it, and then double-click the mounted disk.
    4. Select the area in which you live.
    5. Select the country where you live, and then click [Next].
    6. Select Your language.
    7. The Easy or Custom Installation Screen will appear.
Click {Easy Installation] to automatically install all the software applications.
Click[Custom Installation] to select the software applications that you want to install.
    8. The selection confirmation screen will appear. Click [OK].
The selected software applications will be installed. (Deselect the checkbox of the software applications that you do not wish to install.
After confirming that you have selected all the software applications for installation, click  [Next] and then proceed with the installation.
    9. The Confirmation screen will appear. Click [Install].
    10. The License Agreement screen will appear. Click [Yes] after reading the content carefully.
    11. The Disclaimer screen will appear. Click [Yes] after reading the content carefully.
    12. When a message is displayed prompting you to connect the camera, connect it to a computer.
To do the installation without connecting the camera, select the [Install without connecting the device] check box and then click [Next]. When the Install without Connecting the Device screen appears, click [OK] and proceed to step 10.
    12-2. Turn the camera on.
    12-3. Click [Next].
    13. If the Change Allowance window appears, click [Yes].
    14. The installation starts.
    15. Click [Finish], when everything is installed and remove the Solution Disk from the CD-ROM drive to conclude the installation.
If there is no need to restart the computer, the [Restart] screen will display. Click [Restart] to restart the computer and complete the installation.
I hope this helps get the disk installed.  Please let us know if you have additional concerns.

  • Trouble installing Digital Photo Professional and other Canon software

    Hello everyone,
I have been trying to install several software programs on a new iMac without any success. My machine is the 20" Intel Core 2 Duo running OS X 10.4.8. I am attempting to install Canon's Digital Photo Professional version 1.0 and the EOS Digital Solutions version 7.0 (original equipment with my 1D mkII - will upgrade after installation). During the installation of DPP the process will stop while "configuring installation". I then receive a message that "There were errors installing the software. Please try installing again."
When operating the Canon EOS Digital Installer on the Solutions disk I receive the message "Not authorized to write to this folder".
As I am attempting to install this software under the administrative account, the error message for the Solutions disk puzzles me.
Does anyone have any ideas about what the problem is or where to begin troubleshooting?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Kevin

You may need to download the latest version (2.2.2).
It runs fine on my iMac C2D. Version 2.2.2 is also Universal Binary.
The only hitch you may have is the upgrade checks for an installed version. I'm not sure if it will accept the CD as an upgrade.
Where did I download it from? That I'm not certain of! I did a long search on Google & finally ran across a Japanese Canon site that had it.
If you can't install to upgrade, try installing it on a PPC Mac, install the update, then drag & drop the installed file to your new Mac.

  • Installing EOS Digital Solution Disk Ver 25.2

Trying to install EOS digital solution Ver 25.2 to PC. At very start, options are "ASIA" or "OCEANIA". But I am Europe? Should I put in Asia and continue? Or have I been supplied with a wrong Disk?

When I try to open the EOS digital solution disk ver 24.1 for my new Canon Rebel T3i camera on my Mac 10.5.8 a notice "this software is not supported by the CPU you are using" comes up
You need to contact Canon - or read the software specs - it sounds like the software you got form them is not supported by your computer
    Do I need this software?
Probably not - exactly what about it do you want?
Can I just download the pictures to my Mac without using the Canon software?
Probably - if you are shooting JPEG - launch iPhoto and in the iPhoto preferences set action when a camera is connected to launch iPhoto and connect your camera - iPhoto should launch and you should be able to import
Some cameras need to be set to mass storage mode - read your camera manual for details and procedures
If you are using RAW then your camera needs to be on this list and you need the versions of software noted - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4757 - for older OS versions you can use google to find the list of supported cameras

Solution disk 24.1 is pretty old; you should install the latest updaters from the Canon site before trying again.
That said, the problem may not be in the Canon software at all, but in the driver for your monitor. If the driver is sufficiently primitive, the Canon software may not be able to tell what resolution your monitor is capable of. Try to find and install the manufacturer's latest driver.

