Installing Epson P.I.M II Plugin To PS CS2 that is On Drive D

Hi,
I am hoping someone here can help me.
I just purchased an Epson Stylus Photo R800 printer and I tried to install the PIM II Plugin for Photoshop. This file contains the PRINT Image Matching (P.I.M.) Plug-in v2.2 for Adobe® Photoshop® and the ICC profiles for the Epson Stylus Photo R800.
Unfortunately there is no capability for me to set the installer to detect the drive where Photoshop is installed. I have it installed on Drive D instead of Drive C as my Drive D is bigger. It defaults to look on Drive C only (kind of silly!).
I called Eposon support and they said that they did not know how to remedy the issue.
So my question is does anyone know how I can install the Plugin and ICC profiles for the Epson from within Photoshop?
I unzipped the installation, but the .exe does not give me any option to select which drive to scan to look for Photoshop. I see CAB files and other stuff, but I am not so technical I could even begin to know how to decompress those and what to look for inside.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I got that PIM thing with my Epson printer.
As always, I tried first without it and found there was no need for it. The drivers are enough.
As a rule most stuff that comes with hardware, at least printers and cameras, is superfluous especially if you have Photoshop.

  • How to install Epson ICC profiles using Photoshop CC?

How to install Epson ICC profiles ussing Photoshop CC on Mac?

    Danny,
Just stop and think for a moment. Firstly, it's not Rocket science to produce an icc profile, and does not involve the profile having to physically 'fit' into a pre-formed item such as the razor blade analogy you used.
Secondly, If the likes of Epson and HP did produce printer profiles for all makes of paper, can you imagine how much more product they would sell. Printer companies are currently missing out on substantial amounts of income at the moment because the cost of their inks is more expensive than gold! Thus, the third party ink manufacturers - although not producing an ink as good as the original - are earning large sums of money and once again this is income loss to the major printer manufactures.  Can you imagine what would happen if certain vehicles would only run on  a specific fuel? I don't mean Diesel or Petroleum, but different manufacturers, Shell, Texaco, Murco etc.
At the end of the day the only person who is adversely affected by this business model is us, the consumer.
I really don't think they need you to be standing up for them Danny.

How do I install Epson Stylus C88+ printer?  Is it supported by 10.9.3?

    Hi Janet ...
There is a driver available for v10.9 Mavericks to download here >  http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=58602&BV_UseBVCooki e=yes&infoType=Downloads&platform=OSF_M_X9
After you download the driver, open System Preferences > Printes & Scanners then select the Print tab.
Then click ➕ to install the printer.

  • Unable to install Epson ICC printer profiles in Lion (access privileges message)

I upgraded to Lion and cannot install Epson ICC printer profiles. When I try to install, the installation is halted with the message that I do not have enough access privileges for this installation. Yes, I am the admin (I checked, as I know this is a known issue). I have the current updates to the O/S and the Epson driver. Specifically, these are printer paper profiles for an Espon Stylus Photo R2800 printer.

The ownership of the /Library/ColorSync directory and its contents changed in Lion.  You acutally do not have enough priviliges as admin to write to that directory anymore.  EPSON's installer does not have the ability to ask you for your password to escalate the admin privileges to root.  You should report this to EPSON and insist that they update their installer.
There is a way to get the files installed, but it is pretty involved.  I will give you the general idea but USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.  There is a risk you could break your system and make it unusable.
With those admonitions in mind, here's the general outline.
    1.  Go to /Library/ColorSync.  Highlight the folder and do a Get Info on it.
    2.  Under the Sharing & Permissions portion, give "everyone" the ability to Read & Write.  Then choose to have this applied to all enclosed items.
    3.  Run the EPSON installer(s).  The profiles will now install.
    4.  Change the ownership and permissions for all the installed items useing the Terminal--
For the EPSON folder the command is 'sudo chown -R root:wheel path_to_EPSON_folder'
For each and every item in the EPSON folder, the command is 'sudo chmod 644 path_to_item'
    5.  Open Disk Utility and Repair Permssions.

    Â Hi Senthil
The only way for you to get CR4E is to download it from our web site.
I just made a try, just to check if our web site was having any troubles today, and it worked fine, so I assume you might be experiencing some troubles on your side with your internet connexion.
I have successfully downloaded the All-In-One zip file of CR4E, that you can find there :

I suggest you give it some more tries.
    Thank you for using CR4E.

  • How to install Epson printer without software cd

I'm trying to install Epson ink jet printer with wifi without a software disc since I have a Mac mini without cd/dvd external unit. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Go to the Epson website and look up the appropriate driver for your printer and the OS your mini is using (appears to be 10.9) and follow the instructions......

  • Can't install Epson stylus 230 with Mountain Lion.

Everytime I go to install the software from the website, I'm being prompted that I'm not the Admin and to log in as such.  Well I am the Admin.  Contacted Epson support and they said its the OS. I've restarted and redownloaded the software several times but nothing works. Ideas?

Thank you for providing the information.  It certainly helps in trying to replicate what you are experiencing.  First, let me say that you really shouldn't have to download software from the Epson site.  The latest drivers would normally be pushed by Apple's Software Update.
If you specifically want the Epson Scan software, then you would have to get that from Epson.   I personally do prefer the Epson Scan software over the standard Image Capture software, but that is only my opinion.
ILn any event, I followed your directions.  I downloaded two files. The main printer drivers was a file epson14341.dmg and the Epson Scan software was epson14339.dmg.  I did get two prompts.  The first was to say I wanted to open the software downloaded from the web.  The second was a standard authentication for the installer.  Screen shots below.
Are you getting a chance to enter your username and password?  Can you post a screen shot of what is preventing you from installing the software?

  • Plugincheck no longer lists all my installed plugins, only shows ones that are updated.

Plugin check use to list all my plugins, by category. It would show unknown plugins, need to update plugins, and up to date plugins.
Now, it only lists up to date plugins. It does not list all the others

But in your System Details I see three plugins installed.
Maybe you are confusing plugins and addons, to see your plugins go to '''Tools''' >> '''Addons''' >> '''Plugins'''

  • Silent install EM 12c BP1 with many plugins

    Hi,
I want to silent install enterprise manager cloud control 12c BP1 with many plugins in linux64 , there are commands with parameters like
    ./runInstaller  -silent -responseFile $INS_DIST/response/new_install.rsp UNIX_GROUP_NAME=oinstall INVENTORY_LOCATION=$ORA_BASE/oraInventory ........
    PLUGIN_SELECTION={"oracle.em.secl","oracle.em.secs","oracle.em.sesy","oracle.em.soee","oracle.em.sidb"}
Parameter PLUGIN_SELECTION is used for plugin selection. I am sure that these values are correct and parameter usage is also correct, I follow the usage example in new_install.rsp.  But after installation, I check the plugin page in EMCC, only install one or two plugin, and sometimes not the plugin I specified in parameter PLUGIN_SELECTION. Very strange.
Does some one know why? need help~~~
    Thanks,
    Jing

-pluginLocation allows you to install additional new plugins that are not bundled with the EM binaries or were released/updated post EM release
PLUGIN_SELECTION option in rsp file is used for the installer UI (advance install) where you can pick and choose which plugins you want to deploy in EM, all these plugins listed in the ui are present in Disk1/plugin folder.
In short you need to use both the parameters, as only few plugins are updated post EM release.
Let me explain you another case with an example: If em 12.1.0.1 with bp1 have db plugin version 12.1.0.1, post release we updated the db plugin to version 12.1.0.2. In this case while installing EM silently, you need to first download db 12.1.0.2 plugin from OTN and pass this parameter- -pluginLocation so that EM can pick this plugin. In case in rsp file if you happen to provide PLUGIN_SELECTION={"12.1.0.1.0_oracle.sysman.db"} then we installer will always install the latest/highest version of plugin.
In short when both the parameters are used, installer will pick the latest version.
Example you asked- ./runInstaller -silent -responseFile <absolute_path>/new_install.rsp -pluginLocation <absolute_path>/plugins/12.1.0.5.0_oracle.sysman.vt_2000_0.opar
In your command the pluginLocation <absolute_path>/plugins/12.1.0.5.0_oracle.sysman.vt_2000_0.opar  is incorrect
