Installing driver but hardware not fo

First of all I have tried the suggested fix from this thread http://forums.creative.com/creativel...&query.id=3997
The model number on my card is SB0200.
According to this site I have a: Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Digital (Dell), DR release ..3. In my hardwar profile it says I have the following Sound Blaster Li've! 5. (WMD). The driver version i have is :5.2..203.
When i download the newer drivers (Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe ) it gives me the following error upon trying to install:
could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Please ensure your sound blaster hardware is properly installed before running this setup.
I have been able to get the original drivers off of my disc, but cannot get any further updates except on from the Dell website which gets me to version i'm currently running.
I have problems running halo and Half Life 2 because I get distortions in the sound when playing them.
Can someone please tell me how to get these newer drivers to install on my system.

Are you using a Dell PC?
Because what I know is, Dell uses a custom version of the SB Li've chip so drivers have to be obtained from Dell themselves.
EDIT - Ignore this message for the time being. Let me see what I can dig up.
Meanwhile, here's what you can do.
Use a program like WinRAR and uncompress the UniPack exe file. Then navigate into the Audio/Drivers folder and double click on 'CTZSPXX.exe' and install drivers from there.Message Edited by BigBen on -22-2004 :26 PM

To what password are you referring? Do you mean your user account's admin password? Or do you mean the master password for File Vault or do you mean a Firmware Password?
For an admin password:

    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
     When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
     Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
     instructions in the dialog window that will appear.
     Or see Reset a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Password and
     OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
If you cannot do the above then try this:
1. Boot to Safe Mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each command line:
     /sbin/fsck -yf
     If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command until
     you do. If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message,
     then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
     mount -uw /
     cd /private/var/db/netinfo
     mv local.nidb local.old
     rm ../.AppleSetupDone
     shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.
This last method does not actually change a password. It simply removes the user accounts and lets you create an initial admin account as if the computer were new out of the box.
How to reset the OS X password without a startup CD:
Reboot into Single-user Mode. Enter the following and press RETURN after each command line
   1. Type fsck -fy
   2. Type mount -uw /
   3. Type passwd <username>
I have never tried this method myself.

What model computer do you have? some early trackpads will not support all gestures.
Front Row was dropped by Apple in Lion. I beleive it can be recovered from Snow Leopard, I haven't tried it myself.

If they are still on your Mac's drive then you should be able to add them back into iTunes via File > Add To Library

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

Installed Leopard on drive, but did not wipe it clean

I installed Leopard on a partitioned drive and didn't erase everything on it. I thought I did, but apparently not. Whenever I restarted with the install disk in the machine, it started up in Leopard, all nice and new. Then when I restated with the disk out (held down the mouse button on restart), it starts up the way it it was in 10.4.x with the same partitions and on the partition that has Leopard on it, I can see under Users the new install as a username w/the usual directories of Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.
Problem is, the original startup drive has been messed around with so much, I think I deleted System Preferences or I can't run the new System Preferences...dunno.
Is there some way to target a startup disk when you don't have system prefs? I know I have what should be a viable startup disk since there's an OS installed on the drive. Hope that makes sense.

Restart your computer, and press and hold down the option key before the Apple logo appears.
You should then see all available startup partitions.

I want to replace my Mac Pro, original Hard Drive but can not slide it out to replace.

I have copied my Original Hard drive and place a larger drive in a open slot in my Mac Pro, Now I want to take out the Original Drive, but the tray does not slide out. Does any one know why? I got my Mac Pro June 2007. It has two Optical drives and I have filled it with 3 internal Hard drives and 8 gig of memory. all this works and the new Hard drive works just fine, but now want to replace the Original Hard drive, and it will not slide out. any Help?

Make sure you set Startup Disk control panel to the drive you want.
Clone the drive to another drive and have a bootable backup.
SuperDuper, etc to clone.
Repair the drive (from another drive or DVD) and repair permissions (maybe).
Disconnect externals just to rule out.
Ideal boot drive has just OS and applications.
Limit login items.
Startup should be 30 seconds with WD Black 640GB and up.
Note: never mentioned what you planned to use, or how you cloned or setup the boot drive.
What matters is the drive is latest generation, probably 64MB cache (32MB also).
People use SSD 120GB or 10K 150-600GB WD VelociRaptor but most popular is WD Black 1TB probably.