NOTE: A separate installation of the Adobe Digital Editions software is not necessary if the latest version of the Sony® Reader for PC/Mac software is installed. Once installed, you will need to authorize your device with a Adobe Digital ID.
On the Adobe Digital Editions software Web site, click the Install button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  • Pavilion dv8t 1200 - simple pass/digital persona software won't install

    Howdy,
Windows 7 Home Premimum 64 bit
    Intel Core i7 Q720 @1.60GHz
    Pavilion dv8t - 1200 Notebook PC
The reader worked fine for the first few months/year, however it then only started working for signing in & occasionaly for sites & gTalk. I was cool with that...annoyed, but cool. Oh, it also didn't work to sign in if I had to sign in again after the screen saver came up or if the machine went into hybernate.
Today I decided to see if there was an update or if I could get it working for something other than signing in. After installing what was most likely the wrong package, I uninstalled it through the Program  Manager.
I then shut down the machine, ran CCleaner (there were digital persona errors removed...about 8) & went to install sp50048 which I believe is the correct one for my machine.
During the install it tells me the folder/files already exist, (even though I uninstalled it) & ithey do, then at the instal phase "Registering Modules" I receive the following error:
    Error 1722
    InstallDPPassFilter_x64.4D0EAAF1_2D33_4FFF_AA08_6...
And then in rolls it back.
I turned off the biometric devices in the control panel, ran CCleaner again, shut the machine down completely, tried installing again & had the same issue.
I turned the biometrics on in the control panel & recieve this message:
"Biometric devices are turned on, however I'm told “Windows did not find any biometric devices on this computer. You might need to attach your device or install device drivers.”
I have tried a few methods from 'solved' under both simple pass & digital persona
Thank you all for reading & attempting to help.

    Howdy,
Thank you for your advice, however it did not work out.
    Addressing each point in succession:
I can not get Digital Persona to install, therefore I can not interact with it hence none of the steps in the Setup and Use HP SimplePass Fingerprint Reader were available to moi.
Troubleshoot a Fingerprint Reader did not solve the issue, however I did go through the steps there so I shall describe my results in an effort to see if it helps home in on the problem.
All files used to update were pulled from the hp.com site using my Product Number.
Update the BIOS - BIOS was up to date
Enable Biometric Support (in BIOS) - Following the instructions it appears mine is always in the state: Enable
Check for Windows Support - Validity Sensor appears under Biometric Devices in the Device Manager
Update the Device Driver - (Had deleted the driver previously, so installed & updated) - Updated/Installed
Update the Access Manager - Attempted to install Digital Persona 5.1.0.175 A, but again during the install it gave me the same error (as my original post describes) & did not install.
As a final note, Windows does not see the reader in the Control Panel (large icons) Biometric devices even though it is turned on.
The reader worked fine before I tried to update it to a newer version & I still believe I installed an incorrect version of the Simple Pass software.

  • Can't install Canon EOS Digital Solution disk

    Hi,
Have got a problem installing 'EOS digital solution disk' which came with my Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera. Here is a description of what happens:
I click on 'CANON EOS Digital Installer' icon as instructed. First something called 'MasterInstaller' launches, and I select 'Europe' then 'UK' when prompted. The main menu appears again and I select 'Install', then 'Next' then 'Easy Install'.
I 'Agree' the terms, then hit 'Next' in Starting Installation window.
At this point, 'Installer' launches and a window appears with the text "Preparing to install ImageBrowser" (with a blue striped barber pole type line beneath) but nothing happens. The blue stripes do not 'move' as is normally the case when something is working. It just locks up, and usually the Mac beachball of death will spin. I've tried leaving it ages to sort itself out, but nothing changes.
When I go into the 'Force Quit' option from the pull down menu in Finder, (as everything is stuck) the 'Installer' and 'MasterInstaller' are usually highlighted in red, I guess meaning they've either crashed or got lost. Sometimes the Finder joins in too (being highlighted in red).
I'm not running any other applications, and I've tried doing a Custom Install, (instead of 'Easy') and choosing only 1 application at a time, and disconnected my external drive but to no avail.
I tried emailing Canon, but they have just suggested I try loading it onto another Mac but I don't have one or access to one either.
    Some help would be appreciated.
P.S. Gave disk to my partner to try on his PC and he said it loaded ok, so I assume it's not a faulty disk.

So it still said Keys out of order ? That is a pretty serious error that Disk Utility rarely is able to repair. I would run it again and report to us exactly what is reported when you attempt a repair (not verify) please.
    Hi Dale,
    Well, the plot thickens....
I kept running the DU repair (about 5 or 6 times), and interestingly enough kept getting EXACTLY the same message:
    Checking HFS Plus volume
    Checking Extents Overflow file
    Checking Catalog file
    Keys out of order
    Rebuilding Catalog B-tree
    Repair completed
No details or other messages about what the specific problem was. (Is there a way to find out?)
Well, I took another look on the link you posted and ran an 'fsck'. (I still have no idea what that means but it sounded as if it may throw up some info.) Indeed it did and here's what appeared after I typed '/sbin/fsck -fy':
    ** /dev/rdiskOs9
    ** Root file system
    ** Checking HFS Plus volume
    ** Checking Extents Overflow file
    ** Checking Catalog file
    diskOs9: 0x8 (UNDEFINED)
    Keys out of order
    (4, 1886)
    ** Rebuilding Catalog B-tree
    diskOs9: 0x8 (UNDEFINED)
** The volume Mac Hard Disk could not be repaired.
    sh-2.05a#
(Hopefully there aren't any typos, I just typed this in myself, having written down the info on paper.)
Obviously the DU knows there's a problem, but simply thinks it's fixing it every time I run a repair. A bit like Groundhog Day I guess....
    Now what??

