Installing Elements 12 on a new Surface Pro
I have Elements 12 presently installed on a Windows 7 machine. I now also have a Surface Pro running Windows 8.1. With my present license, can I download Elements 12 to my Surface Pro?

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro. Why can't I see my scanner (Epson Perfection 3200 Photo) from the File>Import menu?
There was no driver update available (it said my driver was up to date), so I just deleted the scanner and restarted the computer. when it came up, the scanner had already been added again. With great anticipation I tried to import from Photoshop...but no luck (scanner was not visible). I finally ended up calling Epson (had great difficulty in locating a number for support) and they finally told me there is no driver update for OS X 10.10 and I should as a work around use "Image Capture" application. I tried it, and it works quite well.

I own and am downloading CS6 for install on a new surface Pro 3 tablet, don't have or want the extended version, but the installer keeps wanting to install the extended version. My regist shows it as Photoshop 13
Thanks for your help Jeff. When I put serial# in, it won't except it.... I think it wants to see a previous version in my pc because my serial is for an upgrade, but when it put in a serial# for version cs5 it still wont except. Do you think i have to install cs5 first (which is also an upgrade).. which will require that I put in version cs4 etc,.etc., etc.
Do you know how I can get into an chat with Adobe.Thats what i had to do last time I installed CS6 in my desktop PC.

Cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro
cannot install premiere elements 10 on my new macbook pro. keep getting exit code 7 half way through installation and disc ejects. running OS X 10.7.2 (lion). have installed acrobat reader, flash player, tried safe start mode...nothing works...HELP!
Yes ..thats the log in Library/Logs/adobe/installers/
The log is called
Adobe Premiere Elements 10 10.0 12-01-2011.log.gz
it has more entries in that one log but they relate to earlier fails and are identical each time....
there is a photoshop log in there as well (I bought the bundle) but that installed succesfully.
It clearly falls over trying to install Sonicfire pro 5 for premiere elements but WHY is the question
I really dont know what else to suggest...curious that the original poster on this thread had the same error on install as me it seems on a macbook pro
I really would like this to be sorted obviously if possible as soon as possible given I paid for t and cant use it
any other thoughts?

AirPort Time Capsule (firmware v7.7.3) has slow wifi connection to new Surface Pro 3
I got a new Surface Pro 3 i7. I have all the updates for it. I ran into a problem that many others also ran into which was very slow WiFi performance. I utilized many troubleshooting methods and sources and I am currently inclined to believe this... the new Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller drivers are not compatible with my Airport Time Capsule firmware version 7.7.3.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there another firmware version that works (older or newer)?
Details:
I tried all kinds of things, like changing the network drivers on the SP3 to many different versions. Many of the help forums recommended using the drivers dated 4/24/2014. This did seem to help, but not reliably. What I discovered is... if I connect using the SP3 WiFi to my network extension Airport Express on version 7.6.4, I reliably get 20-22 mbps (which is the best I can expect from my network and works great for my needs). But, when I connect to my primary network Airport Time Capsule, the best I can get is 1.5 mbps, but usually between .15 and .9 mbps. It's completely unusable in today's internet environment. At the same time, I used my iPhone and the Airport Utility to verify the connections. I used SpeedTest.net on my MacBook, iPad, iPhone and Win8.1 HP laptop to verify that every other device was getting the 20+mbps. And they did. Only the Surface Pro 3 couldn't perform when using WiFi through the Airport Time Capsule. The SP3 does achieve 20+ mbps like all my other devices, but only when connected to the Airport Express.
The articles I read said that the network drivers on the SP3 seem to require the routers to be updated to the latest versions. Both the Airport Time Capsule and the Airport Express seem to be updated. When I go into their settings using the Airport Utility, there are no updates available.
Of course this problem isn't replicated at the Microsoft store since they don't have apple routers. So, their response is to upgrade the routers. Extremely unhelpful when the Apple software is saying it is upgraded already. I can't believe this new Airport Time Capsule has to be retired because it isn't playing well with others, and I love the automatic backup it is providing for my MacBook. So, somehow, I need the Airport Time Capsule to work with the new WiFi card & drivers on my SP3, just like the SP3 is working properly with the Airport Express.Thanks for your input!

