Installing eclipse plugins in FB Standalone

Is there a way to install standard eclipse plugins for flex
builder standalone version?
I'd like to have something like
Doclipse or other JavaDoc
(ASDoc?) plugin to assist in commenting.

I had previously installed just the Eclipse 2.1 binary.
I uninstalled Eclipse and downloaded/installed the Eclipse 2.1.3 SDK from www.eclipse.org and re-installed peated PDK plugin. Now I see the Portal Development Kit in its proper places in Eclipse.
Not sure what's in the SDK that's not in the binary that would affect this - maybe I just needed v2.1.3. I don't know... but it's working now.

  • Unable to install Eclipse Plugin for Azure

I am unable to install the Eclipse Plugin for Azure.  I have Eclipse Indigo and have installed the Azure SDK 2.3.  When I try to add the site http://dl.msopentech.com/eclipse in the Install New Software window I get an authentication pop-up.
When I try my Microsoft ID it fails authentication.  The instructions do not mention any authentication.  What should I put in here?

    Hi,
This plugin requires Azure SDK 2.3. This can be downloaded using the Web Platform Installer (WebPI) at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=252838. However, if you don’t have it installed, when you create your first Azure deployment project, the plugin will automatically install
    Azure SDK 2.3.
Also, you could download the sdk from GitHub (https://github.com/MSOpenTech/WindowsAzureToolkitForEclipseWithJava ) and manually install . And you could refer to this blog
    (http://java.interoperabilitybridges.com/cloud ).
    Please try it.
    Regards,
    Will

  • Can't install eclipse plugins

    Hey guys.
I've just installed arch since yesterday.  pacmanning & configuring xorg and a DE (xfce went pretty smooth), also installing a jre and eclipse went nice.
But now, i want to install many plugins for eclipse. (EMF, subclipse, phpeclipse,...)
So i add the urls, i select the ones i want, i accept the licences, i choose mirrors, the files download, i click "install all" when the warning prompts me that the plugins are unsigned.
But then it fails, no matter which plugin, the problem is always pretty similar:

    okay, it worked.. sort off..
i had to do those commands on /opt/eclipse, not just on /opt/eclipse/plugins, because some data had to be written in other subdirectories then just plugins.
But now my problem is: i'm in an x-session as user dieter, i start eclipse, so it runs as user dieter, i install plugins, i'm prompted if i want to restart ecliipse, i choose yes.
After that: eclipse prompts me for what my workspace should be, it suggests: /root/workspace?? And when checking out the "new software" thing, most of my url's for plugins are gone?? It's like eclipse is running as user root, instead of user dieter? (since it doesn't use my settings, but those of user root?)  Even when starting a new x-session and launching eclipse again, it keeps on behaving like this  :?
However it's not running as root, here's a piece of ps aux
    dieter    3270  0.0  1.5   9648  1748 tty1     S    15:12   0:00 /opt/eclipse/eclipse

so why does it behave so funny, and how do i fix it?

  • Eclipse plugin - manual install

Anyone know how to install Eclipse plugins manually>? I have a zip file containing the plugin data but, I've extracted the data to pretty much all of the folders and subfolders in the Eclipse sub directory and ......nothing.
    Any help would be great.
    -Pengu

Best approach is to find and read the installation instructions of that plugin.
Generally you just move plugins into the /plugins directory and its special features in the /feature directory. Don't forget to shutdown any Eclipse instance first.

  • Installing Dali plugin in IBM Rational Software Architect

    Hi,
We use IBM Rational Software Architect as development environment, and we want to use the Dali Eclipse plugin to generate Entities using TopLink. We cannot get Dali installed in IBM RSA though. Since IBM RSA is based on Eclipse, it shouln't be a problem to install Eclipse plugins. We tried installing Help > Software Updates > Find & Install and via copying the files into the Eclipse tree, but neither of the to methods succeeded. The plugin simply doesn't show up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do to get it installed? We use a separate installation of Eclipse Europa now as a workaround. But I think you understand we prefer to use a single development environment.
Here's some detailed information about the version of IBM RSA we're using:
    * IBM Rational Software Architect: Version: 7.0.0
    * Eclipse Platform: Version: 3.2.1.r321_v20060921-b_XVA-INSQSyMtx; Build id: M20060921-0945

Flex Builder 3 plugin is not intended to be installed on Eclipse Galileo (3.5).
Zend Studio 7 is based on Eclipse 3.5, and when I tried to install the FB3 plugin, the installation wizard gave me this error:
"Please choose an existing Eclipse 3.2, 3.3, or 3.4 folder to be extended with the Flex Builder Plugin-ins."
However Flash Builder 4 it seems that it's working with Eclipse 3.5. I've just installed Flash Builder 4 plug-in into Zend Studio 7.

  • Error while installing AVR Eclipse Plugin in Linux

    Hello Everyone,
I got the latest lubuntu op system running and already installed Eclipse Platform Version: 3.8.1. I am new to linux and to eclipse too.
My goal is to use eclipse for AVR programming in linux environment. I tried to follow some tutorials. They say to follow these few steps.:
[Help] -> [Install new software] -> [Work with] :site link
After i have added that link eclipse says Could not find that site link
I actually tried another method which worked for me in windows. In Windows I added the content.jar file and could install the AVR plugin. I tried to do the same in linux. However i got the following error:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

Is there a way to install AVR Eclipse Plugin in linux?

You should have the Marketplace Client feature installed.
Go to the Install New software, select your Eclipse base repository and look at General Purpose Tools -> Marketplace Client.
(The instructions are for Luna, I do not have older versions at hand).
Install it if it is missing and try again.
You may need to also install the GCC-AVR package from your Linux distribution repository.

