Installing Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5

Hello,
I just completed (successfully I think) the installation of HA 7.2.5 I and can get to the Analyzer Launch page by
going to --> http://localhost:7002/Analyzer7_Server/index.html
Once I get to the HTML Web Client Login screen and enter my username and password the browser turns white and nothing happens (blank page) and done is displayed in the lower left corner.
Here's my environment:
** Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5 SP2
** Weblogic 8.1
** Oracle 9i database
** jdk142_05
** JDBC classes11.jar
Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I verfied that Analyzer 7.2.5 does support our current version of IE6 and I also tried connecting from another computer and i get the same results. However, I experience the same symtom when I run the Java Web Client (Just hangs). Can you tell me what default username and password I should be using to log in? Is it the RDBS username and password that was entered during the install ? Could there be post install tasks that I could be missing something?

Installing Hyperion Analyzer

I was told that when installing Analyzer (creating .ear file to be deployed under WebSphere), specify port 9080 or 9085, instead of default. I have used both 9080 at one time and 9085 at another time during the creation of .ear file. But When I tried to launch the home page of Analyzer, using port 9085 in the URL, it does not launch. Although during the installation process I had specified 9085. However, when I changed the port in URL to 9080, it works. Question: What is the significance of providing a port number for application server during the installation process? Does the port gets embedded into the .ear file which is created and later deployed under WebSphere? But then why is that when I specified port 9085, during the installation process, but Analyzer did not launch when port 9085 was mentioned in URL, but it still worked hen I used port 9080 in URL?Is port specified during installation process (creation of .ear file) is ignored, and port 9080 is automatically used in. If that is the case then why did Hyperion tech support recommended to use port 9080 and not the default. Please clarify.

Hyperion analyzer installation issue

I am installing Hyp analyzer 7.2.5. Can any one tell me ..why the below warnings are arising
The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5. Choose Finish to exit the wizard.
However, the following warnings were generated:
*Could not use FileService to add required bytes : ServiceException: (error code = 200; message = "catalina.policy (The system cannot find the file specified)"; severity = 0; exception = [java.io.FileNotFoundException: catalina.policy (The system cannot find the file specified)])*

I am trying to install hyp analyzer with sql server 2000 as relational repository,
I have an issue in selecting JDBC driver, they mentioned I need to give the path for the driver folder, but there are three files in that folder.
mssqlserver.jar,msutil.jar and msbase.jar.
My question which jar file I need to select while installation.
I tried keeping only dirver loaction but when I hit next I am getting dialog box saying C:\Microsoft_SQLServer2000_Driverfor_JDBC\lib ,
So it makes me to select one of the three files.. so which file I need select out of three.
If I select one of the file it is letting me allow to the next step...so help me with

If I remember it correctly, you will need to copy all 3 jars into the WEB-INF\lib and select mssqlserver.jar as the driver.

Hyperion Analyzer Server

I installed Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.3 on the window server. I also installed IIS and it seems to be working. I need to connect this to Essbase and I did change the Essbase server name in Analyzer.properties file, but when I click on the url from my application, I get the error "Page not found".
Does anybody know the cause? Do I need to install Essbase Client version for Windows on the server?

hi,
In order to connect reports, tomcat service should be run contionously. If you logged off the server, these services can be shutdown.
You can make the tomcat service as windows service, so even if you logged off (serivce will remain active).
To move analyzer reports from development to production, take the export (from dev) and import (in prod).
Export is available in analyzer by using File->Export. You can export one report or all reports in one file.
Once export file is complete, copy it in prod server and take the import from analyzer.

Hyperion Analyzer Installation 7.2

I need a little help from you about installing Hyperion Analyzerstandalone client here in Mumbai office with the repository storedon the Air Canada server which is Acn103 (12.41.51.133) at USA I am installing Hyperion Analyzer version 7.2. When I reach the screen which provides the option- Select the repository type for Hyperion Analyzer; I select theMicrosoft SQL Server 2000 option. Since I am not creating the database I deselect create databaseoption and click next. Here it asks me the Server name which put it asACN103/12.41.51.133. Then it asks me to put the Analyzer RDMS Username and AnalyzerRDBMS password which I put in as Air Canada (User Name) &aircanada (pw) respectively which is my SQL user ID and passwordfor AirCanada server Here it also asks me the path to Microsoft SQL JDBC driver which ininstallation manual says may be the mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar andmsbase.jar file. Since I could not locate these files on my machine I could notprovide the path and hence the Test connection to repositoryfailed. So I don’t know where am I going wrong? So where can I locate these jar files and whether I am followingthe right process or not. I have dowloaded these executable jar files from net so whther itll help or not. Please suggest. all ideas to fix the prob are welcome

Now when i attempt running the executable jar file ie(mssqlserver.jar) i get the error failed to load Main-classmanifest attrbute. Now i m clueless as to how to fix this problem. Hyperion Analyzer login

After installing Hyperion Analyzer, I am not able to login. During installing it had asked for a user name, however no password was asked for. When I run analyzer I give the same user id, however I do not have a password. Is there a default administrator account that is created?

