  • Can't install Flash Player (stupid ActiveX!)

I can't install Flash Player or Macromedia Player on my
computer. The problem came out of nowhere. We seem to have no
viruses. We go to the adobe site to install it, but after we click
the install button, a little message shows up, asking to install
it, and then something about ACTIVEX. I'll go more into detail if
you think you know what the problem is. Help as soon as possible.
    Thank you! Lacey

I couldn't resist being the first to reply to your post...
and let me warn you now: You may get a bunch of nasty comments from
others that forgot what it was like to learn the ins-and-outs of
    computers....
What you described happening in your post is 100% NORMAL.
After you click that INSTALL button, your Internet Browser (I'm
assuming Internet Explorer) SHOULD ALWAYS confirm that you trust
the person/site/company that is about to install software on your
computer... that "little message" you saw is your confirmation that
you REALLY want this installed.... if so, you will click that
"little message" and then click "Install ActiveX control"
(sometimes this same thing will occur on various websites but
instead you will see a "little message" about an ADD-ON...
generally speaking, its the same thing).
Basically, ActiveX & Add-on's are programs that work with
other programs already installed on your computer; in this case
Adobe Flash Player working with your internet browser.
The whole reason behind the that "little message" is to
prevent websites from installing programs on your computer without
you knowing it.... you don't always have to click an "Install"
button for a website to attempt to send you a program! Makesure
when you see that message you know exactly what your installing and
WHY. There are alot of sites out there that will try to install
ActiveX/Add-on's that jepordize your entire computer (viruses,
    spyware, keyloggers, etc.).
So go ahead... click install and then click install
ActiveX... this site can be trusted to install. :)

  • Trying to find the URL used when installing Flash player via ActiveX pop-up

I'm trying to determine what URL would be used when a customer clicks on the Activex Pop-up to install Flash player.
I've found a document that indicates the URL used when updating Flash Player via the Auto updater, but I think they are different URLs....  Can anyone help?

    thanks guys for the replies.
Just to clarify, I am in no way having troubles installing Flash player.  I'm a tech specialist, and have been for many years.  I am fully able and aware of how to update Flash player.
What I am trying to get is the URL that would be used when a client click on the "Install Adobe Flash Player" ActiveX Pop-up.
thanks for the URLs you sent, and I do have those, I'm just wondering if any can confirm "as for sure as possible" what URL is used with that ActiveX Pop up.
Our corporate has several web-based products that do NOT work with th emost recent version of Flash Player.
We are trying to find all possible Flash Player installer URLS that are used, so we can block them on our Proxy server.
Thanks again for everyone's reply, and if anyone knows for sure the info I need, please let me know

  • Installed Flash Player 12 ActiveX not recognised - Windows 7 & Internet Explorer

On 2/5/2014 I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 12 ActiveX for the 4th time and yet the system is giving me an error message saying "You're mission the video converter tool."  I have a HP Windows 7 system.  Back in October, I was able to use the Internet Explorer, go to the website CWtvnow and watch The Vampire Diaries online.  But, my system went thru an automated system update on its own and since then I have not been able to watch videos on the internet using Internet Exployer.  I'm tired on downloading the Adobe software and still not working.  I am not a PC expert, but where ever drive the software is being downloaded to, its not functioning.  HELP

When you uninstall and reinstall, it is always worth running the Cleaner Tool in between.

  • Error code 1605 when installing Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 11.9.900.152

Hi there everyone, this is my first post over here.
I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find a 1605 error code linked with Adobe Flash.
I'm working on a project to fix Adobe Flash installation failures. The current error i'm stuck on is 1605
The installs and uninstalls are already packaged, i only have around 5 failures so far, we have many successful installtions so I know the package isn't corrupt.
Here is the installation log file

I see a differen't product code getting removed on other machines and that's prob because they had a different version of flash installed.
I was however able to install adobe flash versions 11.8 and below successfully, it's just versions 11.9 that fail.
Any advice will be greately appreciated, thanks

Hey the cleanup method didn't work.
However, i could  get the latest flash installed without the package, for some reason it keeps failing with the package. Version 11.8 and  under installs with the package.
I know the package works because we've used the same package for thousands of other machines and they've worked.
    This is an interestin issue