2. Completely agree!!! I did too and then I had to redo it because I couldn't install a driver. I had to start all over and reinstall Win 8 then Win 8.1 over it. It was a colossal waste of time and endless frustration. If I can just get it modestly working, I'll take it. It doesn't have to be perfect right now.
3. Great suggestion! And the Microsoft forums are also a buzz. One suggestion I tried (and it seems to be working) is to set a separate wireless network name for the 5ghz band. I haven't thoroughly tested it yet, but I'm hopeful. I t seems to have worked for some, but not others. The next thing I'll try is fixing the channel, but strangely, I didn't see that option in the AirPort Utility app on my iPhone. Is it only available through Mac/PC laptop/desktop software?
4. Yup. Sigh. I actually have an old linksys. I retired it when I went 100% apple. I was hoping that things would work smoother. And they did! Until this SP3 came into my life. Arg.

I'm wondering if it is the AC connection that is the issue. Maybe since the Express always connects with n, it is OK....
Nope. Just tested the SP3 again and it is maintaining it's connection to the AirPort Time Capsule utiling the 802.11a/n/ac mode and connecting to the 5Ghz special network name. So far so good... Fingers crossed... -
Brand new Surface Pro 3 with Office Prof Plus 2013
Just purchased today and brought home a brand new Surface Pro 3.
The first thing I needed for work, Office, and so I started to install, via USB DVD drive, the program Office Professional Plus 2013 - the fully loaded flagship version of Office that I purchased in March of 2014.
I was shocked that I am unable to install it. I first tried installing the 64-Bit Office version, since Windows 8.1 is 64-bit. Next I learned that I must uninstall the 32-bit trial versions of Office that came pre-loaded onto the Surface Pro 3. I even used
the Microsoft Office Fixit utilities and the Support descriptions of manual removal of previous versions of Office.Resetting the Surface Pro 3, uninstalling all Office products from it, and installing as 32-bit did not help either.
The errors I see are not describable, because nothing happens, the install just hangs with no messages. The machine keeps operating fine, but the Office installs do not work at all.
All of these efforts have only led to frustration.It appears to me that the flagship 2014 Surface Pro 3 and the Office Professional Plus 2013 (purchased only this Spring) are incompatible. This came as a great shock for me because in all my history of installing
current MS software on current systems, I have never had this problem. Maybe back in the days of Windows 3.1 it might have happened. Before I received your reply with detailed instructions I kept trying many other solutions .. eventually I made Office 2013 Pro Plus install, although I'm not exactly sure what ended up fixing my ability to install from DVD.
here's what I did:
1) I attempted to install Office 2013 Pro Plus after running Fixit Utility and again the clean boot, but those did not help. I received the same error message that I described (ie. no specific error coded message, only a message that Office 2013 Pro
Plus failed to install. After rebooting with the "clean" reset option , I noticed there was some of my personal setup information retained on the system (can't recall exactly what this was , but it was clear to me that the reset
did not make my system in pristine factory image). I discovered an even cleaner reset is the following to reset the Surface Pro 3 'absolutely' to factory image using a downloaded factory recovery image that is available here:

multiple wireless devices seemed to solve the problem. In other words, by being a heavy MS early-adopter, during Office 2013 Pro Plus install, I had a couple of MS devices, like Lumia phone, pc, etc.. all linked to the same wireless router
during my attempts to install to the Surface Pro 3. I have only a single MSN user ID and password for all the devices. I could be wrong, but this situation with shared wireless apparently can mess up the installs of Office 2013 Pro Plus- but often it
is disguised and murky because no error codes are generated. By turning off all the wireless connections except for the one connecting to the Surface Pro 3, I was AT LAST ABLE TO INSTALL OFFICE 2013.
In the end, I installed Office 2013 32 bit, but I really wanted 64 bit. I will try now and uninstall everything again. and then go for the 64 bit version.

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
