Installing driver for hp deskjet 1660 ptinter

Installing d1660 deskjet printer on Acer laptop win7 32bit and the driver will not install. Gone thru the hp assistance step by step several times with the same results. I'm at wits end. Any suggestions?

Hi, thank you for the information. The Parsing error problems occur when important operating system files become misconfigured, deleted or damaged. This is a common problem with computers that don't get maintained regularly. Eventually the system becomes overloaded with problems and begins to crash and display errors.
As for the installation, I would like you to complete the steps listed below as recommended by fellow Community member pcwizard:
Step one: Clear temp directory
Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete. If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this file(s).
Continue with Step 2 below
Step two: Downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Download the full feature software and drivers

2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software
3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
4. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy
7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.
8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
9. Open folder Util
10. Open folder CCC
11. Run the uninstall_L4
12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
13. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.

I tried installing the driver for my HP Deskjet D2360 printer from the HP website.
I downloaded the full 215 MB HP Photosmart and Deskjet Software Suite (twice), but ran into a Fatal Error.
It advised that I download the HP Printer Installation Wizard, which I did. it carried out the same download and it failed too with the same error.
The printer works fine with my PC running Windows 7.

I am sorry to say, there is no driver or full feature software for the Deskjet 540 for Windows 7. The only available driver is for Windows XP. You may consider getting a newer printer. I would suggest you call HP. HP might be able to offer you a discount on a newer model.

Am trying to instal driver for HP 3600 laser printer onto my new laptop HP 625 need help

Am trying to instal driver for HP3600 printer onto my new HP625 laptop but keep getting message that I do not have IE5 or later and cannot instal until I instal IE5 or later. I have the lastet Internet Explorer so don't know why I get the message and why I can't instal the driver. Can anyone help me?

My Windows 7 Ultimate {32bit} does not install driver for my LG HDD HXD5 320GB

My windows 7 does not install driver for my LG EXTERNAL HDD HXD5 320GB & its attached using a USB.
It works perfectly on Other computers having Windows 7 & Windows XP & Windows Vista, just doesn't work on mines.
I have had internet connected when it was installing hence it got the opportunity to search Windows Update for it but it fails :(
It works even on my computer ( I have DUAL OS) on windows XP SP3 but i need it to work in Windows 7.

& i have already tried tried the solution which was proposed for another topic in this forum on which it was to Uninstall the driver using Device Manager and unplug the HDD and attach again and let the computer detect and install it again, my computer
does detect it but fails to install the drivers.
My Computer has a 2GB of RAM & 2.40GHZ (32bit) with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and had come with Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit installed, & i upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit which is completely updated to all the Updates that Microsoft
had offered (using the built in Windows Update in Control Panel)

PS: Same is the case with some of my USB Flash drives, but in their case they don't get detected at all but get in Windows XP SP3 (which is another OS on my pc) as well as on windows 7 and other OS on OTHER COMPUTERS but not mines in Windows 7.

Hi,
I recommend you try to update the BIOS and the motherboard chipset drivers for Windows 7 firstly.
After that, please refresh the USB Stack:
Control Panel – Device Manager – USB Serial Controllers – Right Click on EVERYTHING and UNINSTALL all except the category itself – Reboot
. This refreshes the drive and the USB stack
Then, right click on the LG EXTERNAL HDD HXD 5 320GB in Device Manager and select Update Driver Software.
You may also try the Windows 7 built-in
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Error installing Driver for audio device in MS-6585 Motherboard

I have MS-6585 Max L motherboard. I installed windows 2000 with SP4. When I tried to install driver for the audio device, it always fails with the following error.
An error occurred during the installation of the device.
The data is invalid.
And in the Device status in the properties menu
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
I tried to download the latest driver using the "Live Update" and it didn't help. I tried few other options suggested in the web.
The usual cause of this problem in Windows 2000/XP systems is Registry keys that are set as read-only.
From the Start menu, click Run and enter RegEdit to run the Registry Editor. Open the following - Keys => HKey_Local_machine => System => CurrentControlSet => Enum => PCI.
You will see several keys in this form - Ven_xxxx - where xxxx represents a string such as - 1102&Dev_004&Subsys_00011103&Rev_04.
In each of these folders there is another folder that has a long numerical name. Open each of these folders, and look for the DeviceDesc entry that matches the type of hardware that you are trying unsuccessfully to install. Use the right mouse button to click on the Ven_xxxx entry for that device, and click Permissions. If it is set to read-only, then that is the cause of the problem. To rectify it, change it to Allow Full Control.
I'm stuck and I am not sure what else to try. Its not clear to me where the problem is. Is there any log I can look? Any other suggestions please
BTW, It used to work..I had to reinstall windows 2000 and after the clean/format reinstallation it stopped working.

It might be that the drivers are for WinXP. Are you 100% sure they are for 2000? Can you get a copy of XP, it would prabobly solve youre problem.

When you get that message, just select "yes" or "continue anyway" and you should be fine.

Satellite A100-599 - Unable to install driver for nVidia GeForce Go 7600

Greetings to all!
Trying to install driver for Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 after complete system reinstall, but without any success. Only safe mode is available after this driver installation, tried with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and with different drivers from Nvidia and Toshiba sites - same result all the time :(

The CD won't support Yosemite. You just need the newest drivers to install.

Driver install problems for HP deskjet 3052A windows XP

I am trying download driver for hp printer . I download the HP solutions program and try and run it and nothing happens ? I do not have the original install disk? Is it due to settings on my pc? I have a Dell dimension 5100 desktop pc. I do have a HP deskjet 6988 installed on the pc currently.

If by HP solutions program, you mean Printer Install Wizard, it is only for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. you can however, download and install your software using the following link; HP Deskjet Full Feature Software and Drivers.
If this does not work, please provide me with any applicable details, such as error messages and/or screenshots. How to take and post a screenshot on HP Support Forum.

Driver for Hp deskjet 1280 for Windows 7 x64, SP1

I can't find any way to install the driver for my Hp deskjet 1280, printer, not on the site, not in the instalation wizard, anyhwere, I saw on other forums that there were some tips; like using the Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver from the instalation wizard in Windows, which is compatible with the 1280 printer, but there is no Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver, only other models of Deskjet, which I have tried and they don't work with this printer. I hope you can help me.

Is there a Mountain Lion driver for HP Deskjet 5740?

I've been to the HP support site; they make it look as if they have a Deskjet 5740 driver for Mountain Lion, but when I get to the page where I'm supposed to be able to choose a download, I'm caught in this loop with "choose your connection" and an FAQ link, but no actual link to an actual driver download. Here's the page I keep being caught at:

Is HP pulling my leg here? Is there a real, actual HP 5740 driver for Mountain Lion, or is it some kind of mythical thing? Apple supplies all the drivers for printers that are supported in each version of OS X. If Apple doesn't have a drive for it in the Printer Driver Package then there isn't one and that is why HP has you in that loop.
One way to check it to open Print & scan then click the Add Printer, if there are no printers already in that section, or the Plus ( + ) sign at the bottom and then broswe for the printer and OS X will install the proper driver and software.
