Installing ESX 2.5.5 - does install require licenses to allow power on of vms?
I am part of a DR exercise for ESX 2.5 installation. Question is whether ESX 2.5 requires serial numbers on install to allow power on of virtual machines?
Or does it allow time period where vms power on for trial period?
The ESX 2.5 admin doc says it must have licenses in order to power on vms.
Can the serial numbers of production ESX 2.5 be used for DR exercise, or is the serial tied to hardware. (I think it could be used.)

VMware even in the early days provided a 60 day evaluation license - this applies ESX 2.x and VC 1.x - the same limitations that apply today apply to the ESX 2.x once the eval period runs out - you will not be able to power on VMs -
the licenses are not tied to the hardware.-

I have a small query regarding the security flags of for LoginModule(s).
When a LoginModule is given a required flag, it allows the login mechanism to continue checking the other login modules. However, the overall login mechanism will fail even if one single module with the required flag has failed.
Can someone help me understand why is it so. The only reason i can think of is to allow some sort of debugging.

Thank you for your reply. I changed the error handling as you suggested on the 2nd lookup to redirect to unmatched rows. Now I get all greet. I don't have the conditional split as in your diagram. But also, nothing appears to have
happened in the DB. Aren't the rows in my text file supposed to be added to the FactCurrencyRate table?

OK, sorry I forgot to reply you back.
Conditional Split was just dummy task. Ignore it.
Manipulate the data in such way that you get matching records.
Inside Source, for first 2 rows I put the dates which are available in DimDate.

B. repair your drive from another hard drive also running latest OS X.
Sounds like your disk file system and directory are problem (the hard drive itself could be failing or have failed blocks too).

Trying to do a clean install from a USB flash drive and DVD. Same error each time at same location. (68%) I have removed all USB devices, Ran chkdsk and updated firmware on SSD.

'Windows cannot install required files' error while installing Vista SP1

I'm installing Vista Client SP1 on my Macbook pro and getting the following error:
Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
Almost exactly as described in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930984/ except my error code is 0x80070017. I'm double-checked CRC on my dvd to ensure it's not corrupt. Also I've previously successfully installed Vista SP1 from the SAME DVD on a different Mac Leopard (desktop)
Any ideas? This is a new Macbook pro, just got it yesterday. Could be DVD drive issue?

I'm attempting to install Windows 10 TP build 10041 [64-bit]
I am currently being prevented from installing by a "A media driver your computer needs is missing." error, which occurs fairly early in the process. I've interpreted further text in the message as a suggestion that it's a DVD, USB or some other
similar driver issue. However, as I've been able to attempt each install through booting from DVD and USB, I'm not convinced this is the issue.
I'm currently installing to a 128Gb SSD drive. I have installed Windows 10 TP on my laptop's SSD with no issues.
On a few occasions the installation has continue with the installation, and then failed at about 6% with the following error:
"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0x8007045D". I have not removed the installation USB or DVD.
I did not have this issue when installing build 9841, so am currently assuming this is an issue with build 10041.
Apologies if this query has been posed before, a search did not show up this issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I attempted removing/deleting partitions and formatting the SSD as part of the install process. I have also tried installing via USB and DVD with the same issues.
As part of the troubleshooting, I attempted to install a different OS. I was able to successfully install Linux Mint 17.1 with no issues. This further solidifies my impression this is an issue with Windows.
I will try a different USB port, appreciate the suggestion, didn't think it would make a different given the various methods already attempted.

Hi Gary. Extensions have to be written for the specific Photoshop versions they are designed to run on.and definitely don't all run on every version of Photoshop. You'd think that you'd be OK with that message, but it might be that it works fine on CS6 (13) but not on CC (14).
But it could be an error.
What is the extension you are trying to install? Is Photoshop, and Extension Manager fully up to date? If you are sure that the extension runs on CC, I'd try un installing, and reinstalling the Extension Manager. I have had to exactly that a while back.

Elements 10 won't finish installing. it says installing required shared technologies and wont go any

I tried installing elements 10 last night and part way through it just kept saying installing required shared technologies and stayed on that and won't go any farther. I've tried uninstalling it and starting over but it won't let me do that either. It says I need to finish installing what was already started. I'm very frustrated. Roland UM-ONE CD-ROM does not mount on iMac OS 10.8.2 Roland driver for 10.8 installed as directed. No power ready light shows when connecting UM-ONE. System Profiler shows it, but not configured. Older UM-1X works fine. UM-ONE works on Dell Windows XP.

Roland supplied CD-ROM does not mount or read by iMac OS 10.8.2, works with old TiBook and Dell laptop, however.
Got latest driver from RolandUS.com (um_1mx8d_v100), installed as directed.
No power ready light shows when connecting UM-ONE.
System Profile shows it there, but not configured.
With Audio MIDI Setup opened to MIDI Studio window, UM-ONE does not appear.
Tried many things without success. Tried swapping UM-1X (formerly on Dell laptop) with UM-ONE. UM-ONE installed and worked there without any issues. MIDI instrument communicates fine.
The UM-1X works without complaint and as expected when connected to any USB port on either the Dell or iMac, even a hub or keyboard port, just as it formerly had before changing operating systems, etc. It is old, but reliable.
Upshot is, for now, that UM-1X works with either the Dell or the iMac, but is currently attached to the iMac. UM-ONE (2011 model) only works with the Dell (Windows XP).

After installation of ANM 2.0 and got a demo license I don't know how to install it. The path /opt/CSCOcbt/httpServer/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/lic does not exist, and the install program /opt/CSCOanm/bin/anm-license gives error: Error: MAC address of license does not match MAC address of eth0.
Is there someone out there who has a clue?

Did you enter the correct MAC address of ETH0 when requesting the demo license?
"Please enter below the 12 digits of the MAC address of Ethernet Interface 0 (eth0) of the server hardware on which you will be installing your Cisco Application Networking Manager software. The following command can be executed on your server to provide you with the required information.
command> /sbin/ifconfig eth0 | grep -i hwaddr | sed 's/://g'
response> eth0 Link encapEthernet HWaddr 00C09F6063D0
In the above example, the required MAC address to enter here is:00C09F6063D0"
If this is not correct, you should open a ticket
