Installing edge animate for students

How would we install edge animate for a class of students?
is there any way to install it without using creative cloud?

Going through Dave's answer there, Animate seems to be currently free, if you have an Creative Cloud account (Free or Paid - http://html.adobe.com/edge/animate/faq.html#pricing). What I would do is get each student to register for a free CC account. Install Edge Animate on each machine, then if a student wants to use it on the machine, they can log into the Application Manager using their Adobe ID and the license should activate the installed Animate for them.
I assume this wouldn't be against Adobe T&C, as each computer is using a license registered to the student, but it might be something to check.

Unable to install Edge Animate via AAM - Windows 8

Hi there,
I am trying to install Edge Animate via Adobe Application Manager... I get an error saying another installer is already running and to wait and try again. Ive checked and does not look like any other installer is running.
Ive also restarted the AAM and tried redownloading/installing Edge Animate, still no go..

I did get a string of warnings as follows though, although at present doesnt seem to be affecting the app itself.

IMac unable to install Edge Animate from Adobe Application Manager

I have removed the Beta version of Edge Animate, by dragging it from the applications foler into the trash, but whenever I try and install Edge Animate, I get the following error:
A beta version of this product exists on the computer. Please quit and uninstall that version before continuing; contact customer support. Cancel.

I actually did everything mentioned in all of the previous posts, but this was ultimately the correct answer. I used the (Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers) Edge uninstall on Preview and everything finally worked.

How can I maintain the font used in Adobe Edge Animate for Adobe Muse website?

I used a png file which is working perfect and then used the font Montez in Edge Animate for 2 titles, however once I published the file(live) to muse it a totally different font. Is there something in particular I need to do in Animate to avoid alteration of font. Help!

Why does Application Manager keep telling me to install Edge Animate?

Every time I launch the Adobe Application Manager, it tells me I have to install Edge Animate, even though I have the most updated version, every other application just says "Up to date".

So that's correct, If you have the most updated apps, It should say "Up to Date".

Cannot install Edge icons for Firefox

When I try to install the Edge theme for Firefox in Firefox 1.5b2, I get this error:
The theme uses pixmaps, and only replaces buttons in the Firefox toolbar (not in the control panel). It should be compatible with any version of Firefox.
Is there a way around this?

Uhh... Any advice on how to fix this? And after doing so, how do I recompress it into a .jar (instead of an ordinary .zip) file?

Can we add form validations in edge animate for particular input box

Hi Everyone,
I have created an animation which includes some forms to be filled by the user. For this I have created the form in which i used the j-query input box inside the edge animate. Its appearing perfectly as it should be. Now I want to validate this input box. For example, I have to put some numeric figure in the text field which is limiting to 100. Now how I can control the figure so that user can'nt put 101 and if in case user presses 101 on keyboard, the 100 appears in the text field by default. I mean to say, it should not exceed to 101.
I am a new bee for j-query and validations, so please help me out in this.

Yes it is possible.You want to make include both drop down and input fiels for particular column.Yes you can achieve this by using cell variant of column,using this you can make some cells are drop down and some are input enabled.
We have a stanard program WDR_TEST_TABLE,check the view VARIANTS_STANDARD in this go to the method WDMODIFYVIEW.
In the above methos they explained how to add cell variant to the column.

Having problems using DPS and Edge Animate for iPad Air

Hi, I recently just puchased a iPad air, wanting to explore and learn how to use DPS. I've been trying to import a OAM file from edge to indesign cc.
When i do place the file, and run a preview, as soon as i click on the preview, it breaks. The preview zooms into one section of the design.
I've designed the Edge animate file as 2048x1536 hoping to optimize for the retina display. Does my INDD file have to be 2048x1536? Or only my folio. If anyone can help me with this, it'll be a life saver. Thanks. Screen shots included as examples.

I would not test this using the "Preview" method as I have found the desktop app to be unreliable. You're better off to publish the folio privately and use the Adobe Content Viewer app to view the content on the device. If this doesn't help please provide screen shots of the settings you are using in the folio overlay panel to help the community better understand the issue.
Also just as an FYI if you intend to move forward with DPS and are publishing work to the app store, 2048x1536 folios are not recommended:
"Create only 2048x1536 folios. This approach is not recommended. In multi-issue viewers, 2048x1536 folios appear only on the HD iPad. In single-issue viewers, the content is noticeably rasterized and performance problems can occur." -

Best workflow from InDesign to Edge Animate for DPS

I'm working on a DPS project and want to take an article that I designed in InDesign, and bring it into Edge Animate to animate.
What's the best way to do that?

There is no good way to do that but without seeing the layout it's pretty much impossible to give you any advice at all. BTW, The Edge and DPS forums would be way better places to post this.

As you already figured out, if you don't see it in the Adobe Application Manager, it's likely it's due to an unsupported operating system. Here's a list of the tech specs:

I receive error -60 when I try install Edge Animate

I also have issues downloading edge animate. System requirements fulfilled, by the way.
Download in Application Manager starts, then I see 1% downloaded, then the whole thing freezes, and after about a minute I get a message "installation error - Download seems to be damaged. Click "abort", wait a few minutes and then try again. (-60)"
Doing so does not work, restarting pc does not work, switching off firewall and virus scan does not work.
Please help, it is so frustrating and annoying!

Branching this to a separate discussion. TEAMniel if you are on a managed network please work with your I.T. department to ensure the Adobe Application Manager/PDApp.exe has full access to download our software.

How do I install acrobat pro for student to a mac?

I bought the student version that says on the product specs that it works for mac and it downloaded the windows version. It never gave me the option to change it to mac and now it won't install.

But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

Publish Edge Animate for use as Banner Ad in Client Site

Building a banner ad for a client to drop into their site, and I am not sure how to publish it for them to use. They only are able to upload an HTML file and its corresponding images. They are not able to put the .js files in the appropriate locations.
I can add the edgePreload.js file in the header of the HTML file, but is there a way I can handle the other .js files so I can provide her with the single HTML file?
I published with Frameworks via CDN and Use Static HTML both checked.

Inside the edgePreload.js file, the other files are called (I have this on line #52).
Try changing these addresses to point back to your server or wherever you have the Edge files:

So instead of this:
