Installing error, desktop madness..

Ok This is it:
First, from 10.3.9 and Logic Pro 6.4 to 10.4.3 and Logic Pro 7.2 all of this on a G4 dual 800/1.2 GB Ram/Radeon 9200/2 monitors, etc...
When installing OSX Tiger, multiple error istalling...then after a while, success
Then when installing Logic 7.2....the same story, at the end I could finally install it.
When trying to istall the new FW inetrface (Digi 001 was no longer supported)
a famous FW410, G4 could never see it... Driver after driver installation and up-dated from M-Audio site....
Guess: FW ports are fried..!! OK, I bought a PCI FW/USB prot card...Nothing !!
Now I couldn´t even start the machine...OK format the HD... Nop...!
OK, new HD...from zero...all the way throughout the hole love-hate process
but now there is no way I can istall the Content CD from Logic (the black one)
nor the driver for FW410...all common tricks, with another computer, as disk image, you named it... Any Ideas.... They will be very welcome...
Thanks
Guillermo

This doesn't help. Don't know why. I tried adding it to path myself before. Your commands doesn't solve it either.
n0dix wrote:You need the following library: libXp
I will rather try this on a virtual machine, as it installs a lot of 32 libraries - I'm afraid I would mess things up.
A little update: I tried editing the path in the binary using bvi only to get another error on another line.
Is there anyone who succesfully uses Zimbra Desktop on 64 Arch Linux?

  • Desktop Manager Install Error 1904, nothing resolves...

I have been having the following problem the last few days.  On my work desktop (WinXP x64) I installed the DesktopManager software without hitch, but on my home desktop (WinXP Pro SP3) I also keep getting the error message:
Error 1904.Module C:...GW.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.
I am also getting the same error message for gwapi.dll, desktopsetup_pb.dll, and syncAE_pb.dll.
I am a very technical person so I had no qualms with trying the crackberry fix, but it didn't work.  I was able to register all of the modules after the reset, but when I would open up Desktop Manager it would never connect to my Curve 8320 vis USB or Bluetooth.  With Bluetooth it would recognize the phone and it would even pop up a message saying that it had "detected the device".  It would ask if I wanted to connect and I would say yes and then nothing would happen.  Another 30-60 seconds later it would pop up the same message saying it detected my Blackberry and asking if I wanted to connect.  After about the tenth time of this loop I closed out the Desktop Manager.  I uninstalled the software and deleted the program folders and then logged onto the "Administrator" account (my account is also an admin acct, but I logged onto the default admin account that is labeled "Administrator" by Windows).   Upon logging into this account, I attempted to upgrade the Windows Installer 3.1, but it told me that I have a newer version and couldn't do that (WinXP SP3).  So, I registered the atl.dll and tried installing the Desktop Manager software again (I'm installing v4.6 w/ Media Manager).  Once again I got the same error messages.  So I restarted and attempted to manually register the dll's again, and I'm now getting the error message:
    DllRegisterServer in gw.dll failed.
    Return code was: 0x80070005
So, to sum it all up, I've tried all six "resolutions" that RIM has at: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/articles/963/KB03928_f.SAL_Public.html, and the first "workaround."  The second "workaround" doesn't apply because there is no option to "ignore," there is only one button that is "Ok."  I'm starting to get pretty pissed off by all of this and I'm ready to throw the **bleep** Blackberry out the window.  I love the phone and it's capabilities, but if I can't use the capabilities then it's pretty much worthless to me... then I should have just gotten an iPhone or a WinMobile device.  It makes no sense to me that the software will install just fine on my WinXP x64 machine at work and not on my 32-bit home machine.  Usually it's the 32-bit progs on the 64-bit machine that cause problems.  When is a fix going to come?
    Here are my details:
    BB Curve 8320, OS v4.5.0.52 (Platform 2.7.0.66)
    DesktopManager Software v4.6 (w/ MediaManager)
    WinXP Pro, Service Pack 3
    Pentium 4, 2.80GHz
    2GB DD400 Dual-Channel RAM

I seem to still be having trouble. I cannot find a imgserv.nlm on the server. I believe that is what allows me to see what images are sent and received at the server console. I am wondering if everything loaded. Is there a way to test my installation or is there certain nlm's that I should look for?

  • Run time error '9' while installing BIP Desktop 10.1.3.4.1 for Windows

    Hi,
I've been getting 'run time error '9' Subscript out of range error while installing BIP Desktop.
I have MS Word 2003 and the laptop's OS is Windows XP SP3. I have searched the net and this forum for suggestions
and followed what was recommended (install .NET framework 2.0, make sure no MS Office processes are not running while
installing the software, Admin rights at Registry level on BI Publisher folder etc..) but no use.
This is a new laptop which I just received. On my existing laptop (which has similar configuration), I've installed BIP long time
ago and do not remember facing this error. If any one has come across this problem recently and was able to trouble shoot it,
please share with me how you were able to overcome the problem.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hello,
Since I haven't heard from any one, I have opened a service request with Oracle support.
Support recommended that I down load a desktop publisher from edelivery.oracle.com but even that didn't help.
    Will keep you posted.

  • Error 1327 when installing Palm Desktop 6.2 on Vista

    Hi,
When I try to install Palm Desktop 6.2 on my Windows Vista machine at work, I get
    Error 1327.Invalid Drive: H:\
when the installation program is doing its "Computing Space Requirements" phase.
As far as I understand, I need to use version 6.2 on Vista? But how can I install it if the stupid installer does this space check? I have no intention to install on H: - it should be installed on C:. I do have my Documents folder stored on H:, which is a network drive.
    Please help!

I am having the same problem. I plan on working with this tonight but so far the only solution I can think of is removing the network drive until install is complete, but I haven't even tried that yet.

  • Error when trying to install adf-desktop-integration.

    Hi,
I developed an integrated workbook using the ADF Desktop Integration technology (JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0, Microsoft Office 2007, Windows 7)
One of my users encountered an error when is trying to run the setup for the adf-desktop-integration.
The steps for his error are the following (he is using Windows XP and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007):
    - Enable .NET Programmability support from Office installation
    - Run the setup file for adf-desktop-integration. The following error appears in a popup:
The following solution cannot be loaded because Microsoft Office support for the .Net Framework 3.5 is not installed: adfdi-excel-addin-runtime.vsto.
    For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=135965
If someone else encountered this error and found a solution please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Alex.

    Hi,
The problem is that my user already have installed on his computer the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1.
In the section "3.5 Installing ADF Desktop Integration" from the link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E24382_01/web.1112/e16180/inst_conf_dev_env.htm#CHDHJIIG is specified that when the setup tool is run, the following software are installed:
    1. Windows Installer 3.1
This software I suppose is already installed or the setup tool managed to install it, otherwise I should have an explicit error.
    2. Microsoft .NET Framework
This software .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 is already installed.
    3. Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office
My user already has Visual Studio Tools for the Office system 3.0 Runtime
Now lets take a look on the same link at the section "3.2 Required Oracle ADF Modules and Third-Party Software". Because my users are using only the Runtime edition of ADF desktop integration they don't need JDeveloper or an Application server.
Taken in consideration the section "Installing the Runtime Edition of ADF Desktop Integration" from your link, my users are using the adfdi-excel-runtime-client-installer.zip (this file is provided by me and is taken from my installation of Oracle Middleware-11.1.1.4.0).
    Thank you,
    Darie.

I had this problem as well. I solved it by using an old Palm Desktop download instead of the one that Palm is providing now. My old copy was provided as a zip archive and the single file in the archive was named simply setup.exe. I guess the only difference between my old file and the file that Palm provides now has something to do with the installation software (it may be InstallShield; I don't remember for sure). In any case, if you are having this problem you might be able to find a usable file out there somewhere.

  • Error 1402 Installing Blackberry Desktop Software on Windows7

When i try to install blackberry desktop software 6.0.2 on my windows 7 computer i get the following error:
    Error 1402.Could not open key:
UKNOWN\Components\ a bunch of numbers and letters\ a bunch of number and letters
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I tried to find the key in regedit to change the permissions and I couldn't find it.
The first time i tried to install it i don't think I right clicked and ran as administrator. I have tried that since then, but I dont know if this old key is still whats stopping it.
I'm not really sure what do next.
    Thanks for the help,
    Dan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can solve this by running regedit and browsing to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components"
Then look for the first registry key indicated in your error. It would be the first string of numbers before a forward slash(/).
Then right click the key and select permissions.
In the dialogue box that opens make sure that "full control" and "read" are selected for your "User" and "Administrators" accounts and apply the changes (If "Administrators" and "SYSTEM" are not in the list then you will need to "Add" them).
Next click Advanced and enable the checkmark box named "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object", then press "Apply". You might get an error, thats ok.
Click on the Owner tab and select "Administrators" in the listbox, enable the checkmark box called "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" and press "Apply".
You'll need to repeat bullets 4 and 5 once more and you shouldn't get an error the second time.
Now you need to repeat the process for the second set of numbers which will be located inside the first key when you spin open it's arrow.
Hope this helps. I had the error popup on 2 different keysets. The third time I installed the software I had no errors.
    Good Luck,
    Hioctane

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I know that you've done some of this, but I nevertheless suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over (and you may need to do the risky things in step 2), and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Error - 1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time
Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines
    http://knowledge.macrovision.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108322&sliceId=1
When running into installation issues, it is always recommended that you use the latest InstallShield installation engines. This article contains steps on how to download and install the latest InstallShield engines for the installation version you are trying to install.
    What to do?
    Follow the Troubleshooting steps below:
Determine if the installation is compressed or uncompressed.
Launch Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows key + E or select Start > Run and type explorer.
Browse to the location of the installation files. For example, if the installation is on a CD, browse to the CD-ROM drive.
Search for the installation file. The typical names for installation files are setup.exe, update.exe, installer.exe, etc.
If the installation file is the only file in the directory (a single installation file), continue with the remaining suggestions in Step 1. Otherwise, if there are other files in the same directory as the installation file, continue to Step 2.
When a single installation file is run, it uncompresses the installation files into a temporary location (usually the Temp directory). Use these steps to find the installation in the temporary location:
Start the single installation file, but do not continue or cancel the installation dialogs.
Browse to the Temp directory. For further information on how to find the Temp directory, see Clean the Temp Directory.
Search for the installation file. The typical names for installation files are setup.exe, update.exe, installer.exe, etc. The uncompressed installation file should contain other files in the same directory. Continue with step 2.
Right-click on the installation file that you are trying to install and select Properties.
In the Properties dialog, click on the Version tab.
Look at the File Version field to determine the version number of the InstallShield engine you need. Follow the instructions for your version. If you started the installation in Step 1d, cancel it.
If the file version number is 2.0x or less:
Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine from the machine.
    Download IkernelUpdate.exe.
Once downloaded, double-click it. This installs the InstallShield engine for your installation.
If the file version number starts with 6:
Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine from the machine.
    Download IkernelUpdate.exe.
Once downloaded, double-click it. This installs the InstallShield engine for your installation.
If the file version number starts with 7:
Check if there is a file with a .msi extension in the same directory as the installation file.

Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\7 from the machine.
    Download ISScript7.zip.
Unzip this file. For more information on unzipping files, see How Do I Unzip a File in Windows XP? or How Do I Use the WinZip Utility in Windows 2000 or Earlier?.
