Installing Flash player fails AGAIN on Win 7

Recently I had discussed here a problem with installing Flash Player on 32-Bit Windows 7, which was solved by help in this forum.
Now I had a similar problem with 64-Bit Windows 7 with Flash Player for Mozilla. Installation just said that it failed, without giving further explanation.
Following the advice I got in http://forums.adobe.com/message/3919367#3919367, I downloaded an installer explicitly from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/.
This website redirected me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, from where I downloaded http://aihdownload.adobe.com/bin/install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih.exe.
Running this program went on for about 20 minutes, and finally resulted in the error message: "Installation encountered errors: Actionlist not found".
What else can I do to install flash player?

That is not a direct download link; it's a download helper stub.  In fact this is an old Flash Player link that is not even working any more.  I have no idea why you would want to post this in a more than two years old topic...

Try the following: download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header and save it to disk.  Close all browser windows, then navigate to your downloaded installer, right-click on it and select Run as Administrator.

  • Installing Flash Player fails due to 'close Safari' erro

    Hi,
I have just downloaded the latest Flash Player onto my mac, but whenever I try to install it, the program comes up with the message 'Safari must be closed' to continue. I have closed all the Safari browsers but after clicking retry I am prompted with the same error. I then tried re-doing the entire process with all Safari browsers closed, but I am again prompted with the same error.
Is there a way to get past this?
Any assitance would be really appreciated,

  • Installing Flash Player fails

    Hello all,
My Flash Player has crashed. Reason unknown.
I have looked on this site for solutions and have downloaded the new Flash Player 11 version and re-tried.
Then when I want to open the file to install, nothing happens. I double click as usual, nothing happens, I press 'open', nothing happens even though it appears as process running in the background.
All old files of the Flash Player are deleted.
I have looked at the standard solutions offered on this site but that does not solve it.
So, what do I do wrong or what might be stopping/blocking the installation.
Any other downloaded program I run works as it should.
I have Windows 8, use Firefox.
    Thanks for any help.

I've done ALL the troubleshooting tips, and i'd really really

I found a solution that may help with the Flash Player
installation. I have Windows XP Home and Internet Explorer 7. I did
EVERYTHING tech support and other users suggested, but had no luck
on Internet Explorer. I followed the suggestion to download
Firefox, and then I was able to download and use Flash Player, but
it would only work with Firefox. It would not work with Explorer.
Coincidentally, in trying to open another unrelated
application, I was told that Windows could not open it and I chose
the option to use the Internet to search for a way to open it. It
prompted to download additional software, and one of the options
was a free version of a registry compression tool called "Stuffit".
After downloading and installing Stuffit, I once again followed
Adobe tech support's original instructions for Flash Player.
    1. Make sure you are in Administrator Mode.
    2. Make sure your Active X settings are correct.
    3. Make sure your popup blocker is turned off.
    4. Use the Flash Player uninstaller, making sure all
applications are closed, and all users are logged off.
    5. Then download Flash Player 9 using a standalone installer
    from the following:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14266
(Archived Adobe Flash Players available for testing purposes).
    6. After downloading the installer, make sure all other
applications and windows are closed, then open the
    “9r115”
    folder and run the “flashplayer9r115_winax.exe”
    file.
    7. Afterwards, verify if the Flash Player installed
successfully by going to the version test page:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_15507
This finally worked for me after NOTHING else did. I hope it
    helps you.

    Hi,
I would like to install Flash Player for Other Browsers (specifically for Steam) on my laptop which runs on Win 8 but I'm having issues.
When I run the installation file and then click Yes in the User Account Control dialog box, nothing happens thereafter.
I checked in Task Manager and the installer is indeed running but I don't see anything happening (been more than half an hour).
I tried terminating the first instance of the program, downloading the file again, and running the installer - but the same problem arises.
    Please help! THANKS!

  • Web page asks to install Flash Player again

    Hello everybody,
I have a friend who has a recurrent well-known problem when she tries to watch a video with IE and Youtube. Web page asks her to install Flash Player again and it is not possible to view the video. No problem with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
I applied the advice sheet by Chris Campbell "How do I fix Windows permission problems with Flash Player?" that I found on this forum but the problem persists. What can I do to solve this problem?
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition SP1, Internet Explorer 10 Version 10.0.09200.16540, Shockwave Flash Object Version 11.7.700.169, Shockwave ActiveX Control 12.0 Development
    Thank you for your help.
    Pepin.

