Installing drivers on XP w/bootcamp - No Disc but have access to the files

I successfully installed XP on my Macbook (Late 2009) using Bootcamp, however I don't have the OSX disc that came with my mac as I am currently travelling. I can however be sent files from the disc.
I tried installing the bootcamp.msi file when on XP, which installs Bootcamp on XP and gives me a few options in a control panel.
However I don't have the drivers needed for the network card/ethernet port/sound card etc.
What do I need to be able to get these drivers please?

Again, it doesn't help you, but fortunately for me my update of all my iphones did not have problems like you mention. My only issue that I have been able to see if the printing is not functioning correctly from the windows XP machine. It can see the airport it just doesn't get the print to hit the printer. I have reconfigured and restarted the airport. Even unplugged it. I have restarted the windows xp machine several times. I have not tried to re-install any software on the windows machine, and hopefully don't have to.
The main problem that I have with this situation, is that I have no logging or debugging messages that are exposed anywhere along this process to even begin diagnosis. The printing process in windows is only the standard pitiful end user troubleshooting that doesn't even come close to being helpful in this situation. Does anyone know how to turn up logging somewhere? I am Unix person, so I don't know what is available in windows for turning up log messages on the printing process. I can technically diagnosis this problem, but at least need some log messages about what is going on through out the process.

You are allowed to have two machines with activated installations, so if you only had one installation, you still have the option to install on a second without doing anything further than that.  If you originally downloaded the purchase thru Adobe then you might find a download link available in your Adobe account online.  You can also download thru the following page if you can find your version:
    Download and Installation Help -
    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html
You can have the first installation deactivated to free up the activation and have it available for another machine again as well.  YOu need to contact Adobe Support thru chat for that.  For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • After installing PS & Premier Elements on my new Mac, will all four accounts on the computer have access to the software?

    How many accounts are allowed?
    Thanks for your help.

I think the OP is talking about local user accounts on the computer having access to the installed Adobe software, not multiple Adobe accounts.
e.g. once Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are installed, will User 1, User 2, User 3 and User 4 on the local computer all have access to the Adobe software?
My understanding is yes but only the registered user should use the software to comply with the EULA.

  • I just installed a second, larger hard drive. Can I copy all of the files?

I have a G5 Tower with an 80GB Seagate hard drive. I just installed a 160GB Seagate in the second bay. It seems to be connected. I partitioned it. Can I now simply copy everything that was on the old hard drive onto the new one? Do I then tell the computer to boot from the new larger hard drive, and it will boot and operate automatically from the new hard drive, as if I was still using the old hard drive? Will everything work simply by copying (dragging) all of the files from the old drive to the new one?

    Hi James_ Nindel;
    I answered your other post.
Double posting the same problem is a good way to confuse everyone.

  • I have installed Firefox 4 twice, and each time I get a message that the file is corrupt and can't be opened.

I ordered a download of PagePlus X5 from Serif in the UK. The program is 706 MB. Several times, only 300+ MBs downloaded. The program had .exe but the partial download had .msi. The message that came up was "Setup was unable to find the msi package or patch . . ." Serif suggested I install Firefox as a web browser to see if the program would download. That is what I tried to do, and that is when I got the message that the file was corrupt. Serif is sending me a disk. Is there a disk for Firefox?

How large is your iPhone's storage? 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB? You can go to Settings > General > Usage, and that will tell you how much storage you have used and how much you have left. If the storage is truly almost full, then you would need to either delete files from your iPhone, or sync less files from iTunes to your iPhone.
    Hope this helps!

  • What did I do wrong? I used to have iTunes installed on this computer and lost it when it crashed. No I can't get past a certain point in the installation point. I keep getting an error message stating that I need to verify that I have access to this file

Help!! What's going wrong here. I used to have iTunes installed on this computer but lost it when it crashed. I've tried re-installing it numerous times but I keep getting the same error message. "Error writing to file: C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes.Resources\es.lproj\iPadLicense.rtf. Verify that you have access to that directory." I know I have access to that directory because on a different computer I can sync my iPad and iPhone. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to go in and authorize or turn on? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • I am having a problem moving files from a iMac  in location mac in another location.  I have tried using Dropbox and the Public folder in the i disc.  When I drag the files into dropbox they become alias' and I can't open them at the other end beca

I am having a problem moving files from an imac in one location to an imac inanother location.  I have tried using Dropbox which is installed in both locations but when i drad a file ino yhe app it becomes an alias.  When I get to the other location it says I can't open the file because the " original application that created it is not present".  This is despite the fact that the app that created both files is installed in both computers.  If I use the Public folder in the idisc, when I get to the other location the file isn't there.  Am I forgetting to turn something on or off?  Should I manually sync the Public folder and if so how? Thanks

  • I need to install Mac OS on a USB external HD, but can't find the OS installer...

    Hello,
I recently installed Yosemite on my Macbook Pro, but then I got an integrity issue on my system HD. I need to repair this HD.
But the recovery partition doesn't work (by the way, it's still OS 10.9, not 10.10...).
So I would like to install Yosemite (downloaded version) on an external HD. But I fail finding the location of the installer.
I just found a "OS X Yosemite.appdownload" package in the Application folder, but it's content (> show package contents) seems quite empty, even when I download Yosemite...
So, I would like to know:
    - where is located the installation package?
    - what I should do to keep it from being deleted?
Thanks a lot for any help...

When you originally downloaded the Yosemite installer it was sent to your Applications folder, it did it's thing and then deleted itself. In order to avoid that, you'd need to quit the installer before running it, copy it to a different location and then start it again to actually run the upgrade. So you'll have to download the Yosemite installer again to install it on an external.

  • I want to install Photoshop elements 11 onto a new computer but have lost my activation code

I have a new pc and want to install my photoshop elemets onto it but have lost my activation code.  Tried searching on Adobe, but I did not register the product.  How can I retrieve it?

You can check you Adobe account online to see if the serial number is registered under your account.  If not then your only option will likely be to contact Adobe Support directly thru chat to see if they can provide you with a/the serial number. For them to do so will require you being able to prove ownership.

  • Firefox won't re-install, saying that it's running. I was trying to delete the files manually.

I tried re-installing firefox and it wouln't let me, saying that i had to close it first. so i tried to manually delete the files instead of uninstalling and now nothing works.

Reboot the computer. That will close everything.
    '''[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ Download Firefox Full Installer For All languages And Systems]''' {web link}
    Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the '''Programs''' folder on your computer.
    '''Windows:''' C:\Program Files
    C:\Program Files (x86)
    '''Mac:''' Open the "Applications" folder.
    '''Linux:''' Check your user manual.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla and Firefox folders by adding '''.old''' to them.
    Now run the full installer.
If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

  • Is there a way to search for and install all uninstalled fonts? I'm getting bored of opening all the files up.

I've got a file of about 100 typefaces, which is 1000s of fonts. I want to install them all but I dont want to have to open each file and install them all individually (or in small groups).
So is there a way to search for and install ALL uninstalled fonts in one hit?
    Cheers.

The best solution I've come across so far is to dump all movies into a shareware app called iVI. It'll show whether each movie has subtitles or not.
