Installing HTML Server and HTML DB

I am installing the HTML server and HTML db. I get to the screen to enter the HTML DB information and an failing with an error ORA-01017:Invalid username and password. I have checked my SYS password by logging into the database I am using. From the instructions I though the HTML DB Password would be created on install. I have gotten this error before when my tnsnames.ora file was not correct, but I am using it with not problems for database links.

I have a running Oracle 10g Enterprise running in /var/oracle/product/10.1.01.E.on a test Linux system. I have started the install of the companion disk, and when the install screen comes up I enter Name=>MasterProjEntHTML (MasterProjEnt is the name of the database I am using). I enter a new directory for path ( as per the Companion CD Install Instruction that said you need to install the HTML server in a new oracle home directory), /var/oracle/product/companion_1. I then press next and wait for it to load. I select Oracle Database 10g Companion Products. I select Apache Standalone and HTML DB from the Available Products Components screen. Next comes up the Enter HTML DB Congif screen. I enter host name, port, DSN as mral.home.com ( as listed in global naming parameter and tnsnames.ora), I enter my sys password and then the HTML DB password. When I hit next, if get the following. "ERROR: SQLException occured while connecting to the database. Please check the connection details of the database you specifiec and retry. ORA_01017:Invalid username/password, logon denied"
At this point I went to my desktop and remote logged in using my user password and name. I was able to connect. Next I went back on the server and logged in as sys with the password and was able to connect. So at this stage I think my sys password is ok.
Did I misunderstand the instructions about the directory for the HMTL server?
Any help would be appreciated as I am working on my masters and this is necessary to complete the project.

Both Weblogic Server and JAVA JDK are installed on the server already, but I only know the Weblogic Server is 10.3.4.0 and JAVA JDK version is 1.6.0_25.
I know the 64bit Weblogic Server installation file is a wlsXXXX_generic.jar package and 64bit JAVA JDK needed also.
But, since the Weblogic installed already, there are no such installation files on the Linux Server now.
I have tried the "java -version" for java version and check the Weblogic version from Weblogic console.
How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit with Linux command? Or is there any way to check it?

What you can try to do is use WLST (or an MBean browser, such as JConsole or JRockit Mission Control) and connect to the adminserver.
For example when using WLST:

Help required in installing VM Server and Manager 3.1.1 + latest patch.

I have 3 servers with 12GB ram and two 300 GB HDD (local) each, No Shared storage.
I am planning to install Oracle VM server 3.1.1 Build 544 and VM Manager 3.1.1 Build 524.
VM manager installed on Dom0 in one of the VM server (found some blog which describes how to implement it).
I have some questions running through my mind and help to solve it s really appreciated.
1) Is ORACLE VM SERVER PATCH 3.1.1-524 RELEASE is complete OS or its just patch which has to installed over 3.1.1 VM server. Because the patch readme says *"This patch update is a complete Oracle VM Server 3.1.1 installer ISO" ??*
2) I read somewhere in the forum that the 3.X version cannot use the disk where OS is installed as storage repository. in that case i will be loosing around 250 GB on each machine, on which i have installed VM server. Is it TRUE??
3) Is it possible to update VM server first and then update VM manager ( before creating server pool etc) ??
The servers are not connected to internet or SAN no i cannot use YUM or SAN update methods and I have very limited access to this servers physically.

1. Its patch 544. Both can be downloaded and are complete installs. If you have YUM setup in an existing environment.... the VM servers can be upgraded via YUM. The VM Manager has to be upgraded via the installer.
2. Yes. This is true. Maybe your local RAID controller can present the storage as two separate LUNS/Disks even though they maybe setup as a mirror. If not, then you're out of luck. Virtual box can use local storage that OS is installed on. Oracle VM 3.1.1 can't.
3. Yes. You can install the 544 version of 3.1.1 on the servers before attaching them to the VM Manager. YUM should be used to upgrade the servers if they are already attached to a VM Manager. You would then upgrade the manager first and then upgrade the servers.

Microsoft outlook 2010 not working after installing proxy server and ForeFront TMG firewall

I am trying to have Outlook 2010 work though proxy server recently installed on internal network, I have configured IE to use the proxy settings, but I cannot find the
same with Outlook 2010, I want to clarify that we use Outlook 2010 to connect to internet email and we installed ForeFront TMG firewall on the proxy server and as a result of that we changed the IP settings and after that Outlook stopped sending and receiving
mails and gives error: “receiving reported error (0x800408fc): 'The Server name you entered cannot be found (it might be down temporarily).”
So please help us by sharing how to fix this issue to make Outlook work though proxy server

Are you using Exchange account? If you are changing your Exchange account to use a proxy server, I suggest we can create new profile and automatically re-configuring your account with autodiscover service to have a try:

Installing RADIUS server and Snap-Ins

Following TID 10078616 to install RADIUS server components and Snap-Ins
and the option to choose those two items are not available. Just
wondering what gives? Any ideas or has anyone else run across this?
Running BM3.8 sp2a on Netware 6.5 sp2.

