Installing Elements 11- how to close ShellExtLoader?
I am installing elements 11 on a iMac with OS 10.8.2 and installer wants me to close ShellExtLoader? I cannot find that application?
How to close it?

Most of the replies, even from Adobe people, say to just terminate the dynamiclinkmanager process. I hate terminating any process that I don't know what it does. Maybe the thing has important files open? What could happen if I kill it?.
In my case, I made sure to "Quit" all open Adobe applications (Br, DW, Ai, Ps, Pr, etc). After closing these programs, dynamiclinkmanager "disappeared". So I would suggest making sure there are no open Adopbe apps. If that doesn't work, then nuke the sucker :-) -
I purchased, downloaded and installed elements 13. how do i make a backup disk of it
I have installed and am using elements 13. how do i copy the program to a back up disk?
If it came as a zip or dmg file, copy it to a flash or external drive.
If you do not see it, redownload, save to your Desktop (do not open) and drag it to another drive.

Windows 7 Clean Install Elements 7 Install
I am going to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 with a clean install.
I will have a backup of my hard drive.
After I do the clean install of Windows 7 and install Elements 7 how do I get Elements 7 back to the way it was in Vista. I am particularly concerned about restoring all the Elements 7 tags.

BobIf your photos reside on the C drive only, and you put your photos and catalog folder back to the same exact locations they had on your Vista system, then PSE 7 should be able to open the catalog just fine. Do Help > System Info in the Organizer to find the location of your catalog folder.

I installed elements 12 on a Win 8.1 computer and moved all my photos from my old XP machine. I updated to elements 12.1. Now, many/most of my photos will not open because I do not have "permission" to open the files. How do I fix this so I can work with MY photos?
Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -

Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

I havev installed a new Hard Drive on my laptop but cannot find my Photoshop Elements product box with the serial number to install Elements 10 or Elememts Premier 10. How can I find out the serial / installation codes for these? I saw a reply however, it was not my name and assumed it was for someone else. Now timed out. Can UI still have help on this matter please?
If you registered PSE before, go to the main page of adobe.com, sign in and go to your account and you should find the serial number there in your purchases.

How do I install Elements 13 from the diskdrive on another computer?
I bought a hardcopy of Elements 13. I want to install it on a Windows 7-desktop pc.
However, this pc does not contain a diskdrive, therefore I want to install it from the diskdrive on my laptop.
Both computers are in my home-network. I do have administrator rights. @From the desktop I can see the contents on the disk. I can even start to run and it is possible in the startscreen to choose installing Elements 13.
Then, the resulting message is: "the specified file cannot be found"......
How do I install the software?Your best bet is to download it and install it that way. You can download the trial and use your serial number to activate it to full use (there is no difference between the trial and the full version other than the missing activation).