  • I recently installed Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX--11.4.402.265 and when I open My Mozilla Firefox browser I keep getting this message flashing on my screen: '

I recently installed Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX--11.4.402.265 and when I open My Mozilla Firefox browser I keep getting this message flashing on my screen: 'Adobe Flash Player 11.4 r402 has stopped working" and then "Windows is checking for a solution"
This flashes a few times then usually stops but not always.
It happens every time I try to open a new page.
I fixed this problem by uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 11 and installing Adobe Flash Player 10.3. However, now my IE browser wants me to install Adobe Flash Player 11 again. Although I don't use my IE browser frequently, I DO have to use it sometimes. Will there be an update to Firefox 15.0 to correct this issue?

Thank you, your solution worked great.

  • Cannot install Flash Player ActiveX plugin

It's very interesting that I am able to install Flash Player for Mozilla but not for IE (ActiveX). As I'm a web site designer, I need to surf my design at different browsers to ensure compatibility. I tried many of solutions (such as uninstaller, reset_fp10, ccleaner, registry cleaner) but still not work. I hope the attached install log file may help to find out what's wrong and the solution.
    Joe

Hello, I did not look at the install log. However, the first thing you want to do is go to add/remove and find out what of Adobe is listed there.
When Adobe Flash Player 10 is installed and is listed in Add/Remove is says: Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX.
List everything that is Adobe in Add/Remove
Next list each add on that is in Manage Add/Ons and whether it is enabled or disabled.
You need to know what you have before you do anything else.
(I use an 8 year old Dell, running XP3 with IE 6 and I have never used registry cleaners or anything of that nature. I keep Windows updated and never once has Microsoft told me I needed to use a registry cleaner because I've installed an update or an upgrade. I was told long ago to leave the registry alone and have done so. This is just my opinion. I am not a programmer and would never do anything with my computer that I have no knowledge of. )
Sometimes users go where angels fear to tread so to speak with their computers.
Let's see what you have installed and what add/ons you have and go from there.

Flash Player on IE10 for Windows 8 is delivered by Microsoft; use Windows Update to obtain the latest Flash Player version.

    Adobe http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html states
“Note: Release builds of Flash Player for Windows 8 are a part of the Windows 8 update”
So we cannot push flash directly, rather it is included in WSUS.
This is nice, but we have an application that crashes in IE 11 unless we use the Flash install from the Adobe site.
We have contacted the application vendor, but systems are down now.

  • After installing Flash Player 11.8, other ActiveX controls prompt to reinstall

I'm on Windows7 64-bit using IE9.  After installing the new Flash Player 11.8 on 8/5/2013, other ActiveX controls prompt to be reinstalled repeatedly.  I tried disabling the Shockwave Flash Object add-on and also tried uninstalling Flash Player, no change.
I then uninstalled IE9 and reverted back to IE8.  Everything was fine until the Flash Player 11.8 installed and then same problem in IE8 with getting ActiveX controls reinstalling again.
I reinstalled IE9, but still same issue so it has not reset anything after going up to IE9 again.

    Hello Comvel.
    RE:
    Hello,
    i haven't fixed it yet.
I've deployed the last few version of flash player without any problems.
I haven't found any new things in the admin guide.
The plugins don't show up in both browsers. I can't enable them.
On the most importent clients, i've installed flash player manually.
I know it has been a few months since your post but, I was wonderingif you were able to find a solution for this that didn't involve manual installations. I've recently deployed 11.8.800.175 and am running into the same problems. Some work stations are just fine. But others, (both windows 7 and xp, all IE8) are not working. When navigating to a site like youtube, theres a banner that says update is needed. When you go to manage add-ons there is no shock object/add on.

  • Is Flash Player 14 ActiveX Installed on 16 JUN 14 really 6MB?

Flash Player 14.0.0.125 has just installed OK but W7's Programs and Features says Flash Player 14 ActiveX Installed on 16/06/2014 is 6MB. My notes record it has been saying this since 12 APR 13. Surely some mistake?
