Installing .exe files?

Is it possible to install .exe files on my MAC? There are a couple of programs that are designed for Windows (Why, I shall never know) that I very much need to run but cannot find Mac versions of. Is there some software I can get that will allow me to run these programs?

I've had luck on occasion with decompressing and then using .exe files using Stuffit Expander.
That's only because it was a .zip file converted to a self extracting archive. An .exe file is normally a program in Windows.

What you've been told is roughly right, except that, even if you had the source code, it would not necessarily be possible to compile it under Mac OS X.
There is, however, a rare special case. That is when the .exe application is actually a self-expanding Zip archive; ie, a compressed archive to which the code necessary to expand it has been added. The code itself would not run under Mac OS X, of course, but you could extract the content of the archive by using an application such as Zipeg, or after changing the filename extension to .zip.

They will not work on a PowerBook unless you have an appropriate Windows PC emulator, such as Virtual PC on the machine, which BTW runs very slowly on my TiBook so I don't use it very often. Run Windows or find a Mac version of the software or buy a Windows computer.

VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. Symbian uses the SIS format for package installation, EXE is not supported. Further I really doubt this software is any good, the software previews on you link just show pictures from VLC Player and there is no other option on this page than to download an .exe. I'd rather not get in touch with this.
When it comes to AVIs i think you have to convert them first before you can watch them on the nokia.

Can't install drivers for Sound Blaster Live! No ctzapxx.exe file

As above, I had to reboot my system and used a disk eraser as I wanted a clean slate. So obviously I have to reinstall the drivers for diff things such as sound card, USB 2.0 card etc. Everything goes fine until I get to installing the drivers for the Sound Blaster Li've!?I inserted the disc and installed the drivers, then I restarted Windows as requested. When it loads back up it'sdetects the sound card and trys to install the driver, but it can not find the driver anywhere, not on the PC or on the CD. the unipack download from creative will not work. first, try asking around if somebody else has the same 5. creative card as yours. the only solution for your problem is to use the installation cd that came with your creative card. I lost mine so i went to a pc repair shop and inquired if they have a copy of such cd - they normally do.
. you need to remove all the programs concerning creative from add remove programs. 2. shut down, and remove the sound card. 3. turn the pc on and let windows boot normally. install the the softwares and drivers using the cd that came with the box. 4. shut down and install the sound card 5. turn on the pc. windows will find a new hardware and will find the right drivers bec you have previously installed them. How do I bundle my .java file as an .exe file to install from cd-rom

I have written a simple java application that I would like to lauch from cd-rom. I would like it to do the following:
1)Install the application to be ran locally on a client machine.
-OR-
2)Run the application from the cd-rom.
I think my code would have to be bundled and stored as an .exe file, but I'm not sure. I can not find any info on how to do this, so any direction would be greatly appreciated. Please explain in detail if you can, I am still new to this. Thanks!

How do I install Photoshop from the .exe files I got from Adobe?

I downloaded Photoshop CS2 from Adobe's site. That download gave me 5 .exe files, including CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe.
When I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe, files were extracted and installation began. I put in my serial number and other information, and things seemed to be going fine. Then a window popped up with the message "Please insert Disk 2." Well, I don't have a Disk 2.
My download included a file "CS2_install_Win.pdf." In those instructions, it says "the InstallShield wizard may return an error, "Please insert disk [ number ]." If this error occurs, click OK in the dialog box and then double-click the disk image to which the installer refers to manually extract the disk and complete the installation." So, I clicked on CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe, which overwrote the extracted files from CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe. But the box saying "Please insert Disk 2" didn't go away. No matter how many times I clicked "OK" it just stayed there.
Still, CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe ran, and when it was done I got a message that installation was complete. But, when I tried to run CS2, I got an error that my serial number and organization were invalid or not installed properly. I know they were installed because I put them in when I ran CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe
So, given that following the pdf instructions that came from the download don't seem to work, can anyone out there offer me better instructions on how to do this installation? I was thinking of extracting each .exe file to a CD, then just inserting those CDs one at a time. Will that work?

Missing personalization infopoints to permissions/ user privileges issues which are to be expected with such old versions on contemporary operating systems. Run as admin, turn off security stuff, try compatibility modes. Actualyl burning the discs will of course work, but you might look into simply mounting folders/ disc images as virtual drives e.g. using Daemon Tools Lite or your disc burning software's own disc mounter.

Sounds like you have a Volume License of Windows that was downloaded from Microsoft.
You should be able to unzip the .exe (yes, I know it sounds incorrect, but the .exe is a self-extracting archive) using unzip command in terminal or you could try renaming the .exe to .zip, then unzipping it. Never tried it using your specific file, but it is worth a shot.
Try Googling "Extract .exe on Mac" if you need clarification.

No. You would require a PC in order to run the executable which is an installer, not a disc image or an archive.