To do a manual install of RADIUS you need the following files
bauthpxy.nlm
radus.nlm
You should be able to find them on the BM disks and you can
place them on any up to date NW server running NMAS without
any license issues.

I installed Lion Server and when I click on the Profile Manager I get an error and nothing shows - I can't figure out how to re install Lion Server to fix this - any ideas

I installed Lion Server on my Mac Pro. Everything looked to be working until I checked Profile Manager and I get an error message "Error Reading Settings" Not sure how to fix it. Tried to download Server agian but can't.

Look at /usr/lib/libpq library. I have had the same problem. There were following files:

Installed mavericks server and now some users don't have access to folders!? Why and how do I fix it???

I have just upgraded the server and os to mavericks and now users that used to be able to open and save or even log in are now locked out with the server saying wrong password. I reset their password and still nothing. I created a new user and they can't even log in? Why now? And how do I fix this. It seems that some users and groups now don't have access and all that was done was to let the group open a shared folder that they have access before. I reset everything and am now very frustrated!!!

Trying to install VM Server and not getting the CD found screen to display

Trying to install Oracle VM Server from a CDROM:
1.     Insert the Oracle VM Server CDROM into your CDROM drive.
2.     Boot the computer with the Oracle VM Server CDROM.
3.     The Oracle VM Server screen is displayed.
All that went fine but not getting the CD found screen to display. Instead it says the device wasn't found and shows a list of drivers, none of which seem to match the CD drive. Anyone have any ideas? There is an option to point it to a driver disk, not sure if I need to get the driver from somewhere and do that or not?

Are you allowed to install Linux in a hyper-v on the same hardware as a Windows server? Also, would there be any issues to crop up? I am curious because I want to put Windows Server 2012 on one VM, Exchange on another VM, and then a Linux Server on another VM all on the same physical hardware. Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V would be hosting them all. The reason for the Linux Server is to use it for anti-virus or spam etc. and Linux is a free OS. I am curious though how it will jive with a Windows domain as well as being on the same machine as a hosted VM.

Installed MacMini server and can't see hard drive on wireless printer

Hi, all, I installed a MacMini 10.6 server on Tuesday and am having an issue communicating with my printer. We have a wireless office and have a Toshiba printer and scanner connected to a wireless bridge which is then connected to our Airport Extreme. The set up has been very efficient for our small group.
Before the server was installed and connected via CAT5 cable to the Airport we were able to scan using our printer and see the stored files on the printers built in hard drive. But since the server was installed, we can print, but we can't see the hard drive on the printer.
What do I need to do in order to see that hard drive again?

If you want to try to replace it yourself, [iFixit has good repair guides|http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/MacBook-Air-Hard-Drive-Replacement/86 0/1].
As I take the parts out, I tape them to a piece of paper with clear packaging tape and write the step number (and screw color from guide) next to them. Making sure you've got the correct tiny screw in the right place is a bugger without doing that.

I suggest that you also include more information in your posts about what you've already tried to do and why it doesn't seem to be working. Simply asking "how to configure LDAP" isn't going to elicit many responses....You need to show you've actually attempted it yourself.
Also, you'll always want to include the versions of the software you're using.

Question about HTTP Server and 9iAS

I am kind of new to Oracles 9is products. I installed Oracle 9i Rel. 2 recently and it installed HTTP Server and other stuff as part of that install. I am trying to write a small web application. Is this install good enough to do basic servlet's, jsp's and may be EJB's etc ... or do I need to install 9iAS. I am confused on the fact that I know 9iAS will give me j2ee container, web container, clustering, etc ..., what functionality is included in the 9i databases web server piece.
Also, can anyone point me to a good documentation that explains directory structure of 9i Rel. 2. I am familiar with the database part fairly well(oracle 7 release). However, I am confused as to new web related stuff (Apache, bc4j, etc..) in 9i Rel. 2.

No, you cannot run EJB's in the Apache installation. For that you might want to download OC4J.
Basic Http pages and Servlets can run but I dont think it is advisable to use it for that. For any kind of development, I would suggest you to use OC4J.
Oracle9i Database is web enabled and you can access the table, etc.. from a browser too. This is the reason Apache is provided with the basic installation. Oracle9i Rel 2 has XML DB in it which again can be accessed from the Web.

Frist install of weblogic and BI

This is my first time installing Weblogic Server and Oracle BI.
I will read up on all of the documentation. Nevertheless,
Are there any screen shots of the BI installation available that I can follow step by step as I do my install? It seems easy but I want to look at the installation as I do it. Iam on a Windows platform.
Also, I am creating a training installation for myself. This is for learning only. I am the only user on the server. So is it necessary for me to create a new weblogic domain or are the domains used to separate different oracle applications that I install on the system?
Like I said, I am just getting started and I have a lot of reading to do.

However, points 1 and 5 are outside the scope of that. I assume by "weblogic setup" you mean the installation of the Weblogic distribution itself? There's information about that here .
Concerning point 5, that has nothing to do with WebLogic. There are JUnit Ant tasks for this.