  • Failure to install canon digital camera software

I'm unable to install the software from the disc provided and the update from the Canon site. I have run a disc repair and still unable to install. The camera downloads to another iMac and the software installed to a Dell. Also I tried installing an earlier version that works on second iMac but cannot get that to download to primary iMac (G4 10.4.8)
Any ideas about what to do next?

    Hi bluebee,
It is not your iMac. I just purchased an iMac G5 Intel and I also have a Canon Digital Elph (with the Canon software installed on my eMac G4) wondering the same thing. There are some aspects of the Canon software that I prefer over iPhoto.
But before installing, I came across the following on Canon's homepage:
"Canon is conducting compatibility tests for the current versions of Canon digital imaging software with the shipping versions of Mac OS X 10.4 [Tiger]. Results will be posted soon. For now, Canon is not claiming compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4"
    Hope this helps,

  • Inability to activate installed Adobe Digital Editions software

I am able to download and successfully install the Adobe Digital Editions software on my HP Pavillion desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium but I cannot activate the program after installation.
Before the first time the program is launched, to gain access, you must enter your Adobe ID and Password but I am never asked for this information at the end of the installation process.
I have installed, uninstalled and re-installed the program several times but the end result is always the same.  When I open the program all I get is a black, inoperative screen.
Thank you for any suggestions as to why this is happening.

I'm not sure what process you've followed to install ADE.  I'm guessing, so
let me go over the process from the start.  No offense - I don't have
enough information about what you've done to be specific.
First, you should be going to the Adobe website and registering as a user.
When you do that, your ADE download will contain your Adobe User ID and
your Adobe password.  At that point, ADE is 'ready for action'.  I would
uninstall ADE, empty the Recycle Bin, then register with Adobe and try the
    download again.
Next, Win 7 seems to have some kinks in it that have caused some ADE users
to swear, curse and generally get nasty at the software.  Security settings
have to be set to allow ADE to interact with ebook websites.  But there are
some hidden settings that you don't see that have caused problems.  Also,
some users have mentioned that you may need to use 'compatibiltiy mode' for
    the software.
    Hope this helps!

  • Canon digital camera software

I just purchased a Canon SD 850 IS digital camera. It comes with Canon's Digital Camera Solution Disc. For Macintosh, it includes ImageBrowser 5.8, PhotoStitch 3.1, and EOS Utility 1.1. The manual says not to connect the camera until the software is downloaded.
Do I need to download the software, or will Iphoto be sufficient? Is there any disadvantages to downloading the software?
    Thanks.

    Hi there!
You don;t need to use the Canon software to upload your images to you Mac and there is no disadvantage downloading the software.
If it were me, I would go ahead and download the Canon Software. The main reason would be the use of PhotoStich, there are no Apps you have on your Mac that can do some of the things PhotoStich is designed to do. You can read more about Photostitch here: http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/panoramic-software.htm
If you do decide to install the Canon software, you will also need to decide whether iPhoto or ImageBrowser should handle the downloading and indexing of your images. You can make this choice by opening Apps > Image Capture, open preferences and pick which one should open.

  • Installed digital camera raw update 3.8, but Aperture doesn't recognize Oly E-P3 raw files

I was excited to see that the digital camera raw compatibility update 3.8 purported to provide support for Olympus E-P3 raw files. I installed it from Software Update, and Aperture 3.1.3 (OSX 10.6.8) still showed the raw files as "unsupported". I restarted my Mac, got the same result. I downloaded and installed the standalone update, and again got the same result. Has anyone else had success with the update?

I found a solution. My E–P3 raw files still showed up as “unsupported” after reinstalling the update from the standalone updater. I discovered that selecting one of the “unsupported” raw files and having Aperture reprocess it (even though it had never been processed at all) made the file recognizable by Aperture and allowed me to make adjustments to it. I then reprocessed all of my E–P3 raw files and the only problem I have noted is that the vertical files were not auto rotated.
In reprocessing the raw files, I selected "only photos without adjustments" and "reprocess existing images". I hope this helps anyone who experienced this problem.
