Installing external Vst or Au plug ins

How do I install my external Vst and Au plug ins so I can use them in my peak pro 5 program. Jay Angel

Everything in logic should be in place, but still i
can not get the audio units into the program. I find
all of the integrated logic au plug-ins in the insert
slot, but non of the one I have added to the system.
Which plugins,exactly?
The au and vst do not appare at all.
Logic is AU-only.You will not see any VST plugins.Ever.
When I run the AU manager, both external programs and
the logic AU manager, it finds every plug in, and
lists them as validated.
I find myself lost, and ask now for help. What might
the problem be..
Again,which plugins? And do you know that upgrading to 10.4.9 might be causing the problem?
And also,are you on an Intel or a PPC mac? tat makes a huge difference.
I run the program with a akai-mpd24 and a m audio
oxygen interface, soundcard: maudio firewire 410.

I´m going to reinstall them again and I´m wondering if there is anyway of erasing the links to the plug-ins under "photo" and "edit in" ???

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

The newest version of Flash Player won't install on my Mac! Plug ins not working now!

Anyone else having this problem???? I downloaded the "latest version" yesteday. Now I can't run Iheart radio/pandora/Jigidi puzzles without it saying it can't because of "plug ins".

Installing Fx Factory Core Melt Plug Ins

I'm trying to use some plug ins from Core Melt (Image Flow FX) on photos. This is the first time I've used any type of plug in for a project. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to install these things! I've searched on the product website and support forums and can't tell what I need to do.
The installer package does not put anything into my application support/plugins folder -- and after running the installer package there are no plug ins available in FCP under the video generators tab.
Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Hi sorry for the confusion, you need to first install FxFactory, then the plugins will appear.

How to really install GEF, EMF and VE plug-ins in Eclipse manually?

Hello!
If someone works with Eclipse, please, help me.
I want to install the Visual Editor for Eclipse (VE) manually, not by the Eclipse Update Manager. But before I do that I know I have to install GEF and EMF. So, I downloaded the versions that are compatible with my version of Eclipse (Eclipse 3.1RC1). The versions are (according to the VE site - www.eclipse.org/ve):
EMF build I200506091102
GEF Build 3.1RC1
VE 1.1M2
In my computer the Eclipse is in Program files\eclipse. So, I extracted the GEF zip file in Program files as the documentation says, looked at the directory and the files were really extracted to there. So, I opened Eclipse and checked in Plug-in Details if it was installed, but it wasn't. I did the same with EMF and I got nothing too.
What am I doing wrong? How can I install these plug-ins manually?
If someone can help me, I would appreciate a lot.

If eclipse itself is stored in /foo/eclipse, the plugins need to be extracted and
installed in /foo/eclipse/plugins. Then start (using a shell/command line
interpreter) eclipse as follows: "eclipse -clean". This flag forces eclipse
to (re)check what plugins are installed.

I installed Firefox5 and now mt plug ins don't work. I want to go back to FF4 - how can i do this?

I use property bee and the valuations tool bar all the time. When I upgrade to Firefox 5 I did not realise that these would no longer work. I need these so i want to go back to the previous version of firefox - it worked just fine! how can i do this?

If they worked in Firefox 4, there's a really good chance they will still work in Firefox 5.
Extensions for Firefox include a list of compatible Firefox versions. You can ''ignore'' add-on version restrictions by (what else) installing an add-on. Then you can test whether the add-ons important to you actually work in Firefox 5.

Adobe flash player 10.3 is installed but doesn't appear in plug-ins:what else do I need to do to play videos?

Until a few months ago I was able to play videos in e-mails on my desktop computer, running on windows XP, through Verizon FIOS. Then I kept getting the message that I needed Adobe Flash Player 9.0. I have downloaded the latest version, Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.1, several times, getting the message from Adobe that I am now running that program. However, when I try to play a video, I still get the message that the the plug-in isn't installed, and the table of plug-ins doesn't include Adobe Flash Player. Is there something else that must be done to make the (presumably) installed program active? If so, what is it?

Installing third-party plug-ins...

I just recently installed Waves v. 5 plug-ins on my system, in hopes to use them with Logic Express (7.2). I opened up Logic, but it does not recognize the plug-ins - they are nowhere to be found! I click on the "Inserts" slot in the mixer window, but the only plug-ins found are the pre-installed ones - no Waves.
They definitely are installed on my system, but Logic does not see them. Can anyone help?

Make sure you have the latest version of Waves and that there the Waveshell-AU.component file there: Library/Audio/PLug-ins/Components

Why won't Quicktime 7.2 work even after installing plug-ins?

