Installing downloaded Applications
I received my Macbook for Christmas and it's my first Apple so I'm not all that knowledgable about the ins and outs, but I'm having problems trying to install any application I download from the internet. I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox as well as Flip4Mac and a dvd copy program. With Firefox I get an unexpected error (error code 10822) and with the others the installer begins but then fails as soon as the installer tries to create a folder to install to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Be sure you downloaded Mac versions. The following may help you acclimate to your MacBook.

Problems installing downloaded applications
I am having problems installing downloaded applications. After I download an application, I can see it in my "downloads" folder. When I double click it, instead of finding the package, I am taken directly to my "terminal" screen, and then cannot install. Is there a setting that is the problem, and if so, how can I correct it? Thanks in advance for any help.
I have read the post above but cannot really follow the advice & it doesn't seem to help me. I have downloaded two applications which do not load; (1) a plugin for Photoshop & (2) some Nokia sync software for my phone. I can see the downloads, but with (1) - which is a .dmg file - when I click on it, it does nothing; doesn't open or install anything. With (2), it tells me it is downloading to 'Macintosh HD'; but when I look on the HD I cannot see it anywhere.
Can anyone assist please? -

Installing downloaded applications on my Mac
When I download a Mac OSX application from the Net, a good install routine will include a folder with the name of the program and an arrow pointing to the Applications folder. All I have to do is drag one to the other and presto, install done. (A Mac just works...)
But even the best Mac install routines leave me on my own when it comes to the support files for the application -- help files, instruction manual, licenses, etc. For these files I am left to my own devices to determine where to put them. I would appreciate any advice as to how to handle these.Ever notice that the first time you launch an app it takes a moment or two longer than the second time? That’s because it’s configuring all those support files. You don’t do anything with them. As for Licences, they are usually added via the app itself, look in the menus, you’ll see a Registration option under one of them.

I downloaded some photos that were from an older version of iPhoto,I was asked to install the application to upgrade/. (Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete.) I clicked ok, & iphoto will now not open or close. It continues to search, even when I turn computer off & back on. Please, HELP??? I NNED my photos!

When I try to download applications such as Internet Explorer, Yugma, and iTunes in Firefox, I just get a window that says "save" or "cancel", but never one that says "run" so I don't think it's actually installing anything. It shows up in a "download" window, then the icon shows up on my desktop. When I click on it to launch it, it says "open with" and I get the same "save/cancel" window. It's a continuous circle. What am I doing wrong??

Because of how integrated it is with windows IE should work. If it's not working, something more widespread could be wrong with your computer that would also prevent other browsers from working properly. Of course we'd love you to stick with Firefox, but you should get help with IE, too. -
I am facing the problem on downloading apps from Mac App Store, when I try to install the application from App store, I am getting an error message "Status_Code_Error" while click on "Login"
Same problem here in Brazil.
It seems to be a problem with logging in App Store in the Mac (Yosemite 10.10.2).
When I tried the very same userid and password I was able to login in to use my iCloud account from the same computer and also from my iPhone. -
I am getting the PowerPC applications are no longer supported error, so I downloaded Libreoffice and can not find it on my hard drive anywhere. It did say it would install to Applications, but it's not there. How do I find it and can I put it in my dock?

Look in the folder displayed where you see the arrow. The actual Downloads folder is found in your Home (user) folder. -
I just got creative cloud 2014 and decided to install After effects on my laptop. I get error to install Adobe Application Manager. Prevent Adobe application manager auto install downloaded software
I used Adobe application manager to download a trial version of photoshop cs6, but I need to install it at another time. Adobe application manager instead installs photoshop immediately.
How Can I prevent Adobe application manager to install downloaded software automatically?You can only download a trial once, so you need to download it when you can use it.

I'm now at Sudan. I'm from Bangladesh. After coming Sudan I can't download/install any application from apps store. It shows error code-1009. Now what to do ? can anybody help me....?
Are you trying to download apps from the Sudan app store? If so, you have to have a valid credit card and billing address in the country of the app store to purchase from that app store.
Some countries also have restrictions on the apps and functions allowed in their countries. -
Not able to Install Video download application from App store to ipad3
In my new ipad 3 application store, I found some applications available for Video dowload from youtube or other sites. But unfortunately these applications "Install" icon is not highlighted and due to that i am not able to download those applications. It is not some error as I saw such "blocking" happen for all video download applications.
This issue happen for both free & paid applications. Other than this, I didn't have any issue in installing other applications which are non video downloader applications. Is this due to some wrong settings or Apple itself not permitting to do so.
I read in web that many able to download such application to download Youtube video but I am not able to do so.. Looking for your quick revert.Sync it as you would anything else. Are you having a problem?

I face problem with downloading application from apple store.
It took more than 5 hours to install google maps application and many other application took more than 24 hours.
It is very worst to see such downloading performace with my new bought iphone5.
My WIFI connections seems to be very good. As I can able to open many webpages at very high speed.
I can able to see my many HD videos open and play immediately once I touch.
Though i cannot able to test the speed, as the www.speedtest.net also not working in my iphone5.
When i launch speedtest.net app i get the message "Finding closest server" forever and it is never showing the speed details.
My laptop shows the 10Mbps speed with speedtest.net on the same WIFI network