    Hello Chris,
Sorry for the delay. I have difficulties to identify the exact model of the laptop in the HP family (HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC g7-2043sf). The label was hidden under the battery. It was important to download the suitable drivers. And then I went on holidays.
    KB2670838 is already installed.
There are two video drivers on the laptop :
    1) Intel HD Graphics Family
    2) Radeon HD 7670M
The Intel driver was already up-to-date.
I installed the last available version for Radeon driver (8.933.3.4000 03/05/2012).
It was a good idea to upgrade video drivers but unfortunately the problem persists.

  • Tired of installing Flash Player 10 over and over and over again!!!!!!

Why do I have to keep installing Flash Player 10?? Every time I go to a site that uses Flash, it tells me I need the newest Flash Player. I click the link, install it, and everything works great...until...I close windows and come back later when it makes me repeat the whole thing again. Adobe won't give me the time of day when I try to talk to them. I've resintalled it about 50 times. I've uninstalled it per tech support instructions who told me to install version 9. I specifically asked if it will then tell me I need version 10. He assured me it would not. The next time I went to Youtube...guess what. I'm told I need to download Flash Player 10!
    Using Windows Vista and IE8

    >but I wouldn't tell you to install vs 9, unless you were using Windows98 and IE4 or 5:-)<
Why do you think the Tech told him to install version 9?
    >I have several threads open right now, take a look at some of them. I'd probably ask you the same questions.
    Just a suggestion.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb<
What thread links do you have open to help us out?
    >I would need you to post back your Flash file versions, SWO in add ons, Security and Firewall you use, etc.<
    1. What is SWO?
    2. I have Adobe DLM(powered by getPlus(R) 1.6.2.63 which then underneath says
"The getPlus(R) Download-, Upload- and Installation Manager is a sophisticated tool for an efficient distribution of digital goods."
This is interesting because from the Adobe Naviation menu under Support>Forums>click on the Flash icon that says "Adobe Flash Player"> and refer to USER POST: betsyg3 "We can't watch videos without adobe flash" where a link is suggested to show you which version you have. The suggested link says "Do you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?" there is a  list that shows what version you should have that looks like this:
    Platform Browser Player version
    Windows
Internet Explorer (and other browsers that support Internet Explorer ActiveX controls and plug-ins)
    10.0.45.2
    Windows
Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera (and other plugin-based browsers)
    10.0.45.2
    Macintosh - OS X
    Firefox, Opera, Safari
    10.0.45.2
    Linux
    Mozilla, Firefox, SeaMonkey
    10.0.45.2
    Solaris
    Mozilla
    10.0.45.2
and right above it there is a box that shows what version you have yet the version it says on the addon page is not the version that is on that link.
Refer to a post i made about this at this link if you desire more context:

  • Multiple attempts at installing flash player have failed

I have attempted at least 7 times to download & install Flash Player.  I still get Alerts when I try to watch video on abc.com.  Why isn't flash player updating?
also, once I get to step 3 of 3, there's an ad to purchase something that I don't want.  there's no button to push that says "no thanks".  Should I just close out the page?

It sounds like you've completed the installation successfully, but it's not working in your browser for some other reason.
This is typically caused by third-party add-ons like ad-blocking or anti-tracking plugins, or third party anti-virus/anti-malware tools.  If none of that stuff sounds familiar, you might want to make sure you're running a current version of Firefox.
If that doesn't work, you can try refreshing Firefox:
Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings | Firefox Help
If you're still stuck, then something is corrupted.
I'd check to make sure that the filesystem is in good shape:
    http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2641432
Then I would uninstall and reinstall both Firefox and Flash:

    Firefox and other NPAPI browsers:

  • When i install flash player im told to install it again.

Last week i installed the new flash player when i did sites that use flash player started freezing up and started asking me to install flash player. I have tried all the solutions: reset internet options, disable all addons, uninstall and reinstall flash, fixing flash player windows perimssions, manually installing flash player, nabually installing flash player while offline and its starting to annoy me. Im using IE9 and i run windows 7, i have an alienware Aurora. Im not very good with computers. I also tried the 11.5 beta and that didnt help and i reverted to an older one and the sites tell me to upgrade.

    On IE9, do you have
    Shockwave Flash Object add-on enabled?
    ActiveX Filtering disabled?