After initially installing Quicktime 7.2, a faint question mark would appear instead of internet videos which required quicktime. I installed one kind of plug-in, but this only fixed it for a little while. Then I installed a bunch of other plug-ins hoping that this would fix it but it only fixed it for a while as before. How do I resolve this problem? I have a mac and mac osx 10.4.10 and use Firefox for internet browsing. And, how do I even tell where my plug-ins are? Thanks!

Make sure you have the latest versions of Adobe Flash Player Software
QuickTime Preferences > Advanced > MIME Stettings > Miscellaneous.
Deactivate the "Flash Media" option.
This tells the browser not to to display Flash Media and lets the newly installed Adobe software work its magic.

If you actually know the names of the plug-ins, you can use Spotlight to locate or you can manually check the following folders:
HD>Library>Internet Plug-Ins
Home>Library>Internet Plug-Ins
HD>Library>QuickTime

Titan Eclipse plug-ins released in open source

we are happy to announce that the source code of Eclipse plug-ins, after being migrated to ANTLR 4, has been released in github, see https://github.com/eclipse/titan.EclipsePlug-ins,
together with a number of new test ports and protocol modules.

, and it contains all external dependencies of the plug-ins not available in Eclipse directly (not part of an Orbit package).
It is a zipped update site, which , when downloaded , can be unpacked and used as a local update site to install the plug-ins.
With this, the open sourcing project of Titan can be considered completed.
Eclipse Titan consists of the compilation and execution environment, including native codecs for BER , generic binary, generic text, XML, JSON,
plus a number of utilities for log handling, XML schema conversion etc. (see https://github.com/eclipse/titan.core);
the afore-mentioned set of Eclipse plug-ins (Designer to assist in developing TTCN-3 code; Executor to control execution from Eclipse;

Not aware of any open source plugins, though there are lots of sample in the SDK and online from others.
Be aware that Acrobat 8 is no longer supported by Adobe (as of November 3rd).

Fcp looking for non-existent plug ins

i installed some demo audio units plug-ins a while back and didn't like them so i deleted them.
i just had to re-install FCP and now, every time i launch, it looks for each and every one of the audio units. i have to click cancel like forty times to start the program. i've thrown away my prefs, reinstalled the prgram, thrown away all the install receipts, made sure the audio untis are gone etc. I also use Logic Pro as well (that's what the audio units were originally intended for)

Why does my Extras window keeps asking me to reload the Firefox window and not uploading my new plug ins even after I've reloaded it already?

I have installed new versions of my plug ins and reloaded the Firefox page, but I noticed one of them wasn't working (the United States English Spellchecker 5.0.0) so I reinstalled it and rebooted the page once again. But it's not working and no matter how many times I reboot the page, it still asks me to do it. What can I do to solve this problem?
This is the first time it has happened.

This can happen if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt. Try deleting those files as shown in the corrupt extension files section of the [[Unable to install add-ons#Corrupt extension files|unable to install add-ons]] article.

AE CC & missing plug ins?

Maybe this is a stupid question but I just installed AE CC and my plug ins are not showing up. Namely: Trapcode Suite 12.1. What should I do? Thank you.

Just as the move from CS5.5 to CS6 used a different installation folder and different plug-in folder, AE CC uses a new plug-in folder. AE CC won't look at the old CS6 plug-ins folders to load plug-ins.
The best way to ensure your plug-ins are installed in the correct location is to run the latest installer for each set of third-party plug-ins. Some 3rd-party plug-ins vendors may still be in the process of rolling out new installers. In that case, Todd's solution on the blog provides a workaround.

I got downloaded Oracle Migration Workbench for evaluation. I have installed it.
It requires plug-ins which support specific other than oracle databases.
When I consult the documentation, I have found the following information about
downloading plug-ins at the link given. I haven't found any plug-ins there. I have searched
for those in the site. where can I get plug-in's?
Each plug-in available to you is database specific and extends the Migration Workbench to support the migration of a specific database to Oracle. After installing the Migration Workbench you must then install the plug-in for the database you want to migrate. By default, you download the Migration Workbench without any plug-ins. You can download the appropriate plug-ins from the Oracle Technology Network Web site at:

Ai CS6 continues to not work- additional problem with plug-ins.

These messages came up while trying to open these two files. They open after clicking OK, but the applicaion bar is completley blank and with no tools showing.

Watch Illustrator as it boots to see of if initialzing plug ins is showing, or if it acts as if shift is being held down and boots really quick (most your keys commands would not work then).
Applications >> utilities >> disk Utility >> repair Permissions.
Reset your prefs: immediately after booting Ilustrator, hold down 3 keys: shift, command, opt
Go to applications >> Illustrator 6 >> Plug ins >> Illustrator Filters (is offset path there?) if not you may have something wrong with your install and many of your plug ins may be missing. The plug ins mentioned are mostly in 3 of the folders.
Check that your plug ins don't say somehting liek size is 0k. Here is the info for my plug in.
