Installing elsewhere than c:\

Is it possible to install Any Adobe products elsewhere than on the C:\ drive? I'd like to install to and run Photoshop Elements 7 from an external hard drive, to free up space on my older Think Pad. I attempted this today and was never presented with any alternate installation location options.

Normally, the issue isn't the PSE executable files and catalog taking up space on your C:\ drive, as these don't take up a lot of space (much less than 1GB). The issue is usually the photos taking up space. The photos don't have to go on the C:\ drive, and if you don't have enough space for the PSE executables and catalog on your C:\ drive, then I can't see how your computer functions anyway. Furthermore, the catalog file itself can also be moved off the C:\ drive.

All versions of Photoshop get their fonts from your OS. Just install any missing font wherever Windows keeps fonts.
I don't do windows myself.

Can I install more than one configurator profile

I want to develop 3 or maybe 4 layers of iPad iOS8 restrictions & Passcode rules.
For example ALL iPads will have enforced Passcode rules, but only SOME iPads ill require content filtering & SOME require Control centre in lock mode.
The actual working groups of iPads require a lot more complicated set of config elements - above is only an example.
I'd like to create & install different profiles & INSTALL MORE THAN ONE PROFILE.
I have tested this on a few iPads & it seems to work.
My question is - Is this the recommended way / is there a problem if i install more that one profile ?

We install many configuration profiles on each of our devices. We only use one payload per configuration profile so that we can be very granular with our configurations. What I don't know is what would happen if you installed 2 configuration profiles with conflicting restrictions (i.e. one configuration profile allows Messages, and another does not allow Messages). We just make sure we install only one restrictions configuration profile, and then a bunch of other configuration profiles (mail and calendar settings, web clips, WiFi profiles, etc) on each device.

Glad the information was of some help.
For Windows, there is an older note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/28392">28392</a> that has some more information. It is important also that the SAP parameter PHYS_MEMSIZE is sized correctly according to note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/88416">88416</a> (the bottom of the note gives some examples). For example, if there were two central instances and the two Oracle database instances on one host, PHYS_MEMSIZE for both instance profiles (of the central instances) would be 35% of the RAM (1/2 of 70%). In the case of MSSQLSRV 2000, for PHYS_MEMSIZE you would refer to the scenarios of note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/327494">327494</a>.

I have to capture two RGB sources for identical treatment. Can I install more than on PCI1409 in one PC ? Is there a limitation of the number of cards ?

You can install multiple cards in a single computer. The main limitation is bandwidth of the PCI bus. I am not sure exactly what that limit is, but I don't think you would have any problem acquiring two RGB signals at normal rates.
If you have to process the images as you acquire them, you could run out of processing power, though.

Is it OK to install more than 1 version of JDeveloper ?

I am currently using two versions of JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 and 11.1.1.6.0 , the JDEV_USER_HOME for these two versions are set in two different directories also?
Now I have to use the Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.0 also.
Is it advisable to install more than 1 or 2 versions in a single JDEV_USER_HOME ? Or should I give some other path for that new install also?

I have 9-10 differen versions of JDeveloper (since 9.0.3 ) working at my compute with no problem. Some of them even share one and same JDK installation.
Hint: If you are the only user of your compuer, you can start JDeveloper with command-line option -singleuser. In this way the user's JDev system directory will be created within the JDev installation directory instead of within the user's home folder:
jdeveloper.exe -singleuser
Hint: If you need two or more JDev versions to be started and run concurently, you may have to specify different ports for the integrated WLS (if you develop Web applications) and start the integrated WLS).

How can I tell that an individual product is installed rather than being a part of Creative Suite?

When I inventory a computer's registry, how can I know that the individual product (such as PhotoShop CS5) is installed, rather than installed as part of the product suite, such as Creative Suite CS6?

"Install" rather than "Installed"

Several already installed Apple apps (iPhoto, OS X Lion, FaceTime) appear in my purchases list under "Install" rather than under "Installed". I have noticed the problem (bug?) only recently when using OSX 10.7.3. Do I need to re-install?

Install more than one exe into one folder or into some subfolders of the same folder

I want to do at least one of the following:
1. I want to install several exes (built with LV app builder) into one directory because they belong together.
2. Make several subfolders under the same top level folder aand install exes into each of them.
The (top level) folder should be the "company" folder. The subfolders are for the applications.
For example:
c:\company\app1\app1.exe
c:\company\app1\app1setup.exe
c:\company\app2\app2.exe
etc.
This may also reside under the "program files" folder.
If i try to do so, i encounter some problems setting up the build specifications. If i have more than one build spec. for exes i cannot add them to the same folder. At least if they contain the same external files, e.g. dlls.
If i try to make one installer per exe, i get an error message telling me that the same folder (my "top level folder") already exists in the registry and cannot be added a second time. This is also true if i try to make a new project instead of having several installer build specs in one project.
I use Labview 2009 (engl.) under Windows Vista (german).
If anyone has some help for me or encounters similar problems please let me know.

Hi Holger,
the build directories should be different for each build, but you can copy the executables into one folder manually (tested successfully in WinXP). For multiple installers, put each installer build in a separate directory, and install all to the same program files subfolder. Works with XP (tested!), so this must be a Vista issue...
Please build the four specs in attached project and run both installers to the same directory - should be working...

Why isn't Photoshop listed as "Install" rather than "Try"?

I had to uninstall Photoshop CC to try to fix a conflict with the latest Lightroom update, but when I opened my Adobe Creative Cloud panel to reinstall PS, the download option was labeled as Try rather than Install, as if I had to download a trial version. (Bridge was properly labeled Install and I successfully reinstalled it.)

try logging out of creative cloud and back in From preferences in the gear icon. The creative cloud app is quite flaky in my experience and often doesn't show what you have a license to install. Logging off and back in usually fixes it for me. If not quitting the app and restarting it and logging off and back in does the trick.

Can I install Leopard that's been installed elsewhere?

I'm looking to purchase Leopard on ebay. Obviously most of the seller's are selling their copy of Leopard that they've already installed on their computers. Is it possible to use install disks that have previously been installed and may be active on another's computer? I was under the impression there was a method of tracking which was developed to dissuade selling old software like this, no?

It is illegal to install on more than one CPU at a time. You also are likely to find that eBay items could be discs that came with a specific computer model and may not work on yours. OEM discs (have gray labels) are usually specific to the model with which they shipped.
Be legal. Buy your legitimate copy of Leopard from Apple Online or your local Apple retailer.

Installing more than official RAM

Whilst reading posts submitted here I see that the clever folks at http://www.everymac.com inform me that it's allegedly possible to install EVEN MORE memory than Apple officially say
But "bu*ger me if I can find how to do this considering it only has two slots. Am I missing a trick thinking that RAM only comes in 2/4/8/16 units..? Am I just being dumb..?