In my case, I can log on analyzer 6.1 with using not oracle 8.1.7 but db2 as dbms.And one more you should check server ip in you propery file. Don't use host name!!

Hyperion Analyzer Presentation

I created Analyzer presentation under my user id and granted access to other user, group and added the other user to group. If I log on as that user, I can't open the presentation. I tried to copy the presentation under the other user folder and it still does not work. I can see the name and properties, but "open" button is gray when I right-click on the presentation.
I just installed Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.3 and Essbase 7.1.6.6

I do not believe Analyzer 7 is compatible with Vista.
I tried installing Essbase on Vista and it was a miserable failure. I did, finally, get it to install and run but certain operations, particularly metadata queries (to fill picklists) performed very poorly (for example, 5 to 10 seconds to return a list of 5 members). I punted and had the laptop rebuilt with XP.

Reports export in Hyperion Analyzer ver. 7.2.5 gives error ?

OS : Windows server 2003 sp2
IBM websphere application server 5.1.1.10
Oracle database version: 10.1.0.2
JRE : 1.4.2_12
I installed the hyperion analyzer v 7.2.5 build 36 with last supported version of oracle 10g i.e 10.1.0.2.I'am able to successfully create reports and save them.Only issue is export of reports.sometimes i'am able to successfully export:simple and advanced reports from one essbase datasource.but from a completly different essbase datasource i'am not able to export even a single ,basic report. i'am enclosing the java console output below:

Hyperion Analyzer 7.5.5

We are upgrading the Hyperion analyzer version to 7.5.5. We are planning to use JRE 1.4.2_12 with this release. Problem we are facing is that if the user has got higher version of JRE than this, it doesn't use the 1.4.2_12 JRE version but the higher version. We have tested that the higher versions than this eg 1.5.0_9 and 1.6.0_5 JRE versions have got some issues with Analyzer.
Question :- Is there an option in Analyzer setting that will force analyzer always to use JRE 1.4.2_12 even though you may have higher versions of JRE on your desktop ?

I'm not aware of a version 7.5.5. We have 7.2.5 and JRE 1.5.0 is supported and works fine. JRE 1.6 is not supported and there is part of your problem. If you have JRE 1.5.0 installed, you can force it to use 1.4.2, but there is no need since 1.5.0 works fine. If your user has JRE 1.6 installed you have a problem. JRE 1.6 will override anything you are doing in the application and force the app to use 1.6. There was a write up about this a while back it has to do with the way the JRE developers are handling security patches. This has nothing to do with Hyperion. In those cases, you need to remove JRE 1.6 from the client machine.

Hyperion Analyzer 7.2 HTMl Export problem

I am using the HTML version of Hyperion Analyzer 7.2 I have Office 2003 installed. For some reason when I export to excel using HTMl version, a screen opens but closes back and no data is displayed. It works fine on the Java version. Please advise

On the client PC include the path to Excel.exe in your %PATH% environment variable and then try to export to excel.

Hyperion Analyzer/Reports using Windows 7 and I.E. 8

Is there anyone in the user community is currently using Windows 7 operating system and Internet Explorer 8 successfully with the current versions of Hyperion Analyzer 7.2.5.4 and Reports 7.2.5.3?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Hyperion Analyzer 5.03 web client

I have an problem on using Hyperion Analyzer 5.03 web client. When I connect on the hyperion via analyzer web client after analyzer newly install on web server it work OK. However, after few days I connect it again. I able to login but no option for me to create a new spreadsheet/chart.It work again when I reboot the web server. Please advise how to avoid it to happen. Do I need to schedule a reboot on every mid-night?ThanksLouis

You can log into Analzyer still? Just no menu options? Other than still being able to log in, it sounds like the common problem with the BDE/ODBC connection needing to be re-established. I know that in the various client cases I have dealt with where the clients are using an Enterprise repository, and if the RDMS they are using is brought "down" that the bde/odbc connection that the Analyzer Analysis Server has established needs to be renewed.In the case I have described above, all you need to do is stop and re-start the Analyzer Analysis Service. (In some cases I have created a batch file that is fired off by a scheduler to do this daily) Hope that helps some.

Hyperion Analyzer error

I am trying to edit a Essbase database connection (change of server), I already edited few connections but for some reason for few cubes it is unable to save , it is throwing an exception saying
Unable to save changes Failed to store: com.hyperion.analyzer.atf.om.HYAUserPreferences:33.
We are using v7.x

check out MetaLink doc 1325591.1. it deals with 11.1.2.1, but could still apply to an older version. sounds like you may have an issue with your static content:

The issue is caused by the having Web Analysis installed on a machine without the OHS web server.
As part of the consolidation process of 11.1.2.1 development has moved the static content as part of the OHS install. This causes problems in distributed environments where OHS is not installed.