  • How to Install Lomboz Plugin for Eclipse

    Hi,
Can anyone please give me the steps for installing Lomboz plugin in Eclipse 3.0.
i have tried, but i didn't achieve this. so please help me.
    thanks
    bhaskar.

Frankly, I haven't installed Lomboz but I'm working with Sysdeo.
But in the "Apache Tomcat Bible" which I use, there is an explanation about both plugins.
I hope this will help you out.
    1) Go to www.objectlearn.com and navigate to the Lomboz section. There you can download the plugin.
You must download 3 files :
    lomboz.096.zip
    install.pdf
    tutorial.pdf
Before beginning the installation, you must have installed Tomcat first.
    2) To install the plugin, extract the contents of the lomboz-zipfile and put them into C:\eclipse. The directory plugins\com.objectlearn.jdt.j2ee should now be created under the Eclipse home.
    3) Now you should restart Eclipse and go to Window - Customize perspective. Expand File-> New and make sure all the Lomboz items are selected.
Under Available items, expand Window -> Show View tree and check Lomboz J2EE View.
Finally, expand the Other tree and check the Lomboz Actions items.
Then Click OK to complete the plugin activation.
    4) Now you should modify the workbench preferences. Select Window - Preferences from the menu.
Check the source and output location for the creation of new projects. Navigate in the left pane to Java > New project. Make sure the Folders radio button is checkec, the Source Folder Name is set to src, and the Output Folder Name is set to bin. Without this, the Lomboz plugin will not operate properly.
Like the Sysdeo plugin, Lomboz must point to a JDK, not a JRE to enable JSP compilation. In the Lomboz entry under the preferences dialog box, enter the location of JDK Tools.jar.
This could be something like C:\jdk1.3.1\lib\tools.jar.
Mind you, I bought the Apache Tomcat Bible in 2002, but it gave me a lot of support. So, I'm pretty sure you will not work with JDK 1.3.1 any more and the Eclipse you're working with will be a newer version. The menus I mentioned have perhaps other names, but I still hope this text will point you to the right direction.

    Â Hi Senthil
The only way for you to get CR4E is to download it from our web site.
I just made a try, just to check if our web site was having any troubles today, and it worked fine, so I assume you might be experiencing some troubles on your side with your internet connexion.
I have successfully downloaded the All-In-One zip file of CR4E, that you can find there :
    Â http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/433
I suggest you give it some more tries.
    Thank you for using CR4E.

  • Problem installing FB Eclipse plugin in Vista

Hi, I was trying to install Flex Builder 2 plugin for eclipse
on Vista x86, and on the step where I need to specify the folder of
existing Eclipse, I keep on getting the error:
Please choose an existing Eclipse folder (3.1 or greater) to
    be updated.
This folder must contain eclipse.exe and the standard folder
    named configuration.
Both eclipse.exe and the fold were present, and I have tried
installing over both Eclipse SDK 3.2.2 and 3.3 RC2 but the same
error was returned to me; I have also tried to choose the parent
folder but nothing changed except the error took much less time to
    show up.
    Please help a troubled n00b ^_^.

I had the same problems and solved them.
Actually, Flex Builder 2 is intended to work as plug-in with
Eclipse 3.1 and 3.2 - and Adobe page says it clear (
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/productinfo/systemreqs/)
    - however, It would be great if Adobe'd include this info in the
    installer too.
If you want to work with Eclipse 3.3 Europa, you should try
Flex Builder 3 beta - this one will work with Eclipse 3.3.
So, to solve your problem with FB2, just install Eclipse 3.2
and use it with plug-in configuration of Flex Builder 2.0(.1). This
helped me and I'm sure will help you too.

  • Installing the Android Eclipse plugin: AUR vs Eclipse built-in install

The wiki suggests that you install the Android Developer Tools Eclipse plugin from the AUR. I had this running earlier in the year but, due to being away, mothballed my system for several months (I do this too often!) and found that after the update-orgy that followed, the Android plugins weren't showing up in any sense in my Eclipse interface. Since I wasn't mid-project, I decided it was easier just to entirely remove Eclipse and install it all from scratch. Then I noticed that Eclipse has a built in mechanism for installing plugins. My setup now works as before.
Of course "I did something wrong so it didn't work" is not the same as "it's a bad method", but what is the advantage of installing from the AUR as opposed to straight from Google? Should I add a comment to the wiki on this?

There are a couple of things we've found that can interfere with using a CS5 Suite SN with FB4 Plug-in:
    - if you have multiple copies of FB4 Plug-in installed on your machine, only the first one will be able to use a Suite SN
    - with some configurations, you need to have the qualifying CS5 Suite (Web Premium or Master Collection) installed on the same machine where you're running FB4 Plug-in.
To remedy the first problem, here's an approach we've found to work:
    - uninstall all copies of FB4 Plug-in
    - run the CS5 Clean Script, and if it finds additional copies of FB4 Plug-in, allow it to remove them. You can find the CS5 Clean Script here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
    - reboot before re-installing FB4 Plug-in.
After re-installing FB4 Plug-in, if you want to plug into multiple copies of eclipse on your system, you don't need to install it multiple times. Instead, just copy the link file from the dropins folder in the copy of eclipse (eclipse-host-distro) bundled with FB4 Plug-in, and paste that link file into the dropins folder of your own copy of eclipse. You can repeat this multiple times if you have more than one custom copy of eclipse to plug into.

    David,
This might be caused by the fact the fact that you have the platform version of eclipse. BPEL PM requires the SDK version (full download ~87MB).
