Installing Facebook for BB

I HAVE A QUESTION, IM INSTALLING FACEBOOK FOR BLACKBERRY, BUT THERE WAS A PROBLEM DURING INSTATLLATION, I TRIED WIPING ALOS REINSTALLING EVERYTHING, BUT IT DOESN'T WORK
[edited title to reflect content]

I upgraded today to Facebook 3.2.0.12 and after rebooting I got the message: 'Uncaught exception: java.lang.Error'. I found a suggestion which advised to reinstall the OS. So I suggest you follow my  OS update procedure  because this is also effective if one has the AW icon not working error:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Torch/Upgraded-App-World-on-BlackBerry-9800-Not-La...
Ever since I installed new App World versions like 3.1.2.32 or 3.1.4.25 on my Torch 9800 the AW  freezes, i.e. once in while after rebooting  the AW icon just looks pretty, i.e. if one  opens the 'Switch Application screen' the icon sits there and brings up the home screen when clicked but nothing else is happening.
Anyhow, I reinstalled the current OS software once more to get rid off the java error and the Facebook icon reappeared and all is good.
The above link assumes all data and apps are present but only a reinstallation of the OS device software for your phone is required. If this fixes your Facebook app let us know or select ‘Like’ on this box.

My friends in India, Newzealand and few more other countries are also experiencing the same problem. Hope it will be sorted out by Apple very soon.

  • Facebook for S40v5

    I have a Nokia 6303 Classic.
Once upon a time I installed Facebook for it through Ovi Store.
I since updated the firmware on my phone, and the Ovi applications dissapeared, and since then I haven't been able to find Facebook under Ovi Store - it seems to only exist for S60 phones.
What ever happened to the Facebook app for my phone?
    Regards
    Kasper

  • Unable to log into Facebook for BlackBerry 10 since last year

Please help me understand why the facebook app for BlackBerry 10 doesn't allow me to login at all. See the attached screen shot which may not successfully load (error message reads as follows "sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later), I haven't had the chance to even submit my login credentials. This has happened every single time I click the app for several months now.
Bought my Z30 last year summer/ fall and love it except for the lack of app selections.
However no luck even after the two BlackBerry 10 OS updates to 10.2.1 and the last two Facebook for BlackBerry 10 updates to 10.4.0.12. Un-installing, re-installing, deleting from phone and also removing from My BlackBerry World account did not work.
I have no problems logging into the facebook app made for iPhone, iPad. I'm able to login into my Facebook on Mac computer. Windows computer and even on the BlackBerry browser.
I have already exhausted my options with hours on the phone with tech support at Phone company.
I am hoping I can get some help without having to wipe my phone completely or having to send it into the phone company.
In addition, they will give me a loaner which so far I'm told all their stores only have z10 and no Z30s to give me while my Z30 will be in for repairs.
Any useful advice would be appreciated. Please read the above in its entirety before responding so you will know what I have already done.
    Thanks in advance.

Photoshop.com is gone. If you had photos stored there, you should have received a series of emails about their being moved to Revel. You can't sign in because there's nothing to sign in to.

hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!
iv unistalled flash, iv checked plug ins it just wont work,

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Find friends from the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones Application

I cannot seem to get this to show up on my FB Page although my wife with a 8330 had no issues and we downloaded and installed same time same way.   Anyone have any clue as it should be on the FB Page and I know it is linked

    HI,
The link contains not only the setup articles but links to the error conditions and resolutions.
One question, have you upgraded the TOUR or did you load your application data from the previous phone to it.
Check the following. At the home screen, select options, advanced options, applications, check that only one version of
Facebook is loaded, and that it is version 1.6.0.21

  • Installing Facebook displays my Dad's photo in iMessage.

When installing Facebook on my iPad (rather than just logging in via the app) it suddenly displays my Dad's photo as mine in iMessage.
I bought him his first iPod and I registered my iPad to his account when we first bought Apple products. He just bought me the the iPhone 5 and may have registered that to his account as well.
We have different email addresses to log into Apple and different payment methods now so how do I separate us so that I am recognised as me and not him?
I am looking to get an iMac and want to iron out any problems beforehand.
    Please help...

  • I installed Facebook from the app store on my iPad and it kicks me out

I have installed Facebook on my iPad and when I scroll down the page to look at posting it
KIcks me out or if I share a photo it kicks me out
    Can anyone help

    Hello sandyfromcroydon,
It seems you are unable to post photos using the Facebook app on your iPad. Have you checked your photo privacy settings at any point? Take a look at the following article which explains the privacy controls, and where you can find them:
Understanding privacy and Location Services on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 8 - Apple Support
    Privacy controls in iOS 8
iOS 8 gives you control over which apps have access to information stored on your iOS device. For example, you can allow a social-networking app to use your camera, allowing you to take and upload pictures. You can also grant access to your contacts, so a messaging app can find any friends that are already using the same app.
You can modify privacy settings at Settings > Privacy. You can select a type of data from this list to see which apps have asked for permission to use that data. An app won't appear on the list until it asks permission to use your data. You can add or remove permission from any app that has asked for access to data. An app can use your data only if you have given it your permission.
If you allow third-party apps or websites to use your data or your current location, you're subject to their terms, privacy policies, and practices. You should review the terms, privacy policies, and practices of the apps and websites to understand how they use your location and other information. Information Apple collects will be treated in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
