  • Installing FLash player (and Creative cloud)

I am having trouble with Flash player and creative cloud. Most recently I have tried umpteen times to install Flash player and it wont work. I have run through uninstalling it. re installing it. ensuring it is enabled. and nothing. i have established that i DO have the current version on my computer through the \app\ through your website...its the 11.9 version. but when I try to use FB to upload photos, it says i have to install the latest version of flash.
I have also had the same issue with CC. I have a subscription and i have downloaded the desk top app, but I cannot see or access it. I have it listed in my control panel, under programs...but cannot see it anywhere else.
What else can I do? I am so frustrrated. mostly with these adobe products - they just dont seem to 'stay' on my comp. LR and PS both work - downnloaded from CC...but nothing else really!?
    Thanks so much

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11 (which I can only assume you're using because this is where the FB problems occur), which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Videos stopped playing... I get a black screen then plays for a few seconds and freezes.  Have downloaded the latest Adobe flash player and it did not help.

Videos stopped playing correctly.  Now I get a black screen, then a few seconds of video and it freezes.  I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash player
and it did not change anything.  Thanks for your help. CP

One of the following steps should help.
    1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced >  Delete  All
         Press the "Delete All" button
         Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
        Quit Safari.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Web Content:  > "Enable Plug-ins".
           or
        Internet Plug-ins >  "Allow all other plug-ins
    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.
         http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box beside
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
    4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes beside all items.
Check the box beside "Remove all website data".
        Click "Reset".
    5. Turn off Extensions, if any.
        Safari > Preferences > Extensions
         Now try YouTube.
    Best.

  • What do I do when I install Flash Player and it's not installed?

All of a sudden my laptop didn't have adobe, so I went to install it again. I am Stuck in a loop though. I go to the support page. It says to check if I have Flash Player and I do not, so I go the next step of installing it. I go through the whole installation and it says finish and takes me to the step three page (the website). I wanted to see if it worked, so I clicked to return to previous page. I clicked on the button to check if I had Flash Player and it says no again. I really  want to watch Hulu. Can anyone help me out? I've had adobe for years and this just newly happened. Quite frustrating.

    What OS?
    What browser?
Without this basic information, we're completely in the dark.

  • Installing Flash Player... Please Help

    Hi,
I continue to have difficulty installing flash player on my computer and am out of ideas.  I'm running Windows 7 on my computer and have tried installing flash player for both Internet explorer version 9 and firefox version 10.0.2.  In both situations I have previously been able to download the installation ".exe" file successfully but once I try to complete the installation I can only get to 12% completion before it either times out or I get an error message saying "cannot contact reliable source".  I have researched both issues through the forums and tried the various solutions out there currently, including downloading from the adobe labs and running the uninstall program.  I am not able to download the uninstall at all (again both in internet explorer and firefox and from the various sources posted throughout the forums).  I have also checked my host file to confirm that I do not have anything blocking adobe downloads and have tried disabling my firewall to see if this would allow the installation to complete, again to no avail.
Does anybody have any further suggestions?  I previously was running flash player without any issue, but once I uninstalled the old version to download the update nothing was working.  Thanks for your help.
    Dennis

if I just delete the files from those directories would that work without running the uninstaller?
    Negative.
    Try this:
Click Start, type System Configuration, click System Configuration, click Selective startup, uncheck Load startup items, click Apply, click Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft Services, click Disable all, click Apply, click OK, click Restart.
    From this site: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3952360#3952360
Download the installers for the Flash Player for Internet Explorer and Flash Player for other browsers.
    Download the uninstaller
    Disconnect from the internet.
    Run uninstaller and reboot.
Delete the Flash folder in folders C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed.
    Run both installers.
Make sure you do the following even if no download is successful.
Click Start, type System Configuration, click System Configuration, click Normal startup, click Apply, click OK, click Restart.

  • Installing Flash player doesn't finish Step 3 Prompt to buy another product

Installing Flash player, after completing Step 2, I'm prompted to buy other products, which I don't want to do.  Anybody have a link that actually completes all steps? Safari browser is not loading pages.  Need help asap.  Thanks!

You don't need to buy anything to finish the Flash Player installation.
    Please use the offline installer:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
If that's not working, do you have any add-ons (Adblock Pro, etc) that might be preventing Flash Player from starting?
If not, sometimes Safari gets confused (particularly if it was blocking an outdated version of Flash).  Doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of Flash Player typically solves it.
Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS
Then just run the offline installer above again.

  • On my Yahoo emails and certain websites I get an error message. I download and install Flash Player and I still get the error. How can I fix this? It's very annoying because I have to use IE instead.

When I use IE I don't have this problem. It's only with Firefox.

Update your Flash Player which is way out of date, even your newer one won't work well with Firefox and many security updates have occurred since..
    * http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
The current Flash is Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.26 You have both Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19 and 10.0 r45 -- you will probably have to uninstall the 7.0 version through the control panel, do that first. Use the Adobe page to update as you are less likely to get crapware install suggestions from that page.
Afterwards run a plug-in update type in about:plugins into location bar and hit enter at the top of the list is a link for for plugins test which you should check out<br>
    http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/
When installing updates, watch out for crapware installs, the checking and the updates are supplied by the plugin makers -- not by Mozilla.

You are on Windows 7, which means you've got decent hardware and software, you should be on Firefox 4. www.mozilla.com to get the latest version.
Next week Firefox 5 comes out, your toolbar changes changes to Fx4 will still work in Fx5. Then ...
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic

If you install "Adblock Plus" extension with a filter subscription such as "EasyList US" which you can subscribe to from the extensions options options once installed. That will eliminate many flash ads, and help somewhat with news sites which have a lot of Flash pages but possibly only the ads start automatically.

  • Windows 7 - can't install flash player in Firefox...Help!

Firefox says web page needs plugins. Click to install them, but Flash Player install (default is older version) fails. Try to do manual install. File downloads, but when I try to install, Zone Alarm alerts on the program. It does this repeatedly with the program name adding a '_1' to its name each loop. Eventually, the install quits and nothing is installed.

After going through the Adobe troubleshooting steps several times, finally found the following link to download Flashplayer directly: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_64bit.exe
    Once installed, Flash started working.

I'm just started using Firefox and it closed Adobe Flash saying it needed updating. While installing Adobe Flash 11 at 50 percent into the install it ask me to close Mozilla Firefox and try again. I have also received a Failed notice several times. I installed it using Internet Explorer, but Firefox will not recognize it. Have tried several times with no luck. I started out trying to download a plugin.

Right click the one you need and "Save" it.
Close your browser completely, and THEN run the installer.

  • Installing flash player and get "close explorer" error code

trying to download flashplayer, keep getting error to close explorer, how do I do that?

"Turning IE back on" is as simple as clicking Start and clicking Internet Explorer in your programs menu.
Better yet, download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove the old Flash Player.
Next, run the Flash Player ActiveX Installer.
That should have you up and running.
